This quickly caught Sesshomaru's attention.
He looked back at his little brother to see the blood running down the corner of his mouth.
Sesshomaru wiped the crimson liquid away with his thumb.
His natural poison quickly disposed of it from his skin.
Feeling the cloth was already warm, he refreshed it and laid it back on his forehead.

"Tell me, how long have you been traveling with your companions while ignoring these severe wounds?"

He did not like the sound of that at all.

"That would explain how one of your broken ribs had traveled upwards and punctured a lung.
It also aided in spreading the miasma faster.
If you happen to need anything be sure to tell me, little brother."

He then whispered in one of his dog ears.

"I have no wish to see you die."

The Cherry Blossom petals danced through the air, as a breeze stirred.
Sesshomaru scented the air for any possible danger.
He wasn't going to tolerate any sneak attacks by other demons, while Inuyasha was in this state.
The taiyoukai also made a mental note to be aware for his companions.
They were highly unlikely to understand the situation and make judgements based on what they believed to be truth.
Right now his sibling needed him and he'd be in real trouble if he weren't able to care for him because his friends managed to incapacitate him.

The taiyoukai watched him sleep for a time.
His eyes drifted shut as well.
However, he was far from being asleep.
He was simply enjoying the breeze that teased at his long silver hair.

Sesshomaru's mind drifted to when Inuyasha was a pup, though technically he was still considered one.
He realised just how bad he had wanted to care for his sibling then, to hold him, and to hear Inuyasha call him aniki.
His eyes slowly opened and he silently thought to himself, while looking down at his sleeping hanyou brother.

'I can do so now.
While you recover, I will look after you and ensure that survive this ordeal.'

The sound of Inuyasha calling him 'Aniki', instant drew his attention to the hanyou.
At first it was a soft mumble.
It then turned into a soft plea, which finally escalated into full blown terror.

He was actually startled by this.
However, were he to try and shake him awake, he could very well harm him.
Having no wish to cause any unnecessary pain, he tried a more gentle approach.

Sesshomaru softly began running his fingers through his little brother's silver locks.
Leaning over slightly, his whispered soothingly to him, as he recalled their father doing the same for him.

"Shhhhh....I'm here, otouto."

He was glad to see that his method was successful.
Sesshomaru then gently nuzzled Inuyasha's jawline for a short time.

'Sleep well, Inuyasha.', He silently thought to himself.

He could care less if Jaken was watching him being kind to his hanyou brother.
The taiyoukai would simply punish him for opening his mouth and questioning his actions.

However, Rin was another matter.
She smiled at him instead because she was happy that he was caring for him.
The little girl, touched Inuyasha's cheek to test his temperature.
Removing the cloth, the human girl dipped it in the water Jaken had provided and handed it back to Sesshomaru with a sweet look on her little face.

The taiyoukai appreciated the gesture and took it from her light grasp.
He then softly dabbed it at his neck and face, before laying it back on its previous perch.
Sesshomaru felt Rin snuggle against him, falling asleep herself.
He offered her warmth with a section of his tail that wasn't being occupied by his sibling, and resumed his watch of the landscape.

Sesshomaru lifted his head in the direction of their voices.
He was mildly irratated because they might wake Inuyasha up.
The hanyou needed rest, not being disturbed by shouting.
Expanding his aura, he allowed the kitsune to pinpoint his location, so the two may see Inuyasha.
However, he made certain it wasn't threatinging in the process.
