Ari gave a nod of acknowledgement to Vivian, flashing a smile before it morphed into an expression of curiosity as somebody new rushed in. "Oh," Ari's smile pressed together a little. "Charlotte! Welcome back. I'm the new Lucian head."
With that she turned all of her attention onto Aerykah. It probably wouldn't be good to talk too much to Charlotte in front of others -- something about the girl made Ari want to bully her a little. Ari listened patiently to Aerykah's explanation, an amused smile curving up her cupid-bow lips. "How cute, an alliance! Nothing less from the more benevolent houses." She replied with a giggle. "As for us Lucians...I suppose you didn't see the notice I posted outside. Well before Charlotte over there entered we had the least amount of people, so I simply told the other two to do what they want. Lucian mindset and all, you know? " Ari flashed a mildly apologetic smile.
"I myself am kinda preoccupied, so I won't be able to attend the Hunt. I'm really sorry! If it makes you feel any better, I did tell them alliances with anyone other than Ekaterina was okay?" She gave a mischevious grin, holding her hands behind her back. "Don't worry, Naomi won't have any of the Lucians to help her in your little tussle."

The weeks went by for Blake, and he made sure to learn everything he could. He would occasionally talk to Kili and a few others, but he kept more to himself. The lessons became more complex and Blake seemed to be doing quite well. He walked into the common room writing runes in the air with his wand using the spell air marks. He smiled as he walked along, "I love using magic," he thought to himself. He sat down on the sofa and drew four runes in the air infront of him. He concentrated on the marks and managed to keep them up for just under a minute before they fell apart.

For once, Ari had actually come back after break on time. Usually the girl was inclined to stay a few more days at home, but for once she hadn't been crushed underneath her workload. The fourth year entered the Lucian dorms with a pair of enormous bags on either one of her arms, working in her mouth what was probably a piece of gum.
"How nice!" The fourth year remarked with a giggle, observing the rather clean state of her common room. "Nobody made a mess while I was gone."
Well, as far as she was concerned most of the Lucian students hadn't stayed over break anyways. The fact that the common room was even more quiet than usual was evidence enough for that. Ari thought of Charlotte and frowned to herself. She was going to need somebody new to entertain herself with for the rest of the year at this rate. Where could one find a slave as perfect as Charlotte?
Dropping her enormous bags near one of the sofas, Ari plopped down onto one of the couches and took out her phone. No charge. Darn it!

Blake walked out of the boys dorms and into the common room. He was starring at his new channeling ring he received in the post, a silver channeling ring with sigils encircling a larger sigil in the center. He would have to start practicing with it asap. He was slightly annoyed the ring makers took so long on the job but he did have to remember he asked or it to be made under a certain moon phase. He walked into the room and noticed a girl who had obviously just got back from the holidays. "Oh hello" he said while looking away awkwardly. He still had not gotten over his fear of meeting new people.

The sound of footsteps caught Ari's attention, and her eyes fell on the rather nervous looking boy who had greeted her. A perky smile immediately crossed her lips, and she gave a little wave.
"Hi there!" Ari cheerfully greeted. " I don't suppose I've noticed you yet, even though I'm technically the head of this house. Ah, well! I'm Ariadne, fourth year."
Ari scanned the boy head to toe, recognizing him vaguely but unable to come up with a name. Her eyes caught on the ring the boy was fiddling with. "That's quite the channeler you have there! That is a channeler, right? As a mage I have an eye for these things, you know~"
Well, at least socializing with this mousy kid would help Ari get back into the habit of putting on her fake friendly girl persona. Even if it was just small talk and there was basically nobody in her house, she might as well get acquainted with the other students now that Charlotte wouldn't be around for her to bully.

Blake looked back up to the girl and held his hand out, "I am Blake Costerdane, I am a first year," he introduced. "I missed the opening ceremony so this is the first time I have seen you," he admitted. This girl seemed alright, Blake had not spent long talking to her so it would be difficult to see if she was genuinly ok to talk with. He looked down at his ring and nodded. "Yeah silver ring with a pendulus encchantment, commissioned it a while ago and recently got it ready for the charms class demos." he explained." The wand was not going to work with the more complex spells, plus I like casting spells with my hands so this will work perfectly," he said while talking more confidently than before. " So your a mage right? I was thinking of being an air mage myself," he admitted.

Well, he liked to talk at least. Ari stared at the hand offered to her for a few seconds. She wasn't exactly in the business of shaking hands. She was surprised that anyone nowadays shook hands.
Ari saved herself the trouble and just high-fived Blake, smiling and nodding at his explanation of the ring. "Well, if you directly wanted to use your hands I'd suggest becoming a Mystic." She flashed a smile. "But what a coincidence! I'm a wind-using mage myself."

The door opened and Scarlett walked in, a rolling suitcase in one hand and a sketchbook clutched tightly in the other. She stopped upon seeing the two people in the commons, and then put her head down and went the long way around. If there was one thing she wanted to avoid her first day, it was making a fool of herself in front of people she would be living with for the next four years.
Naturally, she did that almost immediately. Scarlett's foot caught under the edge of a carpet and down she went with a thump. Without missing a beat, Scarlett stood up, dusted herself off, and kept walking, hoping neither of the two people would stop her.

Wow, Was the first thing Ariadne thought as her eyes fell on the girl that had tripped her way into the common room. She looked relatively docile.
"Hi there!" Ari called out. The only troublesome part about being head of house was that you had to talk to everybody. It was a good thing Ari was good at charming people. "I'm guessing you're new student one out of two. I'm Ariadne, fourth year, house rep, mage in training. Blah blah, come to me if you have any problems!"
Ari gave a thumbs up from her position on the couch.

The common room seemed infinitely more peaceful without Ariadne's tense presence there, but at the same time Muna felt like it was lacking something very significant.
Sound, maybe? Nah, nobody had been stupid enough in the first place to make a lot of noise. Muna hadn't exactly gotten to know his fellow housemates seeing as he never seemed to run into them save for when they all went to their dormroom to sleep, but they all seemed like quiet types.
With those relatively mundane thoughts in mind Muna entered his commonroom with a giant collection of flowers in a rather pretty vase. He scanned the commonroom before approaching the cherrywood table placed off to the side, placing the mass of flowers in the middle.
"Well," Bijan remarked next to him after a moment of silence where the two observed the flowers on the table. "At least this place looks less like the livingroom of some goddamn rich man who pretends he knows how to use a sword and has a fetish for red. Now it just looks like his wife tried to brighten up his manspace with no regards to his fragile masculinity."
All we need now is fancy piano music Muna signed to his fairy.
"Hah!"
The two exited the commons.

Up in the dorm, Scarlett was struggling.
The canvas was very difficult to move on her own. Not because it was heavy, because it was bulky. She didn't want to call anyone for help, either. Ari was busy with her own stuff, Gilrin had better things to do, and Muna... well, she didn't know Muna very well, but he seemed very nice.
Scarlett gave up on moving the canvas and put it back down on the easel, dressed in a jumper, a loose shirt, and stockings. Her hair was tied back, and her skin was flecked with various shades of green and yellow. How to get this thing downstairs... oh, right. She wasn't used to solving her problems with magic, so of course the thought hadn't occurred to her. Scarlett pulled her paintbrush from her belt and Levitated the painting off the canvas. Satisfied, she started leading it downstairs.
Scarlett wound her way around the flowers and started looking for an open space on the wall to put her painting. It was pretty massive, and could easily take up an entire wall. She didn't want to take down any of the other portraits, but if she had to...
