Reito Lantern is pretty cool.
It has awesome synergy with Sunforger which is hardly hidden but is a fairly underused card anyway because R/W is pretty much the weakest color combination.
Still it ought to be better post Commander decks. Chaos Warp is a pretty awesome target and there's a handful of new Generals with RW in their cost. Sadly, none of them are totally awesome
Another card along the lines of RL is Jotun Grunt. The 4/4 body is unimpressive in EDH but the ability can make short work of an opponent's graveyard and facilitate your recursion at the same time. It's kinda funny when a creature that was printed as a big scary dude with a drawback becomes a utility dork in EDH.
I knew Taijuru Preserver existed but it only just occurred to me how relevant it'd be in EDH. Sac engines are everywhere. Gravepact/ Butcher of Malakir abuse, Fleshbag Marauder abuse, along with the Anowon and Thrax decks you mentioned, and Sheoldred as well. All is Dust also sees a fair amount of play. Unfortunately, TP can't save you from your own All is Dust.

He got all his creatures in his graveyard back into play for 3, without losing any creatures, while all opponents lost at least a couple. Also, I hate Jotun Grunt.

My favorite EDH or Legacy Combo, Elspeth, Knight-Errant -8 ability+Worldslayer+Invisible stalker= Instant Win. But it kind hard to do unless you have back up cards like Grand Abolisher, Asceticism, and heck Norn's Annex could help.

Honestly, getting a walker to 8 really ought not to be possible in EDH unless you're seriously dominating the game already (or are working some crazy proliferate antics in which case you're probably seriously dominating the game.)
Though, I guess Rings of Brighthearth +Contagion Engine = 4 proliferates for 6 mana meaning 10 total to drop Elspeth, bump her to 8, and go off in 1 turn. up that to 19 if you're playing the whole thing at once so no one gets a turn to blow it up. 19 mana is good but not insane in EDH so that's actually moderately feasible. It still folds to someone with instant speed damage or artifact or PW removal or counters but that's true of lots of things.
There's also other ways of running it: Voltaic Key costs 5 for 2 extra proliferates instead of 2 but it costs 1 to play instead of 3 so that's only 1 net mana more expensive if you're dropping and activating everything on the same turn.
Tezzeret works out at considerably more expensive (5 to play and 4 to reactivate engine) but he can also untap your Sol Ring if you've got one cutting his cost down a bit.
Viral Drake would let you perform the entire proliferate operation with a single card, albeit for 20 mana, making 24 with Elspeth. Training Ground cuts that to 12+1 for itself or 17 total with Elspeth, the cheapest option so far and creature removal doesn't shut it off because you can retain priority and activate the ability 4 times before anyone can respond.
Then there's Gilder Bairn which can do the whole proliferate operation alone for only 3 mana + 3 to play it but that effect needs haste to be used the turn it enters the battlefield and it needs some way of tapping it in the first place so it's the most vulnerable to disruption. On the other hand it would be easy to put out an early Bairn, attack with it, then sneak in an Elspeth in the after combat main phase. Probably the earliest game option (you could do it on turn 3 or 4 with appropriately explosive mana ramp.)
Well, that was an interesting thought exercise and demonstration of all the different ways to accomplish something in EDH.
