He replies "You're right. It would be impractical to try to avoid them henceforth. Besides, I've lived with this tribe for my whole life, and they know me just as much as I know them. If I don't find a replacement, I'm sure to be on the altar next."

Jackqueline cast her eyes at the ground, she was starting to have an inner turmoil, "I don't know, but I'm not all that keen about the idea of having to find someone to sacrifice. I mean, I want to live but I don't want to send someone to their death either!"

(I had an idea of a way we could direct this RP, but I don't know if it was in your original intention. You are the one who created this RP, after all, and this might be a major deviation from the intended plot.)

Jackqueline tries to smile, even though she didn't have much of a home before this, it's kind of a sad thing to leave so unexpectedly. "Alright" she replies, "it sounds like the best thing to do, but do you have any idea where to go?"
While this was going on the tribe's high priest watches from the temple through his incantation pool. "So they wish to flee?" he chuckles, "Well, I'll have something to say about that!"
One of the lower ranked priests asks, "Sir, do you wish the villagers to bring them back?"
The high priest sneers and replies with disgust at the question, "No..." then his demeanor becomes more sly, "I'll have something awaiting them in the woods."

"Well, since I was one of the ones the chief put in charge of organizing hunting trails for the tribe, I know what routes the hunters take to search for game. I've got two possible ideas in mind. Either we leave along one of those hunting trails when the hunters aren't there, and fake our deaths at the hands of some wild animal, or sneak out along a route that is no longer taken. What do you think?
