Motochika: -actually growls when Motonari tugs on the sheets, the material too high quality and delicate for the pirate to even consider risking it being ripped- Quit it, I mean it. I didn't go through all the trouble of getting these sheets for someone without an appreciation of their beauty to rip them to shreds. -tail swishes when Motonari walked away, and he rolled his chocolate-colored eyes- If it's too ridiculous for you, then you can always get the hell out of my house. That's still an option that I think would be great for you to re-consider. -settles down, and rests his head against the wall of the ship, about to fall asleep when out of the corner of his eye he saw the other kitsune shiver- ..... -He frowned across the room, inwardly hating himself for doing what he was about to do. He sighed and stood up from the silk sheets, scooping one up in his jaws carefully and carrying it over to drape it across Motonari, even spreading it out with his nose to ensure the younger male was completely covered. Though the fabric was fairly thin, it was considerably warmer since he had been laying on top of it- There, I even gave you the damn green one so please be quiet so I can sleep.

Motonari: I told you, this is your punishment for-- What are you doing--? *is a little startled by the fact that the other Kitsune was up and near him again, and the fur on the back of his neck bristled as he turned his head toward the larger male, but the moment he felt the soft sheet around him-- Even being spread for his comfort... He could do nothing but sit still in complete astonishment. He had been a complete a** to this salty creature, and yet, here he was, being blanketed by the older male to make sure he was warm. What was this kindness? Was he as stupid as Bada?--* Tch--.... *the thought of his father sleeping alone again tonight shot through his heart like a blazing arrow, making him cringe in the smallest way possible. What was with all of these daft foxes being so kind to him, when his own mother wouldn't even accept his existence? Sure, Motonari was the son of a god, but that hardly meant that he had parents. Bada was more of a worn-down fool that the silver son pitied... Nothing like a father who was supposed to raise his children and teach them ways of the warrior, or even show them how to be kind and courteous to others. And Itztla... He was nothing but a cold-hearted b*****d who bestowed this wretched pelt-colour and blindfold upon Motonari as a curse, and then cast away its entire existence. No matter how hard he tried* ...... Why are you so foolishly kind, Demon of the Seas? All you get it spite in return, and yet you have not once tried to kill me.

Motochika: -speaks sarcastically- You're the son of a god or whatever, right? Well I thought I might make your stay a little more luxurious. You had me thinking I might turn this place into a freaking hotel so just anybody can walk right in and stay the night, so I need to be more welcoming. -turns and walks back to his comfortable nest, wrapping his tail against his side as he lay back down. That snide remark had hardly been the truth, though. Motochika didn't refer to himself as the Demon of the Seas for nothing; it was said that nothing short of an oni fueled his will power and determination in a fight, and those strange legs of his could pierce flesh like the head of a spear if enough power was put into a kick. But despite all of his fame from those who dared to fight him, the marine fox had been raised somewhat simply before taking up the life of a pirate. A firm rule that had been placed into his upbringing was to always keep the house tidy, and to treat guests with at least a smidgen of kindness. He could still remember his plump, but beautiful mother's face and her stern voice as she bit him on the ear before lecturing him for the millionth time. Rather than revealing his past though, he just settling for giving a shark-bite grin- It's all a part of my strategy, until we declare war on each other, of course. Then I'll show you the other side of the coin: why they call me a demon.

Motonari: *falls into a bit of a silence at the sarcasm, having ever only heard it from his mother when the two of them traded venomous blows when he was a kit. No one dared disrespect him like that unless they were stupid. The silence passed between the two of them as the cold wind from the sea brushed over the room, his icy heart actually feeling rather warm in his chest, though, it was probably because of this stupid sheet that Motochika had placed on him, and definitely not because he had actually found someone whom he could respect for being so respectful and so achingly horrible in the same moment. When the idea of war was mentioned, however, Motonari gave a bitter laugh, tucking his maw between his paws like a pup before speaking again* You damned fool... I declared war on you the moment the sun dipped below the horizon, and my eyes were on you instead of my glorious god. *War. It was quite an interesting idea... And to be constantly fighting against this demon Motochika... It almost excited the silver fox. Almost. But then again, Motonari had never been anything close to excited in his life, so how would he know what that sensation was? Secretly, as he felt himself drifting to sleep, he hoped that it felt a little something like this*

The sun was just beginning to rise above the horizon, its light slowly overtaking the darkness of the night. It was a sight that brought the spotted fox such joy that he could barely put it into words, although it wasn't often that he had someone to share them with. Motochika stood up slowly and stretched his muscles, ready to start his day at the crack of dawn like usual, when he suddenly remembered that he was not alone in the sea-faring vessel. Turning quickly, he made sure that the silver colored fox was exactly where he had left him last night and had not moved an inch to disturb his belongings. When the safety of his treasure was ensured, he walked over to the still asleep Motonari and sat down, taking a moment to look over his features when they weren't scowling or snarling at him- Hm... -had to admit to himself that the younger male did have attractive features. His pelt was well-groomed and sweet smelling, and his sharp claws would make a nice asset in a fight. But it was those eyes... Motochika found his stomach knotting slightly at the thought of them; what did they look like? And why were they hidden? It was a mystery that he quite badly found himself wanting to solve, to gaze upon that face in its entirety and to be studied in return- ...Spoiled Prince. -grumbles under his breath before leaning forward and nudging the kitsune with maw- Oi, get up. I got something to show you, and if you miss it you're gonna be sorry. -turns and exits the cabin, walking out on the deck to wait for the sunrise to truly begin-

Motonari: *He had been dreaming... It was a very pleasant dream, starting off with a small ball of light that had surrounded Motonari in the darkness of his mind, and suddenly, he was a kit again, running through the grassy hills before he even knew of his parents twisted relationship. The soft blades tickled his belly as his paws thudded against the earth, having reverted to his clumsy, and playful self as he skidded to a halt when a figure made of ice appeared in his vision, curled up into a figure made of light and warmth. He immediately recognized the two as his parents-- Not a cold-hearted god, nor a blind-hearted fool... But his mother and father. Silently, the figures welcomed him into their presence, two small hoshi no tamas pressed to Itztla's belly. When Motonari had curled up to his mother's side, the god had begun to lick his son's ear, bathing him in what the silver kitsune craved the most: Love and adoration. It was just about to be a settling, warm dream, when the licking immediately turned to a vicious bite, jaws clamping around his young neck like cold daggers splitting into his flesh. 'Spoiled Prince...' came Itztla's voice, and it wasn't two seconds before he felt like he was going to pass out that he awoke with a high-pitched yelp, smacking the back of his head on the side of the ship wall* Nnghh..!! *takes a moment to calm down and process just exactly where he was, and who that other kitsune in the room was, but he immediately settled down as if nothing had happened. And by settled down, obviously, it meant verbally biting the other's head off* You filthy Sea Demon! How dare you try to wake me from my sleep! Did your mother teach you no manners, you ingrate?! *shaking his pelt out Motonari kicked off the comfortable cover, striding stiffly past the other, growling quietly* What's so important that you had to wake me up--.... *is caught speechless by the first rays of sun peeking over the horizon, tendrils of warmth reaching out as if to console Motonari from his nightmare, making him shudder with the overflow of emotion he felt. It wasn't like he had never watched a sunrise before-- Well, okay, it was. In truth, this was the kitsune's first sunrise, and he stopped, mouth slightly agape at the sight before him, wondering how he could miss something so beautiful in all of his life*

Motochika: -ears flick backward at the sudden yelp, but the pirate made no move to check up on the kitsune he had left behind in favor of the salty air. He rolled his eyes as he made himself comfortable and took a seat at the ship's railing- Good morning to you too... -chuckles to himself when Motonari came out of the captain's quarters in such a rage, but was immediately quiet upon watching the golden sun turning the sky and sea water a beautiful coral color- If you really want to worship the sunset, I suggest you convert. My god is a lot better than yours. -had never missed a sunrise in years, and his suspicion had been right that the silver fox probably had the same sort of routine each day. In his mind, that said a lot about the other. To keep staring at a sky losing light... there must be something truly troubling the prince. He turned to watch the other's expression for a little while before walking to the other side of the deck away from the water's edge. Normally the pirate wouldn't give a rat's a** about strangers, but somehow Motonari was different. He almost wanted to share things with the bitter male in hopes of getting him to open up, but for what? Did he want to be friends, or something else..? Motochika gave a little grunt of slight annoyance with himself; he would just keep following his gut's advice until logic finally kicked in and told him to stop- Eh, going to bed on an empty stomach last night really sucks... -was never really picky about what he ate, but he figured he might as well ask the son of a god what might be pleasant for breakfast- What do you want to eat? There are a lot of gull and turtle eggs nearby that would be easy to get a hold of... but if that's no good, the sea fish won't be biting right now so I'd have to go inland to catch some.

Motonari: *was quiet for awhile, almost as if he hadn't heard the other kitsune's words-- But he had. The sun was the sun, wasn't it? Were they appreciating the beauty of the same god, then? It was impossible. Whatever this morning light was, was far too warm and promising to be the same sun that sank below the horizon, leaving him every night, though he wanted, so badly, for it to stay* ... Eat..? *drawn out of his thoughts by the thought of food itself, the kitsune finally backed up from his stupor, almost embarrassed that he had lost himself so completely in front of the other. Eggs? Bah, that was ridiculous. That food hardly tasted good unless it had been fried somewhat by the sun, and even then, that was incredibly difficult to do. He would much rather catch the turtle, or the gull...* Your options are less than appetizing. I would rather eat that crustacean atop your head than eat eggs. I will go catch myself a bird, and you may feed on its sloppy eggs. *tail raised, he moved out to the deck, leaping down on the sand with graceful ease, nose turned to the sky to pick up the scent of a plumed creature. He highly doubted that Motochika could catch a bird, even if he wanted to* Hah. What a fool...

Motochika: -quirks a brow when Motonari leaps over the side of the boat, watching the slender kitsune walk across the sand. Catch a bird? Clearly the prince had no idea what kind of a beach he was trying to make his home- Hey uh, gull catching... Not such a good idea around here. -follows suit and jumps off the wrecked ship, taking a few steps in Motonari's direction. The seagulls on this beach were more than just a little feisty, and even the pirate didn't try to do more than steal their eggs. More often than not he had to use Ruby as bait to draw their attention away before ran in grabbed the precious treasure as fast as he could. The birds really did stick together, and when one was provoked the whole flock would attack in an overwhelming number. He highly doubted Motonari would listen but he'd been given a fair warning right?- I'm going inland, so good luck to you. -turns and begins walking for the treeline, just knowing he'd hear howls of pain and soon. Inwardly he chuckled at the prospect of potentially having to save the other from danger but headed for the small pond where he knew he could easily catch some fish-

Motonari: Hah. I was right. *mutters to himself as the silvery fox trotted away from the ship, his nose high in the air to both catch the scent of the gulls... And also to make himself feel much taller than the demon of the seas. What did that brute know about catching birds? Gulls couldn't be any more different than any other feathery creature, and Motonari had caught plenty previous to his current endeavor. In all honesty, though, he wasn't very hungry at all. He really just wanted to catch the dumb bird to prove to some dumb stranger that he was infinitely superior, and should be bowed down to. Yes. That would be nice. To have a little pawn in which to catch him meals, bring him soft cloths to cover himself with, shower him in that strangely cold but amusing 'treasure', to talk to him when the sun was gone and he felt lone--* !! Tch! *completely halts, actually having to sit down for a moment to quite literally stop his train of thought. He didn't need anyone to talk to! That was complete bullshit! Making sure that he wasn't going to go off on that same track of mind, he rose, catching the scent of a flock of gulls and their nests, and his body lowered to the ground as he searched for a few he could pick off without dealing with the whole lot of them. When the scent made shape in his mind, the petite kitsune began stalking his prey, focused completely on the mental image of the swirling white spot that pecked at the ground in front of him. Another pawstep and Motonari had realized that he had trekked upward-- He must've been on some incline of a hill, so he adjusted his sprinting plan to fit the new terrain, and when the time was right, he darted forward, snapping down on the seagull's neck with relative ease. Unfortunately, the thing let out a horrifying squawk before it died, alerting the whole flock that completely startled Motonari into running, his breakfast tight between his jaws. Up the 'hill' he ran, his heart pounding hard in his chest. He had never been chased by any sort of creature before, and this was rather alarming, considering the flock held at least thirty birds. When one of their beaks ripped at the fur on his tail, it spurred him forward, his legs tingling with nervousness as he focused solely on running away from the birds, and it was when the ground ceased to exist beneath his paws did he realize that this was definitely not a hill, and if it was considered as such, it was missing its other half. Plummeting to the sea below him, time seemed to slow down enough for thousands of thoughts of his death to pass through his mind, and seconds before impact, he let out a fierce cry of helplessness akin to a dying kit. The second he hit the water, his legs began paddling, but it was useless-- He had absolutely no idea which way was up, and which was down, and the waves were already tossing him like a rag-doll... The ocean would swallow him whole in no time.*

Motochika: -catches a glimpse of Motonari with his nose and tail in the air, trotting off to go find a bird. The pirate merely rolled his eyes and just awaited the failure of the other's hunt. There was no way he was going to catch one of those seagulls, and if the silver kitsune somehow did he would be shocked enough to eat a mouthful of sand. He almost wanted to go back just to see how the attempt went, and after musing over the thought he slowly turned around to return the way he came. He could laugh in the snooty male's face and then catch them some fish for breakfast. It had nothing to do with him actually wanting to watch Motonari. No, of course not. There was nothing graceful about the male at all, nor was the way the light shone off of his pelt beautiful. Nope. That would just be ridiculous. It wasn't as if he needed a companion; he already had Ruby and the red crustacean was more than enough to keep him healthily sane. Motochika was roused from his thoughts as he stepped off of the grass near the tree-line and back into the sand only to see Motonari crouching low to decide which of the gulls he would claim as his victim. The spotted fox simply sighed and stood next to a palm tree, planning on watching the prince get his a** handed to him by a bunch of birds. His tail swished when the younger male dashed forward, actually clamping his jaws down around the throat of one of the birds but as the pirate's dark eyes widened in surprise, he soon realized the victory was going to be short-lived. The flock was chasing Motonari, and right towards the edge of a cliff- HEY! -yells in the other's direction, trying to get his attention to warn of the imminent danger but the squawks and shrieks of the gulls were much too loud for him to be heard. s**t! He quickly dropped Ruby and the net he carried before running as fast as his legs would carry him, just a short distance behind Motonari as he accidentally ran off the cliff. Somehow the pirate's fear was mostly for the total stranger that he still didn't even know the name of as he fell from the great height, only staring at the silver and green blur of the prince as the waves reached up like hands to meet him. If the ocean was going to reap his soul at least he could say it would be a fitting end, but wouldn't it be tragic if he actually let someone suffocate to death? The sea demon was nearly knocked breathless as he crashed into the water, but his heart was still beating at a million miles per hour in his chest as he willed himself to swim and fight against the choppy waves, lest he and Motonari both drown on the beach he so dearly loved-

Motonari: *Barrel roll after barrel roll, the raging ocean tossed the lithe, silvery kitsune in the water, ripping his blindfold away from him-- Not that the kit would dare to open his eyes anyway. It was the last thing on his mind as his legs scrabbled for solid ground, or even a break in the waves to get air, but as soon as the male's skull smacked against one of the many rocks covering the sea floor, he blanked out, completely unconscious, and completely at the mercy of the waves. His whole body went limp as his mind went black, a faint ringing in his consciousness. What was this quiet place? It felt so comfortable-- So soft on his aching body. There was a moment where his chest felt incredibly tight, and then the pain was released, something finally clicking in Motonari's mind, telling him that he was most definitely dead. This is what death felt like, right? Something comfortable before your consciousness fades like the tide? Oh. Well. He hadn't been going anywhere in his life. He already felt dead inside, anyway, thanks to Itztla. He wouldn't be leaving anything behind, so far as he was concerned... Except his precious balls of fiery light... The sun... Keiji..... Bada. The thought of leaving the two males behind made his peacefulness stutter. He didn't enjoy that image at all. But as he was about to derail and head toward a different train of thought, the soft ringing had subsided, and had been replaced with the calming rush of waves on a beach. That was a nicer sound, the kitsune thought, his mind beginning to recognize the softness of a pelt curled around his body. The darkness had begun to fade into a gray, and then lighter, when Motonari felt like he was falling again, and his mind struggled to grasp onto something-- Anything-- as his spirit slammed back into his body with a heavy thud. Jolting back into consciousness, he gasped, filling his lungs with the much needed air. It was cold-- It was so cold-- And everything was so goddamn bright--! And that was when the fox realized that he was resting on the beach, curled closely to a sopping wet Motochika with every piece of fabric he had been given as a young pup missing. He was looking at the world for the first time in years, and his glassy silver eyes were wide with every terribly beautiful emotion his body could muster. When he could hardly register what had happened, he looked over to Motochika, that soft, narrow face that peered back at him, he almost whimpered with disbelief of how beautiful it actually was. The moment of nakedness would last only until reality hit him again when the Demon of the Seas spoke*

Motochika: -crashes into the water just a few seconds after Motonari, his body tense from fear but soon his muscles got to work fighting against the water in hopes of survival. He’d managed to suck in a breath of air rather than scream and after just a moment of adjusting to the cold water temperature the fox began to swim, avoiding the rocks Motonari had struck his skull against. Had it been possible for there to be any spectators it would have been a wonder how the pirate could swim with those odd, crustacean-like forelegs of his but somehow, just somehow, they worked functionally. Even with his eyes open, he could barely see through the dark and rolling waves that shoved against him with enough force to spin him around like a kite without a string, but he caught a glimpse of silver and something that looked like a small red cloud, and he could only assume it was Motonari. Pushing himself through the water, Motochika rose up for one more gasp of air before diving down again to retrieve the stowaway, grabbing Motonari by the scruff of the neck and swimming up so that they could both breathe. Pulling his catch as well as anyone could through the water and onto shore, the purple male felt exhausted by the time he finally dragged the other kitsune onto the sand a short distance away from the lapping waves. His mind was reeling as he collapsed next to the other; he’d hardly even thought at all in those last few seconds but when the scent of blood met his nose he managed to lean over Motonari and look at the wound atop the prince’s head. It wasn’t truly serious, but it would need to be bandaged if the fox didn’t want an infection. His teeth clenched when he thought about how that saltwater was going to hurt like hell, but he’d save those emotions for later. That was when Motonari opened his eyes, and the pirate was so shocked by those moonlight eyes that had been previously hidden from view that his jaw actually fell open for a moment. His heart felt like it was being crushed in his chest, and while Motochika didn’t fully want to admit to himself why, he was absolutely certain that he had just fallen for this idiot who had nearly gotten him killed- …..I am never letting you leave my sight or side again.

Motonari: *What was even happening..? Motonari could hardly even comprehend the situation—He so badly wanted to burst into a fit of terrified whines, but he managed to resist… If only for the sake of keeping his dignity. Right. Whatever of that he had left, at least. Once the silvery kitsune realized how utterly cloth-less he was, he clamped his eyes shut, trying so hard to keep himself from seeing that damn face again… But no. It was emblazoned into his mind, the darkness he was so familiar with being plagued by that soft purple, that stern gaze falling on him with concern that he was so unused to… And then it occurred to him: Motochika had saved him. Oh dear gods, that sea devil had saved him from the watery death that had threatened to take him—Motonari owed this male his life. The thought made him sick, and suddenly, a wave of searing pain and nausea overcame him as the salty wound began to take its toll.* Aah… *It was a pathetic whimper. It really was. The demi-god was completely and utterly ashamed of himself. But hey! He had already made a fool of himself by tumbling into the ocean, losing ALL of his precious cloth, and then having been saved by the same male that currently sat beside him, staring at that naked—oh god he felt so very naked—body of his. What could crying out do to his image at this point? Not much, if anything at this point.* I didn’t… Ask you to sa—uhhhg… *Even speaking made him sick. Wonderful. He had a concussion. Today couldn’t get any better—Oh, no, wait! It could. And it was. And the sarcasm couldn’t have been thicker as he tried to stand, but the other slumped against Motochika, not having any strength left to move. If anyone were to happen upon the scene, it would have been assumed that they were cuddling, gods forbid. But as Motonari’s consciousness wavered again, his body ready to start the healing process, there was just a part of him that noticed that maybe… Maybe this wasn’t so bad. That dumb sea demon was… Pretty warm after all…*= = = = = = = = = - - - - - = = = = = = = = = = E n d = = = = = = = = = = - - - - - = = = = = = = = =
