Ever nodded, acknowledging that ‘lucky’ probably wasn’t the best word she could’ve used to describe the situation. She looked over at Mimeco, studying the girl’s face for a moment before smirking also. She then glanced at the door, trying to imagine the dog running into it. “Hey, those Chihuahuas are vicious.” she replied with a laugh.

"Obnoxious would be a more accurate term... Perhaps our friend here is terrified of yipping rats?" Nick grinned, raising an eyebrow at the butt of their jokes. "Joking, babe. Don't need anyone throwing a hissy-fit... The dog might think you're a cat and jump in through the window," he said, grinning.

Mimeco looked at Ever. "Yeah, they don't like me." She tried laughing, but it don't come out as well as she wanted it to. Taking a deep breath, she looked at the door. She put her arms down and popped her nuckles. She shot a harsh glare at Nick before turnning to the door. "I need to get to my grandmother's." She said as she tried turning the knob. "What? The door wont open..." She starting pulling on the door and dismissed their comments. "Come on!" She started to pull harder and harder. "Open!" She stopped and started to pace as she blamed her father for the mess she was in.

Ever shrugged in agreement. She had a Chihuahua back home, and ‘yipping rat’ seemed to describe it perfectly. She put a hand to her mouth, stifling a laugh. When she was sure she wouldn’t burst into laughter, she removed her hand and grinned at Nick. She rolled her eyes. The whole door-not-opening thing was getting on her nerves. "The kitchen door is stuck too." She said, gesturing to the hallway.

"Well, I'm not going anywhere, anyway." Nick shrugged. "When it comes time for me to go, I'm sure I'll find a way out..." He tested the door once anyway, just to make sure, and it sure enough was stuck. He sighed, and walked into the area that appeared to be a living room- plopping himself on the couch. "Might as well get comfortable- chances are we'll be in here a while." He kicked his shoes off, and glanced over at the fireplace. It had wood and everything- maybe a fire would be a good idea later on. "Say, either of you got a cell phone?" He had one, but it was dead.

Ever scuffed her feet against the ancient rug before following Nick’s example and sitting awkwardly in a chair near the fireplace. “So you’re not worried at all about the doors?” She asked, using great effort to just sound mildly curious. Nick’s question reminded her of her phone. She pulled it out of her pocket and looked at it. No messages. She rolled her eyes. Just wait till I get home. I’ll get them back. She thought as she tossed it to Nick.

Mimeco looked at Ever. "Well thats no good." She said as she stopped pacing. She then looked around the room and then turned to Nick. "You have a point." She sighed and she went over to a chair and sat down. She pulled her cell phone out of her pocket and looked at it. It had very little battery power. "I've also got one, but it is almost dead." She cut it off and put it back in her pocket. She felt she needed to save what power she had. Plus calling her grandmother would be useless considering the old woman never picked up the phone and her father wouldn't believe this.

Nick flipped open the phone, and dialed a number. After a moment, he hung up. "That's weird. Nothing, not even a dial tone." He shrugged, tossing the phone back to Ever. "Not too worried- it's only for a night, for me. If you're so freaked out about it, go break through a window or something." He waved towards one of the windows on the side of the house, shrugging.

Ever rolled her eyes and caught her phone as he tossed it to her. “I’m not freaked out” she scoffed as she slipped her phone into her pocket. “If you don’t care about leaving, then why did you need a phone?” Ever stood up and brushed her hair away from her face. She glanced at the two, waiting for a reaction. Then, changing her mind, she turned and headed for the hallway.

"I wanted my friend to bring something to pass the time- a radio tv, or somethin'." Nick muttered, shrugging. "It's all good, though. Hey, is there any food in the fridge?" He smirked, glancing back at the kitchen. He doubted it, considering the house was condemned.

Ever made a face. “Yeah, let me just have the in-home chef whip us up something to eat.” She answered with a smirk. “And then maybe we can have the butler run and buy a plasma screen.” Ever rolled her eyes at Nick. “Now if you’ll excuse me, the living room is getting boring.” She smiled theatrically at the two before continuing down the hall.

Nick made an over-exaggerated gagging noise, and shook his head. "Sorry, I didn't hear you... I was too busy drowning in all that sarcasm," he muttered, chuckling to himself as he leaned against the back arm of the couch and closed his eyes.

“Good.” Ever called back as she walked down the hall. She stopped at what seemed like the middle and decided to play eenie meenie minie moe to pick a door. She almost laughed at her pathetic way of deciding. She reached for a door on her right, and to her surprise, it opened. “Hey guys” She called “I found the stairs!” Without waiting for an answer she started up the stairwell.

Mimeco watched the two talk to each other. She almost laughed at the sarasm that seemed to be passed between them. Then when food was mentioned she jumped on her feet. "I can cook..." Then she sighed realizing that was most likely not going to happen. "Wait... unless some of it has been canned or jarred. They can last quite a bit." She looked in the direction Ever had gone. "Okay." She headed for the kitchen to look for anything.

“Well good luck with that” Ever called to Mimeco. She doubted that Mimeco would find anything, let alone find anything edible. She reached the top of the stairs and found herself in another hallway. Ever bit her lip and picked a door, once again, at random. She opened the door and stepped into the room. It looked like it had once belonged to a little girl. There was now a thick layer of dust and cobwebs on the pale yellow curtains and pink bedspread. She wandered over to a bookshelf on the far side of the room. Without finding anything to satisfy her boredom, Ever turned to leave.
