You can use it as a display piece. I think a Thousand Son themed Landspeeder would be pretty boss as a display. It's also, not like you cant just proxy a marine army from time to time with your chaos army. If you don't play at a GW store that is. Cause they're nazi's about proxying. I do it all the time. Its kinda lulzy seeing some Khorne Berzerkers running down the field as Grey Knights.

Hm...well, maybe I could try that. I mean, I usually don't use the figurines as display (plus the fact that I have terrible painting skills), but I can see how that'd work. I don't have gold paint, tho, and I'm lacking in Thousand Son pieces, so it might cost some to put it together and paint it...but still, nice idea.
And I actually already have a sort of proxy in my army. I painted a Chaos Posessed model, and I'm using that as my Daemon Prince. It's not that I can't afford a Prince model, it's just...I think it's a pretty funny joke, seeing a tiny Prince on the battlefield. And of course, he'd have a bit of a Napoleon complex. XD

Oh, here's an idea! Chaos Daemons have a codex, right? So if one wanted to use Chaos daemons in their army, then they'd need to buy a Daemon codex to use with their Chaos codex, right?
So what if I ought a Space Marine codex, and used that to include the Chaos Landspeeder? Would that work? I mean, sure the unit wouldn't be in a chaos codex, but if you had the unit's codex, could you still include it in your army?

The Chaos "daemons" have their own white washed entry in the Chaos Codex.

Yes, but I've seen chaos players who use both codexes for their armies. Both Daemon codex and CSM codex.
Point is, if I had the Space Marine codex as well as the CSM codex, could I then use the Landspeeder in my CSM army?

Nope. There's gotta be a directly mentioned cross over detailed in the codices. I haven't seen that in either the CSM or the CD codices. I'll have to look again to make sure, but I'm pretty sure it's not available outside of Imperial Armour units. For instance in the Siege of Vraks there are daemon units and daemon engines that are capable of being used in both armies, but it is specifically mentioned in their profile entries which armies they are usable for and what army point value is required to field them. If there is no specific mention of a cross over in the codices or it is a special mission, then those people are playing illegal armies. And it would be an illegal army to use CSM and SM in one army.

Perhaps they used a Fantasy rule, i.e. daemon and monster allowance.
