I've never been a competitive battler. I wanted to get started and maybe learn how to create a good competitive team. I thought Smogon was the place to be in terms of learning how to be a competitive battler on Pokemon. But after checking out their website, signing up for an account with them, and then discovering that I had to compete for 5-10 slots for a "tutor" I gave up. I also didn't agree with their placement of some of the Pokemon in certain tiers. I just want a team of my favorites!
I'm one of those people who doesn't have time to train or breed my own team but I have NEVER considered cheating to do it. I just figured I might find somebody to breed one to start with and I could find someone else to do another and so on.
If Smogon is encouraging cheating I want no part of it!
By the way, anybody want to teach me competitive battling strategy? biggrin
