My parents have been married since...I think 1982 so roughly 29 years. My grandparents on both sides were together for many years. So, there is a decent trend of staying together. At least in my direct family line.

If my Dad and Mom were not together. My quality of life along with the quality of my Mom's, brother and sister. Would by worse than they are now.

My parents are currently getting divorced. After, roughly 20 years of marriage, my mom is now calling it off. From what I know, it will be 50/50 custody between both parents. Only me and my older brother know. The three younger ones have yet to find out. I wish they would stay together, but my mom doesn't want it anymore, even though my dad tells me he does. ='(

My parents got married when they were 17 and 21. My mom was pregnant with me and my dad was in the army. They stayed together and had my two younger sisters. When I was about 5 or 6, they "got divorced" and lived in separate places. My mom wound up with this loser of a guy and my dad soon grew up and they got back together. They've been together for 22 years, now, and they plan on someday getting re-married. They needed a divorce to realize they really loved each other..

my parents are together.....I don't want to offend anyone, but from what I can tell, it's best if people have a happy together family. smile Although I know that a lot of times that's not a reality. And it's NEVER the fault of the child. Parently make their own accomplishments and their own mistakes. I'm just glad mine have had such a good relationship thus far, and hope to immitate them. smile

There has been a lot of divorce in my family, but my parents and paternal grandparents stayed together, though my paternal grandfather has passed away now. He and my grandma had been married for 63 years, and I could see my parents being married for that long, as well. Several people I know have had their parents separate or divorce, and sometimes much later in life. All I wish for is that everyone involved ends up happy.

My parents divorced when I was a little younger than nine. I can can only remember them screaming and fighting with eachother as they still do to this day. I lived with my father for about two years then he moved out and my mum moved back in. I'm the youngest in my family so I'm often left out of things and given all the jobs and tasks to do and get blamed when something not right even when I'm not home. It does hurt, sometimes I just want to curl up and cry which I sometimes do. Whenever I see my friends parents laughing at eachother I wonder what my life would be like if my parents were still together and if I'd have a happier life.... At least just no screaming....
