XD The Fiske Guide is well thought of, and online you can try Unigo too. ---- For UofT, you must have a composite SAT score of at least 1700 or a composite ACT score of at least 26 in order to be considered for admission, and none of your SAT sub-scores can be below 500..this also applies to the SAT subject tests.

(I've applied for next fall, by the way. ^^) I believe the university has an acceptance rate above 70%....don't know what though exactly. It also probably varies from program to program.

Try CollegeConfidential instead? I'm not sure if UofT is on there, but it's my favourite website to go to when I need college-related advice, or to read about other college/uni students' experiences.

Waterbending-Otaku Oh my. Is there any special paper-work required in going to school in canada? *____________* that sounds like a spiffy college. It is. It's been ranked in the top 3 in Canada for the past few years (we invented insulin here, by the way wink ) but recently is considered number 1. In the world rankings, it beat out McGill University and is ranked #17 in the world rankings. If you come, try to get into the St. George Campus. It's the main one in the centre of downtown Toronto. But I must point out that college means something different in Canada. We focus more so on university, but college is another type of school where you learn a trade, whereas university is another school where you go for academics like life science, humanities, social sciences, business, etc. University is a whole lot more work than college. University is also about 4 years for an undergraduate degree, whereas college is usually 2-3 years for a certificate in something like culinary arts, hotel and restaurant management, paramedicine.

A lot. I don't know all of them. It's a really big university. Out of the top of my head: English (only academic though, English is a basic requirement even though it isn't English speaking), Arabic, Hebrew (for exachange students), German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Sanskrit, Latin, Medieval Latin, Ancient Greek, Aramaic, Akkadian, Old Egyptian, Persian, Dutch, Russian, Quechua, Yiddish...
The department of linguistics has different languages offered every year, some of the recent ones were/are Neo-Aramaic, Lithuanian, Amharic, Gothic, Frisian, Old English, Old Norse, Old Church Salvonic, Coptic, Welsh and Modern Irish. They tend to be either dead or pretty uncommon sometimes but they're all awesome.
I'm sure there are more I don't know of or can't remember. Like I said it's a really big university.
You can get a degree in Hebrew, English, Arabic, French, German and Russian. I think that's all.

I'm almost ashamed of my university... We only have Spanish and French (and only 2 levels of French, there are several for Spanish). Also, an introductory Arabic course should be starting this semester.
And we don't even have a linguistics department. There are 3 whole classes that could fall into this category. emo
