The voice that once reached out now quietly smiles... I denied it all and shut my eyes... Melt the world away and turn it into a lie...
The sounds of his transportation dulled his senses of location and the servant fussing over him distracted his mind. Being constantly blindfolded, the incubus could hardly dress himself and the servant was doing her best to make his chains look... presentable. Along with the chains he was garbed in a flowing crimson robe and simple, black mask over his red blindfold. It seemed redundant, but the mask was required. As the servant fussed with his chains he heard the driver mention that they were approaching their destination. The incubus' merman tail swished a bit on the floor, causing the servant to adjust the robe again.
He felt the carriage stop and the servant sighed, deciding he was as presentable as possible, making one last touch to tie some of his hair back and out of his face while leaving the rest of it loose. She then opened the door and gently took his hand, the incubus slowly rising from his seat and floating in the direction she pulled him toward. He heard music ahead and pulled away from her grip, drawn to the sound. He sensed the opening and floated on through. He couldn't see it, but his ebony tail seemed to glitter in the lighting of the ballroom and the fins were sleek, but flowing as they caught the light as well. He could tell he stood out, sensing some people pausing to look his way.
He drifted along the edge of the room, listening and sensing this new environment quietly. He smelled food and drifted toward it, but it was food he'd never smelled before. Some smelled good, others not so much. Unfortunately he couldn't tell if anything was a finger food or not, nor whether there were plates or utensils. Thus he hovered and looked unsure of what to do about the food. He didn't want to touch and make a mess of things. He smelled wine too, but never cared for it. What struck him as odd was the smell broke off from the table and a bit to his side. He also smelled something earthy and sweet, a woman. He spoke up gently, sensing she hadn't realized he was there, saying, "Hello?" His voice was surprisingly smooth and gentle, like silk, yet rough and polite in an odd way. He got the feeling that whoever it was couldn't see either, or was distracted, otherwise she would've noticed him sooner.

After standing for so long her legs began to ache a little, yearning to rest. Time to find somewhere to sit I suppose. The elf was about to depart from the table but halted in her steps, hearing the sound of chains getting close towards her. Chains? The sound of it sent a bit of a chill up the nape of her neck. "Hello?" Head slowly turn towards the voice which is obviously male. Sounded gentle and yet odd to Dahlia. The elf remained silent only for a few seconds then quickly cleared her throat before speaking back to whoever it is that has decided to approach her. "Hello." She responded calmly but also sounded a bit surprised that someone would come up to her so soon, this she didn't expect.
Dahlia grew speechless for a moment, enough time to think. Should I say anything else? Perhaps ask him a question would be a good start. Yes? The elf turned her body to face where the voice came from, hoping that she was facing the man correctly. "Are you enjoying the ballroom so far? The music is lovely and serene." She paused. Waiting for the man to answer her question.
Pointy ears quickly picked up maybe three or four people nearby trying to whisper. Terrible at it. "Wow he's levitating?!" A woman blurted out. Dahlia's brows raised but didn't bother to say anything to the people for being so rude. Her attention fully on the man who's levitating right in front of her and sadly doesn't know how high or low he is. She also began to realize that she forgot to introduce herself. Terrible at this. The incubus heard the question, as well as the whispers regarding them both. He was tempted to switch back to his legs, but the robe was designed for his tail-form and he was more familiar with moving by levitation. He heard the question and said, "I... suppose so. I'm not used to events like this, I find myself at a loss for what to do. I also would like to try eating something, but I have no idea what's on the table. I can smell it, but I don't recognize any of the scents."
He heard further whispers and murmurs, which grew progressively unsettling. Many questioned what he was, or if he might be 'entertainment' brought in for the ball instead of part of the games. A hand went to his blindfold, but he quickly put it down. Instead he adjusted his chains and said, "Ladies, off to my right and behind me, you should know I can hear you perfectly, so I suggest you either talk to me directly or stop whispering." He heard gasps of shock and disgust, followed by quick footsteps to elsewhere in the ballroom.
Once certain they couldn't hear him, he audibly shuddered out a sigh, saying, "I... I've never talked back like that before, I didn't think they'd just run off. Just something else that's new to me, I suppose." He smiled rather warmly, despite the fact that his current conversation partner couldn't see it. His hands idled in front of his midsection, lacing together and poking his fingers together to keep them busy at random while he waited for the woman to respond.

The elf listened well to his words and voice, nodding once. Somehow felt relieved to hear someone else feeling the same way about coming to a place like this. Her lips slowly part, about to say something until the loud whispering of the people near them continue to gossip. Dahlia was about to finally say something to shoo them away but the man in front of her decided to say something. Hearing the people walk off almost made the brunette smirk a little.
Hearing the man sigh made her blink a few times as he spoke to her again. "Your not alone. Many walk away from me, mostly because of my appearance and I don't let such gossip bother me too much. I.. keep myself occupied with books and study." Dahlia said to the man. Feeling a bit uneasy talking about herself since she don't talk too much to people. Only her teacher, his sister and her mother. This felt new to her and interesting that he is blind too.
Dahlia slowly turned away from him, sniffing a bit to get the smell of the bread and also to make sure she's still standing near it or not. One hand reach out to grab one bread and turned to her right to face him again. Arm stretch out with bread in her palm. "Try this. It's bread and it has such a sweet flavor to it, which is honey. Will fill you up for now but if you need more to eat I could help the best way I can." She suggested. Waiting for him to take the soft bread from her hand. The voice that once reached out now quietly smiles... I denied it all and shut my eyes... Melt the world away and turn it into a lie...
The incubus heard the description of the item as bread, but the name had a strange disconnect in his mind. To him, bread was dry and tasteless. He was only ever fed the most basic of food, and most of it wasn't exactly fresh. It had been necessary to survive, so he never complained, but had secretly wished it tasted better. If this woman's description was accurate, then his wish had been made true without him realizing it.
He caught the disconnected bread scent where she was holding it out and took it somewhat tentatively. His own hands brushed over her outstretched one, unintentionally letting her feel his skin against hers. It would feel smooth, but the occasional, small scar dotted his fingers and the backs of his hands. His nails were also rather long, but freshly trimmed, so they lightly touched her hand as well.
He held the warm, slightly sticky ball of bread in his hands and took a small bite cautiously. The taste hit him like a wall, fluffy and warm and sweet, a combination he had never even conceived of before. Out of reflex, he flinched at the flavor and gripped the bread tightly, but no strike came, no shout of disapproval. He then devoured the bread with rather... audible enthusiasm. He nearly went straight for the scent on the table, but remembered where he was and politeness kept him in place. It was probably best to not overdo it either.
He remembered her mentioning studies and books. He could read, it was one of the few times his blindfold was removed, but the books he'd read were simplistic and childish at best. Even with his... removed perspective, he knew they weren't a great example of what books were. He then said, "You mentioned you read books. I've never had much... access to them, what sort of books have you read? I was taught the basics, but never had access to anything more interesting than some simple stories." His behavior gave away much, but he'd made a personal point to try to avoid mentioning his former slavery unless prompted. If anything, his behavior would indicate he came from a low standing at the very least, which also made his presence at the ball a bit more strange.
Another smell caught his attention before she answered, though. Sweet and rich, but kind of odd. It was in the center of the table and a bit close to the edge. He turned to it and added, "Also, what's this? I've never smelled it before." He found the table with a hand and tapped next the plate the scent was coming off of, unaware that what he smelled was a plate of chocolate brownies.

The feeling his skin against hers made the elf jump just a little, swallowing a bit as she allowed him to take the bread from her hand. Could feel what might be a scar and something a bit sharp poked against her palm lightly. Might be nails. Maybe. Her hand slowly retreated to her side when she felt he had a good grip on the bread. Hearing the man enjoy the bread, Dahlia bit down on her bottom lip a bit to keep herself from letting out a chuckle.
Felt glad that he accepted the bread from her. Back at the academy she didn't really trust anyone at her school to help get her food and sometimes they would give her some. Sadly she'd deny, thinking that they might've put something in it just to make fun of her or perhaps felt pity about her being blind. She wanted to show everyone that she can handle herself and not be a burden to anyone, especially to her mother.
Brows raised a little when the man spoke up to her about her reading books. Heraing him ask another question about something on on the table that has caught his attention. "I've read many books on magic mostly but also love digging into history. Can never get enough of it. So much to learn and yet so little time." She answered. "I'm sure your curious as to how I read?" Dahlia chuckled. "I use my fingers to feel around the pages and for the shape of the letters. Sometimes my teacher read them to me, so stubborn but I don't complain." The brunette cleared her throat again and this time she turned her head and started using her nose to sniff out the smell he was trying to decipher.
Dahlia slowly leaned to the left, reaching out towards the smell. So sweet and the scent of chocolate made her mouth water a bit. "Ah this! It's a brownie. Want to try?" She responded. Hmm is there a napkin? I don't want my hands all over it. Right hand started patting on the table for the napkin, took her a moment and finally she found the pile. Sort of soft and yet the patterns were coarse against her fingertips. "Give me a moment." She said to him as her hands explored the table. Left hand bump against a platter, head leaning forward to sniff. Here it is. She pursed her lips, using her right hand to fold the napkin a bit and hand dove down to grab a brownie. Feeling the shape of it through the napkin and began to smile just a little. "Here." Dahlia's arm reached out to her right but her head didn't turn, green eyes stare out elsewhere. Waiting for him to take it so that she can know if he moved somewhere else or still standing near her.
Didn't expect to do anything in this event and yet here she is talking with someone. Perhaps this will be fun after all. She thought to herself. Feeling a bit more confident now that she isn't alone. Oh but if her mother saw her dressed like this and talking to someone. Dahlia will never hear the end of it. "Mind sharing what type of stories did you read or did someone read the books to you? Also maybe I can lend you one of my books if your interested." Dahlia never let people borrow her books unless their interested or passionate about history and magic. OOC: Night! Will reply later today ^_^ and hmm no. COMPANY │ x Man (Vemoras)__LOCATION │ x Ballroom__ATTIRE │ x Dress and mask.

The voice that once reached out now quietly smiles... I denied it all and shut my eyes... Melt the world away and turn it into a lie...
The incubus listened with quiet curiosity as she explained about the books and her reading method, getting confirmation that she was blind. In spite of that, she didn't seem helpless or encumbered by it. Heightened as his own senses were, a lack of experience in the real world made him easily unsettled. The music also threw off his hearing just a bit and so many people's scents began to mix in the ambience.
When she stated the treat's name and what sounded like her searching for something he waited patiently. When she held it out it was almost right in front of his face, his blindfold not catching the disconnect with her actual gaze. He reached for it and felt the napkin along with the soft treat in it, taking it carefully, but sensing that she was trying make sense of where he was. He understood why, floating gave no footsteps and his chains were slightly muffled by the robe.
With the brownie in one hand he carefully offered his sleeve by placing it in her hand and said, "I get the sense you're having trouble tracking me, and you have such soft foot steps it's a bit difficult for me as well. If you don't mind, you can hold my sleeve so we know where the other one is. As for my books, my eyes are dangerous to people, but harmless to books and objects, so I've been blindfolded for as long as I can remember. I was allowed to remove it to read, but only ever a few pages at a time."
He paused to try the brownie, talking a larger bite than he had with the bread. His reaction was an odd squeak in the back of his throat, though it was a good sign, just surprised. He began to chew and couldn't fight back a soft, contented moan. He was starting to understand why some nobles were rather disgustingly large, the few times he'd come in contact with them. His former master wasn't one of those, but not much better.
He made an effort to hold off on the rest of the brownie and said, "Apologies, the stories in particular were fairly basic. Typical fables and nursery rhymes really. I'd be interested in those history books, though. My sense of time is a bit... blurred for the most part." He gave a small shrug and took another bite of the brownie, his tail swishing in quiet joy. Knowing she was blind, he felt he must be a sensory mystery for her, which was another reason to offer his sleeve. It gave her an excuse to explore him a little, if needed. He also sensed some eyes on them, but not gossiping ones, just curious, and ignored them.

When he took the brownie she felt the warmth of his hand near hers. He's close. Dahlia was about to move her hand away after he grabbed the brownie but stopped. Feeling something soft in her palm, brushing against her fingertips. One brow raised a little, realizing that he just found out what her weakness is so easily but she also found out his too. "Thank you." She quickly nodded. Slowly turning her body towards where his voice is coming from.
Listening to him mention that his eyes are dangerous and yet harmless to objects. Hmmm I see. Dahlia's head lowered a little. Wondering if she should talk to this man about how she became blind. Best not to. After all these years she still didn't feel comfortable talking about it. The memory still haunt her when she sleep but has gotten used to the dream.
The elf quickly snapped back into reality after hearing a moan that sounded quite happy. Face softened a bit, feeling a little glad that he is enjoying the sweet brownie. Pointer finger and thumb slowly rub together against one small area of his sleeve. Maybe he's wearing a robe? Hmm. "It's alright." She nodded. Almost felt curious enough to venture further pass his sleeve to get a good feel of what he is. Dahlia fought the urge, fingers slipped away from his sleeve and went back to her side once more. Tempting and yet didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable.
Mind flashing back to when she used to read fables whens she was young. "History is ancient and fascinating. So much of it at my fingertips is an opportunity I couldn't ignore. To learn about the goddess, races, creatures and many spells that are still unknown to people that never bother to seek it out. Most of all I enjoy reading more on what happened before all three kingdoms settled here." She paused for a bit. "Learning about ancient carvings and buildings that once stood tall like the castles. It's breathtaking really, to feel it and sense the magic that many thought no longer remained in this world. To be surrounded by it is extraordinary." Sadly her venturing to the ruins and studying carvings will have to be on pause for now. Since her mother doesn't want her traveling into the forests on her own.
Dahlia loved the feeling of nature around her. Made her feel safe and free, hearing animals nearby eating but watching her every move. The sweet sound of the waterfall, calming refreshing and wonderful to her ears. How the soft grass and cold dirt greeted her bare feet. Remembered staring out from a cliff to enjoy the view. Few of her journeys were magnificent and dangerous. "It is.. my only sanctuary where I can truly let go and become one with nature. I feel.. it is where I belong." She quickly added into the conversation. Hoping that she didn't bore him with talk of history and magic. Was even going to go so far as to tell him about one of her adventures but right now isn't the time. OOC: Haha yeah xD COMPANY │ x Man (Vemoras)__LOCATION │ x Ballroom__ATTIRE │ x Dress and mask.

A r i o n V o s n i a↣ The Scatterbrained Exile ↤ Team 2 - Mask His face didn't show it, but Ari felt bad. This poor woman nearly leaped right out of her skin when he spoke to her. He gave her the best gentle smile he could, which ended up being somewhere between slightly predatory and entirely goofy. The sharp, golden eyes of a werecrow didn't display compassion very well, and he had a naturally mischievous face. He meant to stop her as she rose to her feet, but the butterflies were doing something now, pulling his attention back. As they turned into a little blob, and then into a hummingbird, he let out a delighted little squeak. His fingers twitched as he forced himself to not try to catch the little thing flitting about his person.
Maev's voice stole his attention away from her magic, and he grinned at her. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Arion Vosnia, but please, call me Ari." He grabbed her forearm, placing his own against her palm, and gave a soft squeeze. "I'm sorry for surprising you like that. I tend to leave my manners behind wherever I go." It didn't help that most people, in most situations, could hear him coming a mile away. He wasn't one to hide his presence if he didn't have to.
Looking around, he took in the sights of the other people in the room. He was tempted to ask if Maev wanted to wander over to the food table for some snacks, but something about the blinded creature in red disturbed him. It took a moment to realize what was so off-putting. It wasn't that the male seemed like a bad sort. It was that he smelled of the were's own home country. Zeladis had a very distinct aroma. It took years for him to get the scent completely out of his feathers and hair.
It was, however, extremely difficult to not giggle at the sight of the two at the food table. How in the world did two adorable blind people find each other? He could only assume the woman couldn't see either with as close as she put her face to the treats and as much as she had to feel around.

The voice that once reached out now quietly smiles... I denied it all and shut my eyes... Melt the world away and turn it into a lie...
The incubus listened with rather rapt attention, what she described sounded fascinating and extraordinary. To learn more about the world and the past was admirable, though he assumed it came with some risk as well. She also seemed to explore just for the sake of exploring, no bias or wanting to find a specific answer. That was comforting, it wasn't political or anything for her, it was just what she enjoyed.
He then said, "To explore and learn about the past and the world... it sounds fascinating, and admirable. Although, I imagine some risk comes with that. The world is dangerous, and if you were to track down an unsettling political secret no doubt someone would... dislike it, to say the least." He paused and added, "Granted, you strike me as the type to be able to handle dangerous places quite well."
When she mentioned liking nature, he took another bite of the brownie, still enjoying it, but getting better control of his reactions. He swallowed and said, "I love the smell of the forests, we passed a few on the way here. I can understand why you like them and nature in general. I hope the games give an opportunity to explore for us both." He had no way of knowing if they were on the same team, but he hoped for the best for her.
He'd noticed that she'd been tempted to explore him a bit, but hadn't reacted. He didn't mind, he was used to it, perhaps more than he ought to be. Still, he knew that she'd heard the comment about him floating and no doubt questioned why. He felt she still held onto his sleeve and raised his tail up into closer range. He used his sleeve to find her hand and gently guided it to the tail, saying, "I don't mind you trying to figure out what I look like. I understand the curiosity all too well." He guided her hand to his fins, giving her a better understanding of why and how he was floating. It wasn't exactly intimate to him, the sensation was akin to having her touch his ankle or heel. It was perhaps a bit bold on his part, but they couldn't see each other, so he wanted her to at least figure out what he was.

Dahlia just nodded towards his opinions about her exploring without any help when in danger. Relieved to hear someone final knowing how she feel about nature. Back at the academy no one was curious about her studies. Most people were just too afraid to approach her or maybe didn't want to be seen with her. This didn't really effect Dahlia but sometimes she just couldn't help but feel a bit of sadness. Using meditation to clear her mind of such emotion, to keep it from showing and it helps her think of something else.
Her mind wondered elsewhere, thinking of the games he mentioned just now. I hope so too. She thought to herself rather than saying it out loud. Both her hands intertwine again, one finger fiddling with the other. Feeling surprised that the conversation lasted this long between them. Always expected people to leave when she start mentioning history and magic.
The elf quickly paid attention to the man as he spoke up that he didn't mind if she wanted to figure out what he is. This made the brunette blink a few times, a bit astonished. Feeling something bump lightly against her left leg almost made her take a few steps back. "I.. didn't hold on to your sleeve." Dahlia stopped fiddling with her fingers, tempted to take three steps forward, but didn't. "Perhaps.. another time?" Dahlia kept a calm face as she said that to him. Using one hand to comb back a strand of her hair behind her pointy ear.OOC: Oooh I see c: COMPANY │ x Man (Vemoras)__LOCATION │ x Ballroom__ATTIRE │ x Dress and mask.

X X X X X X X X X X X X X Standing straight she spun around and finished her drink setting it down gently beside her on one of the pillars of the grand railing. Nikita sighed leaning back her palms pressed against the stone and the lower part of the small of her back rested elegantly against the stone wall. She looked in through the doors at the party it reminded her of a painting the faint yellow glow of romantic lights the crimson draperies that hung from the large windows and the beautiful people mingling and dancing their worries away for in the mourn they would become enemies. A softened sigh escaped her fragile lips as a few of the people caught her eye, by the dessert table were a blind folded merman which She recognized from the castle, they had never formally met although they would pass occasional in the last few weeks before their arrival here. The girl she did not however. Focusing a little more Nikita would pick up on a slightly curious yet fearful and lost emotion and her stunning solid green eyes led her to believe she was to was blind, the merman may not have actually been blind but every time Nikita had seen him he was blind folded for reasons beyond her knowledge. With a smirk she smiled the unusual duo was rather charming it brought a slight flutter to her heart.
Across the room sat a man and what was obviously some sort of witch playing magic tricks with a few butterflies how beautiful they where and how she longed to be a part of that beautiful and flawless display the women although not confident with herself seemed rather confident in her magic this brought a smile to her face and a sinking feeling to her heart she would be a great asset to her team and she seemed much to bright to be on Nikita’s side. These two groups stood out to her in rather different ways one was adorable and the other rather whimsical. But two others wold catch her sparkling blue eyes a woman that she recognised as well if only briefly Nikita could not put her finger on this girl her emotions seemed dim and lost as if her spirit was not all there. It was a sad state Nikita had never faced before she wanted to help the gorgeous women but now would not be the time as she was unsure of the women’s standing in the games. And last but not least a man who she had noticed dancing earlier and yet apart from his obvious skill he was standing out along the wall he was what Nikita called an emotional mess, everything including his aura seemed doubled like he was two people in one at the moment the other half seemed deeply buried so deeply that anyone with any less of her spiritual abilities backing her empath would never know.
This triggered her curiosity all of them did they all where interesting enough she wanted to investigate yet just as she stepped forward the words of the king pulled her back. She was to keep herself as out of sight as possible and if discovered to lie through her teeth. Interrogation and informational wise she was far to valuable an asset to be discovered otherwise to the naked eye she seemed to on the light side of the spectrum to belong to team three however she did. Nikita looked on once again before taking another step forward where that would take her was a mystery even to her.

The voice that once reached out now quietly smiles... I denied it all and shut my eyes... Melt the world away and turn it into a lie...
The incubus backed off at that, sensing it made her more uncomfortable than it made him. He decided to finish off the brownie and used the napkin to wipe at the corner's of his mouth for any crumbs. His throat felt a bit dry and it gave him an excuse to change the subject, saying, "I could use something to drink. I can tell there's wine, but I've never cared for it. There should be water, but I'm having trouble telling where it is."
His hands began to feel around on the table of food. He felt a glass and checked the scent, but it was wine so he put it back. He tried another, but it was wine again, he kept trying until he felt someone else take his hand and hand him a different glass. He guessed it was a servant, as they quickly moved off without a word. This one was definitely water and he took a few sips to cool his throat.
He sensed where his conversation partner was and said, "So... do you have any family or traveling companions?" He'd heard that it wasn't uncommon for people to travel with others, and since they were going to be on teams it was worth knowing if she had worked with others before. He wasn't used to being around people, but his natural instincts made him mesh into social situations fairly well.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⊰Dahlia⊱ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Team 1 "I have seen things in my journeys that most can only dream of. Literally."
The elf remained silent for a moment, letting him finish what he was eating, possibly the brownie or another one. Giving a slight nod when he spoke up about getting something to drink. Dahlia was about to assist him on finding it but heard a pair of footsteps approach them. "Excuse me." The female voice said to them. Hearing only silence that lasted a few seconds before the woman's footsteps moved elsewhere.
Guessing that it might've been a servant coming to help him. Picking up the sound of the man sipping on his drink. Maybe I should say something. But it was too late to think on another topic to talk about. Listening to him change the conversation to family and any companions that accompanied her on her travels. "I've only traveled with my mother in the forests of Malandaia. We... never really remained in one spot for too long. If we did.. I wouldn't be here nor would my mother." Dahlia swallowed a bit before continuing to speak.
Green eyes stare out at people dancing, hearing laughter and giggles. "I.. don't know who my father is. My mother never really mentioned him at all when I was young. Just me and her against the world." She quickly added and shrugged. "Do you have any family or someone close?" Dahlia asked. Would make it fair between them if he shared a bit more about his life. This certainly mysterious and yet interesting. OOC: Dahlia getting a little shy whee COMPANY │ x Man (Vemoras) and other people__LOCATION │ x Ballroom__ATTIRE │ x Dress and mask.

<-> Vemoras <-> -Fighting for Zeladis-
The voice that once reached out now quietly smiles... I denied it all and shut my eyes... Melt the world away and turn it into a lie...
Vemoras listened again, understanding the reasons for staying on the move, in theory anyway. Mentioning Malandaia implied she might be on their team, but he couldn't say for sure yet. He smiled to himself and said, "It sounds like you and your mother got along rather well, for you to have traveled together." He couldn't imagine traveling with someone he disliked for very long, though he could guess it was inevitable he would dislike someone here, just not his current conversation partner.
When she probed after his own family, he paused carefully before saying, "I... don't remember much of my parents. I know they're still alive, but not much else beyond that. We've been... separated for a long time." He paused and tried to remember something else about his family and said, "I had a younger sister, though. We played often as children, but I was... taken away. I don't know where she is anymore." There was a clear sense of regret and loneliness regarding his family in his voice, but he didn't seem desperate to seek them out.
As a slave he was taught to not think about life beyond the walls he lived in. No dream was to be more than simple things, and to be prepared for those to falter at every turn. The thoughts weighed on him and he found it difficult to remain floating. He tried to listen around, see if he could pick up on the sound of someone getting up from a chair or something. He voiced his thought, saying, "I... I think I should sit down somewhere." He finally heard it, the odd click of a heel as someone's weight adjusted and the creak of a wooden frame. It was close and he floated toward it, free hand outstretched to find the edge of it and keeping an ear out in case someone else approached it.
His hand bumped against plush fabric and some wood and he kept contact, figuring out the shape of it quickly. It was more of a couch-like seat and thankfully empty. He used the armrest as a guide to sit down and absently tapped the glass in his hands with a nail. Then he remembered his conversation partner and tapped a bit louder so she could find where he was. He even spoke up, saying, "There's a... couch here... I think..." He made a point to tuck his tail and fins under the couch so she didn't step or trip on them by accident as well.
