Almualim... I don't know much else I'm afraid, which is what I was hoping to learn from this god-forsaken city. Turns out it did more harm than good so far. He said looking up at the wrecked shop. It only brought more questions... He wondered about the old man and if he was able to escape the building as well. What on Earth, Magic or otherwise, could be the Hunters of the Twelve?
The crowd quickly lost interest and the background noise of commerce resumed. The occasional scream in the distance of a crime in progress drew less attention than a stranger's cough. He walked towards the way the little girl had vanished, and paused for a moment and looked around for a bit. Of all people to run into in this city, you seem to be the only two that would help me... He turned back around to face them. Will you join me for a moment longer? I'm..... lost. His hand scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.

We can fight our desires
But when we start making fires
We get ever so hot
Whether we like it or not

She’s like so whatever
You could do so much better
I think we should get together now

With pleasantries out of the way it was finally time to focus on the more important information, such as who the hell this man was and why they happened to find him hunted by some crazy lady. Almualim seemed more confused and lost than he had hoped for, apparently he came here in search of answers but was left with more, and a strangely calm attitude after having his life put at risk. Fauna put her hands on her hips, this man was so strange, he seemed quite out of place. You wouldn't normally find yourself in the City of God if you're, well, clueless. She tilted her head at his second comment, saying they'd help him. And as he admitted to being lost Fauna blinked slowly and looked to Quin'in without moving her head.

She never really gave it much thought, the two of them were really just thrill seekers that were looking for adventure whilst getting through their personal goals along the way. But when someone as mysterious as this comes by, she didn't want to let it go. She looked back to him and said "I'm sure we can help you out of this place". Fauna then pinched her nose and added "I'll be glad to leave, this wretched place stinks of alcohol and piss".

I'm going in for the kill
I'm doing it for a thrill
Oh I'm hoping you'll understand
And not let go of my hand

But what is love without lust?
Two hearts with accurate devotions
And what are feelings without emotions?

She listened to his story and was greatly disappointed once more by this city and place of civilization that they would not help a person in need. In the bowels of this city's squallier, vs standing together to make things better, instead individual thrived off of the pain of others.

Smiling though Quin'in nodded, having caught Fauna's glance her way and their mutual agreement on assisting reached. "I'm sure we are nearly as lost as yourself, but as my friend so eloquently put it, we are long over due for a departure. Together we should be able to fine our way with little struggle."

That said, Quin'in stepped forward to shoo off the crowd forming, though her words hushed and soft, the wave of the bow in her hand and the arrows at her waist letting them all know she was armed and clearly dangerous with the aim she had. The homeless and curious wandered off leaving their path open.

"Shall we," she offered, gesturing towards the higher under levels of the city, when in doubt, when at the bottom, always try up.

Alright! Felling better that he had company in this cruel town he followed them around for a bit, but could not shake the feeling that he was being watched. At first he suspected that the girl, who announced herself as "Bee", was following them. That was no longer the suspicion as he noticed the towns people watching him closely, if not all three. They walked around looking for a stairs or ladder to ascend for what felt like an hour. The longer they stayed, the more the eyes burned into the back of his head. It grew on his nerves and felt compelled to ask the others if they felt the same.
He closed the gap in their group to whisper his suspicion to them when suddenly, a bag was dropped over his face. The assailant was strong but Almualim was determined and shook his head free from the sack. Swinging his arms he slapped away what felt like two people and yanked the bag off his head. Looking around his could see the two attackers grunting in pain against the walls to his sides, and others like them attempting bags over the girls' faces. It seemed they were as capable of defending themselves as he. "It would be advised not to struggle," a voice echoed down the alleyway they had wandered into. "You are under arrest for the destruction of private property, the demolition of a building, assault with deadly weapons, ensuing a riot, and now battery on law enforcement!"
Almualim more scoffed at the idea that there was any law in this town but that they were arresting them, or at least attempted to. And what if we decide not to be arrested? He shouted back at the voice with no visual of who it was. "As you may have noticed," it replied with the undertone of a chuckle," There is no escape of the underbelly of our city without our consent. It's our method of keeping the less sociable types away from the merchants and commerce on the surface. Welcome to Ghreed."

Fauna led the way, she always thought herself good at leading and matter-or-fact she was the one to rush to the front anyway. She was probably just as aware as the others when she began to notice how certain individuals in the crowds were staring at them. She kept herself quiet about her thoughts as they passed some railings and went up some steps to a higher area. It took them long enough to find a way out of the underbelly of the cut-throat golden city and she had to admit she was happy to be slightly higher - even if it was almost the same up here as down there. From the corner of her eyes she could still notice it, one or two now, were there less or were they getting better at staying out of sight? Some moments later Almualim began to say something before becoming muffled. Hearing a struggle she turned around, she should have predicted what had happened.

He shook himself free, his wannabe captors being thrown back from his force. But just as quickly as she could witness the act on him, she felt a bag come over her and darkness surround her. Her heart began pumping without her having a chance to think, with a heavy breath she threw her arms behind her and grabbed her mystery attacker by the scruff of his shoulders and with a grunt threw him over her. Once she heard hsi cry and the thud of his body on the ground she whipped off the bag and threw it aside, "that was bloody rude!" she exclaimed, grabbing her weapon as it unfolded to rifle form. She swung it around behind her whilst keeping an eye on her attacker on the ground, warding off other attackers from behind her for the second. She grunted and with her spare hand felt her side, she pulled something. Looking over her shoulder she saw that Quin'in suffered a similar victory, eyeing some of their attackers gathering she stepped up to the one on the ground and put a heel on his chest, "If you wanted pillow-talk you should've asked" she said, then kicking him round the face and knocking him out. She quickly backed up with the other two.

Someone was talking out loud just then, saying something about law enforcement and whatever else she couldn't be bothered to hear. She raised a brow, this guy was talking sh*t if she had to say so herself. Almualim questioned the law enforcer, who then replied with a warning of no escape. Fauna couldn't help but retort with "Last time I checked you pigs were the worst gamblers here." she curtsied to take the piss and said "loving Ghreed already" with a wink.

Between the curiosity that was the new stranger and the underbelly of the city itself, there was plenty for Quin to look at. Sending glances to the male named Almaualim, his presence was different to her in a way she could no describe. Perhaps a later time she could dwell on that fact a bit better and examine the presence of him in her own fae way at a later date. For the moment they needed to get out of the slums of the city.

Caught in her thoughts and glances about the area, Quin'in failed to notice the assaults coming at them. Only when a flash of movement and scuffle began did she look and find both Fauna and their new companion struggling with possible guards and bags over their heads.

"Fau-!" Quin'in's cry was cut short from a bag of her own being forced over her head. Abandoning her sight for the moment in favor of fighting and struggling, a quick knee and elbow in certain areas left the assailants on the ground groaning. Tossing the bag aside the fae woman glowered down at the guards, one holding his groin the other his bleeding nose; in all likelihood broken.

Companions doing alright themselves guards of the city came forward an issued an order for their arrest for the damages from the fight earlier. Quin'in was outraged at this clear disrespectful and down right improper performance of law-enforcement.

"We were the ones attacked; we were defending ourselves, as is our right," she stated firmly taking a threatening step forward. "If you didn't wish for struggle or harm on your men, then do not force bags over trained fighter's heads. Its stupidity on your part not to think we wouldn't fight back in such a situation."

OOC: sry about the waaaaaay late reply, i had character block and then i accidentally forgot about this threat. my bad! if this line of thought/plot is dead, double sorry.

What a welcome party they have here, he said half to himself and half to the two women. He looked up at the ceiling to the subterranean part of town and wondered the position of the sun. He let out a sigh and fell into a lean on the nearest wall, pulling it his golden pipe, putting it to his lips and lighting the pungent foliage. He looks at the girls and lets out a plume of smoke from his nostrils.
Wwith a quick thrust, he impales his sword into the ground and takes another pull from the pipe. I am Almualim, he began to explain while smoke trailed his breath, careful the fumes blew away from their faces. I don't know who I am or where I came from but what I do know is the things I have are mine. This pipe of gold I can't bring myself to sell, and this sword of crimson nobody seems to want. Only I can lift its weight as it rejects any other master, or something. My search for answers has led me here although I'mstarting to suspect the clues were placed there intentionaly as bait. He rubbed his chin as he admired the features of the women he shared company with. Since we have some time to kill, what do I owe the pleasure of you two lovely ladies?

Quin'in couldn't have spoken a truer word, she and Fauna were formidable even when playing around, but this time they were faced with real opponents that probably wanted to do more than just arrest them. "They obviously think we're some kind of bimbo" Fauna mused. But then Almualim started speaking, plunging his sword into the ground and lighting up a flame to his pipe. Fauna looked around anxiously, but then crossed her arms and cocked her hip to one side as she waited for Almualim or the enemies to actually do something. He finally ended on asking them what pleasure's he owed to them, and Fauna raised a sharp brow. "Well" she began, unfolding her blade again, but this time it was in rifle mode. "Perhaps you could tend to these ugly mugs and then we can pillow talk, or do we have to do all the work ourselves?". Her voice turned to a whisper when she added "I'm not particularly patient, I lose interest quickly"

"She truly doesn't," spoke up Quin, amusement on her face as she elaborated on her companion's lack of patience. "When she does it doesn't always end up pretty...for others. It's something I'm working with her on." The last bit was to tease her friend a bit, the 'pillow talk' that Fauna so often liked refer it as though still strange to the fae, she was catching on to gradually.

As for the body guys though, she wanted them taken care of quickly; she did not care for being man handled. But too pass the time and to ease the tension of the stand off they presently were in, Quin'in answered Almualim.

"We travel around... we were presently bored when we stumbled upon you, or rather Fauna did; I like always seem to come along for the ride," she said with a sigh, as if Quin was dragged reluctantly along rather then sub-willingly. Things were never really truly boring with Fauna which when Quin left her home she was looking for just that.

It did get exhausting however.

He stroked his red stubble with one hand as the other slipped his pipe away in a pocket somewhere within his clothing. The assailant's words were foreboding as they fled through a stairway and locked the door behind them. The doors and windows, if they could be called wooden shutters, slamming shut and the torches that dotted this underground city began to go out. Closer and closer the darkness began to close in on their back alley. At the same instant of the final door close, the final torch that stood only a few feet away lost its warm comforting flame to a cool and unforgiving blackness.
Even this level of blindness did Almualim feel like he could see his breath in the sudden cold. The vague shapes of his companions began to form as his pupils adjusted. Well, now dusk in the desert. What has them so coordinated anyway? He held out a palm upward and tried to make out it's shape in the darkness. Of the keeper of the flame, Release Quiet Ember.
A small flame formed in his hand, and despite it's small size, gave off a strong heat. The light flickered and made the shadows dance as he walked to the intersection of the alleyway. The small flame seemed to be the only light in the entire subsection. He tried to light the torches but they go out in a matter of seconds as if doesed by water. A monsterous howl echoes through the chamber and makes it difficult to determine wether it was far away or around the corner. Almualim backs away from the main path back to the group and silently pulls his blade from the ground. He clenches the small flame in his fist and the darkness was once more.

With their pursuers gone, it would seem that the enforcers of this city were more scared pig than they were servers of justice. Though Fauna never really expected them to live up to the Syndicate's expectations. But what came next worried her, when she had believed to be standing outside in the middle of day, even beneath the towering buildings of the once Asmodian fortress, it appeared night had suddenly fallen or they had moved beneath ground.

"Fear" Fauna replied, squinting and hoping her eye-sight would comply with her. Luckily Almualim had them covered however, and spawned a small ball of light. she could feel the warmth from where she stood and quietly greeted it. Finding the outlines and then the smaller details of her companion she stepped closer to her. "This can't spell anything good" she said, watching Almualim attempt to light the torches, but they fire wouldn't bite, "spell being rather self-explanatory by the looks of things. Sorcery apparently".

That was when the howl echoed through the area, she could tell the direction but had no idea how far it might be from them. "I don't remember the Black Market selling monsters..." she mused, pulling out her spear and letting it shift into dual-pistol mode before splitting them apart.
