Tammy opened her eyes all the way, looking straight at Briar.
She started to sit up, only to lay back down again. She moaned in pain. "Yes, Briar? What is it?" It was kinda sad to wake up, but it was fine. She would have to sooner or later.

Briar checked her pulse, scowling. He couldn't tell if she was in shock, or if she was just tired, or if it was something worse. "Did you mention the smell to anyone and did anybody see you come this way?" he asked urgently. He should have asked this earlier, but he hadn't thought of it.
Maybe he just watches too many movies.

Tammy sat still while he checked her pulse as if the slightest move might mess up the results. She nodded to his question.
"Yeah, I did actually." She pointed vaguely over out the door.
"It was at the market. There were a few people, like, 3? Yeah. 3 people. And when I mentioned the smell, they all looked away. Didn't answer me or anything. It wasn't exactly normal behavior."
Tammy paused to remember the answer to his other question.
"I guess they might've seen me run away, but I'm not sure. I was just trying to get out of there fast." She brushed her hair out of her face to get a better view of Briar.

Briar scowled. That was definatly not a good sign. Also, if those people did kill Ted, then they are pretty stupid murderers. That would make anybody suspicious!
"Can you remember who those people were? Could they have seen you come here?" Briar asked as he got up.
Just to be safe, he shut and locked all the windows and the back door. Only the front door was open, and he could see it from where he sat next to Tammy. "Also, are you having any difficulty breathing?" Her pulse wasn't particularly weak, but it did seem fast. Though that could be from running.

Tammy frowned. She did not know those people at all.
"Uh... no. I don't really... It's not that I don't remember them, it's just that I don't know who they are. They probably live all the way on the other side of town." Tammy shook her head. "Like I said, I'm not sure. I was just trying to get away from the smell, I felt like puking."
She shook her head again.
"After that nap, I felt refreshed. I guess I am a little hot though." She noticed she hadn't taken off her jacket yet, and slipped it off onto the ground.

Briar cursed and ran his hand through his hair again. "Well, I guess that might explain their reaction a bit. If they didn't know you, then they'd be less likely to talk to you, right? Still suspicious though."
He stood and stretched his back, glad that he could stop worrying that she was going to go into a coma or something. "At least you are feeling better; that's good."

Tammy smiled slightly. Huh. He actually worried about me.
"Thanks. No need to worry anymore. I am sorta back to my normal self."
She then thought of something.
"Actually.. when I went over to talk to them, I remember them asking if I was okay. If they talked, wouldn't they expect a conversation?"
She looked at her hands trying to piece together the information. Suspicious indeed.

Briar stared at her. "Really? Well, s**t. That's really suspicious. We'll need to tell all of this to the police once they get here. Maaan, this is really messed up." He wiped his glasses on his shirt and started pacing again.

Tammy nodded. Yep. You could say that again.
"Yeah." She said lamely, not knowing what else to say.
As if on cue, a police car pulled up beside the house making a loud screeching sound. Other police officers were there along with an ambulance.
Hmp. Tough luck trying to save him. He's dead already. She thought angrily to herself.

Briar jumped at the sound of tires screeching and ran to open the front door. The ambulance made sense; it was probably there to take the body to the morgue. "Finally! Pizza deliveries take less time to get here!"

Tammy sat straight up, wide awake.
Took them long enough. She whispered.
Without hesitaion, the police started taking pictures of the body and everything policeman do.
When they were done, they took no time to walk over to where Briar was. The chubby policeman smiled and got out a notepad.
"Ah, hello..." he gestured him to say his name.
Nothing happened. So he continued. "Well, seems we have a big case here. Would you and.." the policeman points to Tammy. "that girl come with me, please? We just want to see what you guys know."

"Yeah, sure. Where are we going?" Briar asked, slightly cautious. Policemen can be murderers, too! He linked arms with Tammy. In case she started feeling sick again or something happens that would separate them. He was still a bit worried about that. If she started feeling bad again, he'd just demand the paramedics to help her.

Tammy watched the policeman closely, and then Briar. Both of them didn't seem to trust each other already. That's just great.
She blinked at the sudden act of action, but she knew. He was also nervous. Either that or just worried again. Briar can sometimes be hard to crack.
The policeman replaced his smile with something more serious. He walked in a little closer and answered. "Just to the station. It'd be safer than to do all that here, you know? We just started, so we really don't know if the murderer is still around." He started to back up. "So, you coming?"

Briar glowered and looked to Tammy. Then he nodded to her and led her after the officer. "Let's be sure not to make any classic horror movie mistakes, yeah? That would suck," he chattered. As they passed Ted's cold body, he used his own to casually block it from Tammy's view while continuing to talk, though he was sure to take a good look at the scene.

Tammy nodded. "I'll try not to."
She could tell her was trying to block Ted from her, since when she tried to get a glimpse of him he got in the way. Oh well. It's nothing I really need to relive. She told herself.
The police officer arrived to his car and opened the door for them. It would have to be a tight squeeze. "Please excuse the size, this is a practice car. My normal one is at the shop."
Tammy blushed. They were both squished together in the car so tightly. She had never been that close to him.
