My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... Alrighty, so then, since you said you do know how to IV breed, I'm going to assume that you also know that IVs range from 0 to 31. Are you using Black/White or Black2/White2??? ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???

Yes. Black for now, but I could still do so for Black 2 if needed. Not completely finished with Black 2, though I have beaten the Elite 4 and Champion now.

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... Well, in-game, you can find out about IVs in the Battle Subway. As you enter, there should be an Ace Trainer standing by the main pillar. If you talk to him, he'll tell you about how he can tell you the "potential" of your Pokemon. That's basically the IVs. He'll tell you several things about the Pokemon that you select, which you can see more about here. That's basically the only in-game way to check your IVs. If you're going for perfect IVs or close to that, then it should be rather easy to figure it out by asking the Ace Trainer. Otherwise, you can use methods like PokeCheck and et cetera. ... Ah. o-o So this would be better for Pokemon that I've just gotten, rather than those I've just been using to beat the game? I've no clue what PokeCheck is. cat_sweatdrop

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... That's fine. An IV calculator would work just as well. Since that calculator asks for the Hidden Power, you can find out what the Hidden Power of a Pokemon is by asking a person standing by the counter of the PokeCenter in Mistralton. ... Sticky Notes are awesome on the laptop. I think I'll try using that method for IV then. ^-^

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... I know, right??? I use them a lot.
If you're doing mass breeding, then I would just study up on the Ace Trainer's statements, to give you brief estimates on what the IVs of a Pokemon are. If you find something that fits what you're looking for, then you might like to use an IV calculator to get the full gist of what its IVs are. It's just a faster process than using a calculator every single time you want to find IVs. ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... I don't personally know a lot of people that do though. cat_emo I don't think I'll have to worry about that, since I've never had reason to mass breed. Would makes things too complicated for me to keep organized. Still a good idea to get used to their sayings though.

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... Well, competitive battle requires a lot of mass breeding. It's between finding good IVs, getting the right Nature, and all those other little details that add onto it, like Hidden Powers, genders [if you want a specific one], and et cetera. ... Huh. Forgot to factor that in. >_< I need to start thinking more competitively. cat_sweatdrop Part of that would end up being luck though at that point, right?

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... Yeah, it would, but it'll still generically take a bit of breeding to get what you're looking for. ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???

Wouldn't it be easier to work on getting the IVs you wanted first, and then mass breed for everything else? Or does it not work like that?

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... It doesn't work like that. You have to keep breeding to get one Pokemon with the details that you want. ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???

So everything has to be correct all at once? o-o Looks like I'm going to need to get a few more Litwick and Slugma.

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... You should get a Volcarona for Flame Body and for the fact that it learns Fly. It's a good Pokemon to have for that. ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???
