Silvia May
She smiled, looking toward him. "You are a kind man. Thank you. Yes, he is quite a conversation starter..." She chuckled lightly, thinking herself silly for acting like that. She nodded, agreeing with him. "You are right, I'm sorry Marcus. I'm just not acting myself today." She said, taking a deep breath.

She looked to him, hearing him talk about her mother. She stopped, thinking about her."I have never seen what she does to be for my well being, she lies to people, and it is because of that, that we're looked down on..." She said, looking to the clouds. "It looks like rain, we should head inside... And I agree with you on that, I do not wish to marry someone I do not love, let alone have just met..." She said, smiling to him and standing up. "Come, let's get something to eat, my parents will probably be waiting to see us anyway." She said, waiting for him to go inside.

Marcus Nathaniel Bremont

Marcus stood, nodded, and followed Silvia back inside. Phew! At least I can have a decent conversation with her. I just hope we can save ourselves from this marriage somehow. Now that he had entered the house more calmly, he was able to admire the beautiful decorations in it. "You have a beautiful home Silvia." he walked around admiring the portraits hanged on the walls, his hands behind him as he observed. He was so regal and handsome. Marcus thought Silvia was really beautiful as well.

A small scar could be admired from the left side of the face of Marcus. It was a small scar, but it was still noticeable if seen from close by. Marcus had obtained that scar in one of his fights in a war. Yes, he had already gone to war, but luckily, not much tragedy happened. He was known for being a fearless warrior.

Silvia lead Marcus through the house to the dining area, calling a butler over for them. "Thank you, Marcus. It's not much, but I love it..." She said, smiling warmly. She thought him very handsome herself, looking perfectly in place with his hands behind him. "What would you like to eat? I'm in the mood for pasta, myself." She asked, looking towards the butler who stood waiting for an order. "Yes, I think I'll have some angel hair with alfredo sauce." She said, and the butler nodded, waiting for Marcus' request.

She looked towards Marcus, and saw his scar. She looked at it carefully. "I never noticed it in the garden.... But, where did you get your scar, if you don't mind me asking...." She asked, looking at him questioningly.

Marcus Nathaniel Bremont

Marcus first responded to the butler's question. "I would like have the same. Please." he said nicely. One of the reasons this marriage was taking place was to help Silvia's family with their reputation. The Bremont nobles were very well known and respected. Having answered the butler's question, Marcus now turned to Silvia.

"It's fine. This scar, unfortunately, I acquired it during a battle in the last war the kingdom had. I was fortunate to have an arrow only touch the edge of my cheek, which is what left this scar. War is so tragic... Winning means making victims to your opponents and give birth to hatred..." he said letting out a sigh. He had lost a close friend in that war. It had been a dirty war. A lot of noble were involved.... Traitors....

Usually, his scar wasn't visible to his victims whenever he had to murder them as the noble assassin due to the mask that covered it. And whenever the scar was visible, no one recognized it since they didn't know that Marcus had one like it.

The butler nodded, walking off to the kitchen to have their food prepared for them. She nodded. "War is such a tragic thing. I don't think anyone wins with war. Everyone loses something..." She said, her hand reaching up and touching the scar unconsciously.

She pulled her hand away slowly, looking to him. "I hope that this is the only memory you have that is painful is any way.... So many good men lose their lives in wars, it's terrible..." She said, sitting down and folding her hands on the table. She hated war, it was bloody and cruel, even if it was necessary for some things.

Marcus didn't move when Silvia touched his scar. He didn't mind particularly, but he wasn't used to others touching his face or anything. "Let us change subject, please. I must insist. Last thing I desire is to make such a beautiful lady as yourself sad. Let us not ruin the mood, yes?" he said offering her a kind smile and a brief chuckle. Seriously, who would believe this guy was the feared assassin?

Anyways, Marcus sat on his assigned seat and quietly sat there. "You know, in all honesty, this meeting wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. For some reason I expected some kind of uncomfortable situation where I wouldn't be able to even get along with my fiance". For some reason, now he started to doubt whether their wedding would take place or not. He knew that later today he would have to "warn" some other kind of noble about his death if he did not turn himself in to the royal guards.

Unlike popular believe, the noble assassin did warn his victims and gave him a choice, but unfortunately, they all made the wrong ones... It wasn't as if Marcus enjoyed killing them..

Silvia nodded, smiling back at him. "You're right, we should change the subject." She said. He had such a handsome smile. "I would hate for you to lose such a handsome smile as well. It suits you perfectly..." She said, chuckling lightly.

Soon, the butler returned with their food. She thanked him as he sat the plates down in front of them "Would you care for something to drink?" He asked, and Silvia smiled. "I'll have some water, please." She turned to look at Marcus. "I had the same thoughts, actually. I expected some unsightly man who would only want me as a means of making my family's reputation better...." She said, giggling more. "I'm glad I was wrong, you are a very nice person..." She said, picking up her utensils and eating, being careful not to make a mess with the sauce.

He looked at the butler. "Water as well. Please." he turned his attention to Silvia back again. "Well, I'm glad we didn't weren't what we expected." he chuckled again. "Say, would you accept my invitation to my kingdom next week? It would be an honor having you there." he asked her. Marcus was only interested in her as a friend, as nothing else. Well, at least not yet. Little did he know that eventually he would be deeply in love with her.

"By the way, what do you think of this marriage? Can you see us getting married or do you think there might be a chance of getting ourselves out of this mess?" he asked her.

Silvia munched on her pasta as she listened to him. "It would be an honor to be there, I would love to go." She said, smiling and wiping her mouth off before taking a sip of her water. She thought about the marriage. It might not be a bad thing, but she still did not want it if she was not in love. "Well, I don't know how to get out of it now, but if things don't turn around for the better we still have a year to think of a way." She said, chuckling as she sat there.

He nodded. "Alright. Well, I will expect you next week then." he said with a smile. He nodded to to her response to his question about the marriage. "True. Let us just hope that the assassin doesn't get the best of us." Marcus then proceeded to eat his past and drink some water.

The chit chat continued during most of the time. Soon, it was time for Marcus to leave. They had just finished lunch. "I'm afraid it is time for my departure. It was a real pleasure to meet you. I do not see your parents nearby so please do give them my farewells." he said bowing to Silvia and kissing the top of her hand. He was very well mannered.

Unfortunately, tonight was the night he had to warn Silvia's mother about her death. Yes, the noble assassin would make an appearance tonight at the May's estate. I just hope I don't encounter with Silvia while I come here at night. Still.. I don't think she would be able to recognize me with the mask on. It covers most of my face. he thought. He had forgotten Silvia had seen his scar.

She smiled, nodding at him. She chuckled lightly. "Yes, that would be most unfortunate." She said, and continued to eat her pasta.

When they finished and he started for his departure, she walked him to his ride and smiled warmly. "And It was a pleasure meeting you as well. I will give them your farewell. And I will see you next week." She said, blushing when he kissed her. She waited until he left then she walked back inside, finding her parents in the study. "Marcus just left, but he wished for me to tell you both farewell. I'll be going to his kingdom next week to spend some more time with him." She said, smiling at them. It wasn't that bad of a day. Her parents smiled and started talking with her about him.

After dinner she spent time in the garden, singing lightly. Her mother came out and sat down next to her, trying to spend some time with her daughter. "I'm sorry you think so ill of me, Silvia. You know I love you very much." She said, and as Silvia finished her song, she looked to her mother. What Marcus had said filled her head, and she nodded. She tried to get along with her mother, and started talking to her about what she had done, all the lies she told. Her mother had not been proud of the lies, but she claimed they were done to help the family. Silvia listened, not liking the story her mother told. "You are my mother, and though I do not love you fully, I do not condone what you have done.... I don't see any reason to do such a thing..." she reasoned, and the talk continued on well into the night.

Marcus Nathaniel Bremont

It was another 3 hour trip back home, and if he did went indeed back home then Marcus wouldn't be on time to warn Silvia's mother as the assassin. He told his chauffeur to await in town for he had some other issues to attend to before they left. Of course, this were just excuses to remain in town for a while longer. It didn't take long before night fell upon them. It was winter time, which explained why it got dark so soon.

A few hours after he had left, it was finally time to return to the May's estate, but this time Marcus would return as the assassin. His face was covered with his mask. His scar, since it was on the edge of his cheek, it managed to be seen, barely though. Marcus managed to infiltrate the estate and quietly made his way through the kitchen, then through the living room, and eventually he would find his way to the room in which Silvia's mother was in.

Silvia smiled, she had become closer to her mother after talking to her. It had grown very cold out in the garden, so she and her mother walked inside to her bedroom. Silvia sat on the middle of the bed, while her mother sat on the edge. "Mother, do you remember the lullaby you would sing to me as a child? Would you sing it with me?" She asked, feeling childish but wanting to all the same. Her mother nodded and sat more comfortably. Silvia had gotten her voice from her mother, so her mother was very skilled. She started to sing lightly, but soon their voices carried through the house.

Silvia smiled as she sang with her mother, it was like her old, true mother was back. When the song finished she curled into her mother's arms, hugging her tightly. "I'm sorry mother. I should have listened to you before today, I was foolish and stuck up."
"Hush child, it is alright. You are only just becoming an adult, mistakes happen."

((not the best song, but I love it))

Marcus heard singing. Why, of all people and days, did Silvia had to be with her mother singing? He thought she said she hated her. This just complicated things. Well, he just hoped he wouldn't get recognized. He was only going to warn her anyways. Silently, he approached the room, and then... suddenly... boom! He rushed inside the room.

His sword was still put away, but he was still carrying it. His face and his attire made him completely hide his true identity, except for his scar, but he forgot it showed and that Silvia had seen it. "Hello madams. Nice evening?" he asked. He usually appeared friendly to his victims and then he attacked/warned them. "Madam, have you been nice lately?" he said turning to Silvia's mom. His scar being visible to Silvia.

Slivia shot up, staring at the assassin that stood in her room. She looked at her mother. "So you truly did do evil things...." She whispered. She just got her mother back, she was listening to what Marcus told her. She was shaking, but when she looked at the assassin talking to her mother, she noticed the scar. It was faint, but there. That scar... She thought, she saw it before. Marcus had one from the war he was in. She didn't say anything, but moved away from her mother, looking at them both. Silvia's mother sat straight. "I regret nothing that I have done." She said, though Silvia could see her mother shaking with fear. She was the one who feared the man the most out of the family. Silvia shook her head, confused at her mother. "I love you mother....I hate your actions, but today showed me that you aren't who I thought you were...." She said, saying goodbye to her mother, she knew that no one the assassin met with lived.

Her mother stood up, walking towards the man. "I know where this is going.... so I will not regret this either..." She said, before slapping the man, even if it did no good with the mask on. She then stood, waiting for her death. She could die easily now that she had talked to her daughter. "I hope Marcus is a good man for you Silvia, tell him I said to behave with my daughter or I will haunt him from my grave..." She said, and closed her eyes, shaking uncontrollably. Silvia could only stare at her mother, then at the scar that was visible. Marcus....
