Two of my Favorite Writers would have to be Damon Stroud and V.C Andrews.
One reason these two are my favorite is that its really hard to catch my attention but these two authors manage to catch it on the first page. The first book I read of Damon Stroud was of the Bartimaeus Trilogy. A Sarcastic Comedy with a mixture of witty djinni (demons) snooty but intellegent magicians and the misfits that blend in. V.C.Andrews on the other hand is a classy writer with a sadistic twist. Most of her stories dealing with lonely outcasts and their psychological triumps.
A major impact they had on me was a lesson to overcome being an outcast. Not caring what others think and just make my move on life. Because of V.C.Andrews I am also very intrested in child psychology which is my college major. I also learned to be quick in my feet when it comes to wit like my favorite Character Bartimaeus.

My favorite authors would be Anne Rice, James Patterson and Stephan King.
Anne Rice because her stories and characters are beautiful. (except the Beauty series which I have not read nor do I want to) And any time I'm annoyed with Twihards I can just delve deep into the world of Lestat and remind my self what a real vampire is.
James Patterson because he has fast paced writing and I like that. He also has quite a few quirky characters.
Stephan King because i like a little dose of fear, and I've been reading The Stand and have been enjoying it immensely. He has a nice writing style too.

Fave author: *looks through book case* Suzanne Collins Why: After reading the first book I was pulled in with the rebellion of the people against the Capitol, and to read about the battel within the main character, I felt like I became part of the rebelion myself. Impact they've had on mylife: It's made me realize that not everythings not perfect in life, and sometimes you have to choose to do the thing that makes you the most uncomfortable.

heart I love reading books by Stephen King, and Dean Koontz. heart
These guys helped me in my writing when I was first starting out four or five years ago. When I read their stuff I started analyzing it looking at how they would portray their characters and how they would let the story play out. After I read about two or so of their books my writing changed drastically. I started actually having a story that made sense and you could actually have a general idea of who my characters were.

Margaret Atwood
Her novels are brilliantly written with amazing originality and skill. The imagery she brings to passages is the best I've ever experienced in both her novels and poetry. She is a gifted author.

Favorite Author: Frank Herbert Why: Complex plot, characters, setting, symbols, and meaning. I have yet to meet a character who beats Leto II in my heart of well-rounded and well-thought out characters.

My ultimate favourite writer is Brandon Sanderson! His books are amazing! They incorporate comedy, adventure, mystery, magic, romance, everything! It's awesome! True, most of his books are really long, but I like them that way! They're fantasy books, and they have unique plot lines, magic systems, worlds, creatures... I could go on and on and on! My second favourite author is the late Robert Jordon, who's series the Wheel of Time is really good (nice and lengthy too! Can't wait for the fourteenth and final book to come out next month!). His series is being finished by Brandon Sanderson. My third favourite is J.K. Rowling (though I hear her latest book is boring, depressing and clichéd) for her Harry Potter series, as it was my introduction to fantasy and what first inspired me to become a writer!

I believe its spelt "Robert Jordan" and I'm a fan too! Which is your favourite character? Mine's Mat. Do you think the series has gotten better or worse since Brandon Sanderson took over? I think it's different but not better or worse, the Mat bits are funnier though.

I have way too many to put all of them down but I'll share one or two.
Author: Ellen Hopkins Why: From the moment I first saw one of her books in sixth grade (where I was reading a lot of material that perhaps a 12 year old shouldn't have been anyways) I was captivated by the poetic make up of the novels, making them visually appealing and an interesting read. Not to mention they are fascinating stories that rarely ever spare you from the harsh realities of life and yet also in a way are able to provide hope.I adore her characters and stories and in a lot of cases aspects of a character if not the entire character feel very relatable to myself and it seems other readers are able to find the same. Impact: While in a way the idea of books that often deal in subject matter that isn't really cheery at all when 12 year old me was exposed to on of her novels for the first time they opened my mind up even further to deeper thoughts and contemplation of life and later when I was going through hard times I found they gave me hope and made me feel like I could keep going.
