-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
Pip had gotten just about everything right. Alice was furious with him. Which was why she was letting out a very strained breath when she heard life at the door. It was a no-brainer he was drunk... Lovely... The woman shook her head and looked at her reflection in the mirror in her bedroom. She had just gotten dressed, after Miah decided to get up early and announce she was hungry. The woman had figured to get herself in decent condition while she could. The child had drifted off to a nap soon after eating. One had to take advantage of them sleeping. Alice honestly couldn't wait until the kid could take of herself. Sure she her daughter and all, but she did not like this. Add to that the whole bottle of emotions that was reserved for Pip? Well it's no wonder she was making her way to the bathroom door, except she stopped in front of it. IF he was drunk... and hungover... Well she merely decided to give the door a good knock, or rather punch, loud enough to make him aware she knew he was there. And if that bothered his hangover, well then it was a bonus. For now, oh she'd move to the kitchen and get something to drink. This was going to be a long talk.

The pound at the door had Pip jumping for a moment as he showered. Damn woman! Pip stuck out his tongue at the door. A bit childish but the world was a bit spinny so it worked. Oh he knew he would have to go out there and talk to her. And he knew she was pissed and right, especially after his talk with Tate that was fresh in his inhebriated mind. The shower sobered him up some, but not by much, sleep would do better. And after popping painkillers and downing two glasses of water. Pip dried off and wrapped himself up in a nice soft plush robe. Hey he wasnt about to dress in his dirty clothes, of course this left alot of his body vulnerable but with Alice.. it didnt really matter. She knew where to hit if she was going to hit you. Pip opened up the door to the bathroom and peered outside. He looked down the hallway and then down the other end of the hallway. Noise in the kitchen alerted Pip to his death dealer- Alice. Swallowing hard Pip remembered that he had been mad at Alice for not loving him back and manned up. Making sure the robe was secured tightly around him, Pip tossed his dirty clothes in the hamper before heading to -his doom- the kitchen. Pip peered around the corner from the hallway into the kitchen. Some of his wet long hair clung to his neck and face, his bangs fell in the way of his eye. Pip stayed mostly hidden afraid that a knife would come flying his way. This was war! And he was going to loose.. how hard he lost was a matter of his own moves from here on out.

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
By the time Pip was out of the bathroom... well nothing had really happened. She had spent most of that time swirling her drink and staring at it in thought. With some narrow eyes though... contrary to his thoughts, she wasn't going to hit him or anything. No, her sharp tongue would be more than enough to hurt him. Even then that wasn't in her thoughts. Alice was quiet, probably too quiet, the only sound was the one of the drink swirling around, which was why it would be painfully obvious to hear the male's footsteps approaching. When he finally peered into view, the woman waited a moment before setting her gaze to see him, just for a few seconds before turning her back on him and shaking her head. "...How drunk?" Was all she said, not even bothering to look back at him as he answered that. Her tone was tough to decipher, especially since she didn't show him any expression when she spoke. Alice figured the man had drunk enough, but she wanted to know if this talk was worth it. Was he sober enough for it? Probably not.

Pip stayed where he was but he peered out a bit further looking Alice in the eye but still afraid to approach. "Drunk enough to badly dodge throwing objects or fists.. but sober enough to not be a complete slob walking around." Pip answered honestly. "Also drunk enough to not 'ave much of a filter on t'e mout'." Pip smiled gently in embaressment. He came out form his hiding spot, his long hair out of its braid and dripping wet down the robe he wore. He was in the doorway of the Kitchen when he put his hands up. "I went drinking wit' Tate, at 'is 'ouse. We 'ad a few beers, and i 'avent slept yet. You know, 'e 'ad some words of wisdom, t'ough.." Pip said honestly as he slowly approached the table Alice was sitting at, hands still up near his chest. A drunken look of dont shoot me on his face. "But.. eet looks like you want to talk first.. so.. ill listen." Pip said as he took a chair and sat down across from Alice.

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
Alice merely raised an eyebrow at his answer. She didn't expect him to be that honest about it... it was probably the beer. It was probably also that, that had him acting like a goof. There was a chance that would've been found endearing at some point, right now it was just annoying. Wisdom huh? Alice nodded slowly at that. Well that had been the most level headed employee she had hired in years... Good for her though, the male had been keeping everything from collapsing just by having some sanity. Hers had been out the window with these employees, or maybe before that? Who knows. What she did know, was that his last two words were pretty ironic. The woman took a sip from her drink, thinking about it. Now he's listening? Really? "You'll listen..." Alice repeated slowly, letting the words go around her mind again before she scoffed. "Are you sure? Are you going to listen like said you did before? Or are you just going to nod and understand something else and throw a tantrum when it isn't so?" First hit. Maybe it was a bit harsh, but she was mad at him, and if her sharp tone didn't hint it, the narrowed eye pretty much clarified it.

Pip sighed and leaned forward putting his arms on the table. He ran his hands over his face to sober himself up and let out a second sigh. "I dont t'row tantrums.... what you said 'urt Alice." Pip said with a frown. He shook his head and thoguht back to what Tate had said. "But.. ill 'ave to get over eet. You dont love me, you'll never want to be toget'er forever.. and while t'at 'urts.." Pip forwned and looked away from her.
"I 'ave to accept t'at and be 'appy wit' what we 'ave. Tate is right, i need to respect t'e whole fact t'at you 'ave been 'urt in t'e past." Pip said as he folded his arms on the table and rested his head on it. He looked at Alice and sighed gently, he wasnt frowning but he wasnt happy either. "..i didnt mean to push myself onto you Cherie. I just t'ought i could make everyt'ing better by smoot'ering you wit' my love. If i could make you believe in love i t'ought it would make up for your past. I wanted to show you t'at love could be different, that not every man treats women like s**t. I just wanted to make you 'appy Alice. But eet seems i 'avent been doing t'at." Pip said honestly.
"Besides.. we 'ave a daughter.. i cant walk away from 'er. But.. i need to know Alice. Even if you dont believe in love, do you at least feel somet'ing for me? Or 'ave my hopeless romantic.. romancing just been a burden to you?" Pip said with a frown. He was down, the alcohol wasnt helping his mood. And Tates words had sunk in all to deeply, while he was hurt and mad at what Alice had said. He was kicking himself at the same time.

-Alice Ladd & Miah Bernadetto-
It was interesting to see that sober or drunk he was still easily discouraged. She was pretty surprised to hear that. He wouldn't get over it... he couldn't even look at her right there. But did he mean all of that? His intentions... because the rest of it was crap. Love wasn't going to make anything better, and it certainly wouldn't make up for what she went through. Now was she happy? ...Not right now... No lately she had felt more trapped than anything... and him pressuring her about love wasn't doing anything to help. Which then came to wonder... Miah... Were they just together for the girl? Had it come to that? Honestly, Alice didn't know. She took her time before saying anything. Actually a shake of her head came from her first. "Something..." she replied at first, setting the drink on the table and crossed her arms in front of her, one hand going to rub the back of her arm as she thought.
"...I don't know. It's not that easy Pip. You... You don't get it..." How could he? He wasn't the one there... And just like that, the slight calm she had gathered was gone, and a bitter side showed in Alice right there. "You don't know what it's like... You don't have the fear that I'm going to flip out one day and beat the crap out of you." When she said that, she moved her gaze to meet his. "You don't... Love almost got me killed. Trusting someone, who wasn't that different from you. And you're even worse because you have guns in the house!" scoffed the woman, standing from her spot. "You can say it'll be fine, not everyone is like that, love this, love that... but how the hell do you expect me to believe that? Were you going home, worried that your boyfriend was going to be in a bad mood and take it out on you? Were you making up excuses at work when someone saw a bruise because you were too ashamed to do anything about it? Were you the one covering up those bruises every day?" snapped the brunette, glaring at him. She shook her head, keeping her arms close to her chest. Her tone lowered immediately at her next words. "No... You also aren't the one terrified of those ******** guns. I didn't tell you to keep them out because it was yours... I just can't stand to see those things and relive that day again and again... and again... Wondering if one day, you'll decide to flip out and finish off my other eye." It probably would've shocked Alice to find her voice breaking, but... this life was driving her insane. It didn't feel right, and it made her think too much of the past. The past she never delved into with anyone. Pip only knew she had been in a bad relationship, and that had been why she wore the eye patch, but she had never said anything more about it.
A moment or two passed, with the brunette staring at the floor before she spoke up again. "It wasn't one bad relationship... My father was just like you... but when he got drunk... it was always horrible... And I can't stop thinking one day you'll do it too..." She was afraid, no she was terrified of that thought. Of going through that again, of Miah going through that. "And I can't go through it again... Maybe you won't but... I'm never going to leave that worry." It probably wasn't fair of her to just assume he would be the same but, it had never left her. Now with his pressuring, it was nagging at her more than ever, not to mention his little exit the night before. "...It's not that it's a burden... it's just pointless... And I can't do it. I can't trust someone like that again... or believe some fairy-tale emotion is going to keep me safe..." But did she feel something for him? Yes... But was it enough to keep them together? "...I don't think what I feel... is enough... not for you anyways."

Pip visibly shrank in his chair as Alice went on her rant. He hadnt known the guns were an issue! Pip watched Alice, waiting for her to calm down before he spoke, his chin was resting on his arms as he looked at her like a verbally beaten down mutt. She was right, he didnt know what it was like. But he hadnt known that her last boyfriend had finished off her heart.. something her father started and her eye. And then she started comparing him to her past relationships, even with her father. It irritated him that she would assume he was one way when he had been with her for what ho long now? 3 years and he had done nothing other than drink and own guns, that would hint to him even thinking of hurting Alice in that way. And then she said it was pointless and what she felt for him wasnt enough for him. Pip was silent for a bit before he sat up and spoke gently. "I didnt know t'e guns where an issue, Alice. And im sorry for your past.. your right.. i dont know what eets like. But i do know what eets like to fear for your life everyday. Waiting for t'e enemy just around t'e corner. Or waiting for your employer to screw you over and 'and you and your boys over to t'e enemy." Pip said softly, as he pasued for a moment to remember his fallen men. He looked back to Alice and continued. "We've been toget'er t'is long... and ive never once tried to 'urt you. Temper tantrum is about all i do Alice, i would never even t'ink of 'urting you and Miah." Pip said as he frowned. "Im sorry t'at you t'ink i would do t'at. And i wish i could take t'at worry away... but i cant. Id sooner take a gun to my own 'ead Alice t'en ever 'urt a woman. Let alone one i care about." Pip said whole heartedly but with a frown. "Im sorry... for t'e guns. Im sorry you 'ad to deal wit' assholes in your life. Im sorry i cant change t'at." Pip said as a lump in his throat formed. "Im also sorry t'at ive been pushing you.... I didnt mean to Alice." Pip added softly before his gaze dropped. This was all his fault, he pushed her too far. Tate was right, he should have been more understanding, maybe thats what Eva had been trying to get at. Or had gotten at but he was too stupid to see it. "Maybe your right.. t'ere is no such t'ing as love. Im just clinging to an ideal t'at doesnt exist... " Pip said his gaze had dropped again just to the table where his own hands were. "...i can get rid of t'e guns... i should anyways.. we 'ave a daughter. Besides... eets not like i need t'em. Ive been just 'olding onto t'em for... sentimental reasons." Pip said gently, that and if the s**t ever hit the fan he could always return to his old way of life as a Mercenary. Then another thought, two in fact, occured to him and Pip had to ask. " Can i ask two t'ings Alice? Do you love our daughter? And why.. if i remind you so much of your past.. did you agree..and keep agreeing to go out wit' me?"
