Kale took her hand with a smile on his face. He was enjoying this game even if it had just started. "My bikes in the shop. A few of my friends deal in repair jobs and I nearly blew my engine last time I really let her loose so I need to get a touch up for her so thats why you didn't hear her.Trust me on this though, if I was riding today you would have heard her roaring down the street and maybe a few sirens if I really decide to have some fun."Kale boasted making up this bogus story in hopes of making the conversation last longer and keep going in the same direction.
The ladies claws didn't scare Kale at all since he had run into weirder in the sewers. He definitely knew this woman was not human. At least from what he knew of humans since claws were not standard issue on all of the humans he had met. Kale racked his brain to try and think of what kind of humanoid had claws on their fingers but drew a blank so he shrugged it off as a passing warning to be prepared for a clawed attack should one come.

Degrend Kale stroled into the shop and surveyed his surroundings. As he had expected the girl was standing in front of him looking at the , what he assumed to be, the owner and a customer. The customer was showing off weapons and talking to the owner who looked like he was having a ball upgrading all of the weapons mentally except the one he already upgraded. "Hmm, steam engines on a blade. What the hell is this world coming to."Kale said to himself as he browsed the shop by himself while listening in on the conversation going on and hoping that the woman could at least prove to do something interesting at the time. Marcus looked angrily at the customer who insulted his blade. He lifts up his steam cannon (in the picture) and holds it over his shoulder. "You really have no idea what you are talking about. You are not the engineer here, I am. Now tell me what you need." He then looks over to the woman who came in. "But ladies first."

Mina laughed again at the stranger's explanation for the absence of his motorcycle, but got cut off by the elf engineer. The huge cannon scared her, and she jumped back two feet and her claws involuntarily extended. She fought the urge to leap to the exit, and calmed down. Her claws now retracted, she put her hand on her chest and breathed out heavily, "Whew! Jeez guy, you know how to get a girl's blood pumping!' Mina felt redness in her cheeks, and was worried that perhaps the engineer wasn't in a hiring mood anymore. It's worth a shot, she reasoned in her head. Stepping forward with her hand extended again, she smiled at the engineer, "Hello sir, I'm Mina Rogers, and I'm currently out of work. You wouldn't happen to have a position open for store clerk, would you?" Her words came out in a rush. The impatience caused by having to wait around coupled with the sudden scare, she was feeling on edge. She really wanted to go for a run through the city and work out the pent-up energy.

Marcus used his goggles zoom in and examine the girl. He then lifts up his goggles to reveal his deep brown eyes as he smiles. "Within a week, I could make you into an natural steam engineer. But if you'd like to work as a clerk, I don't mind." He bows politely despite the amount of dirt, sweat, and oil on his face. "I am Marcus Laridius."

Osylla had noticed when either of the new arrivals had appeared and she'd only send a slight glance to her side and about the room as they'd move about. She'd already taken note of Marcus's skill in practically finishing the work given to him in 12 minutes. (lets say this is when you interested in the work) she was quite sure of her decision well almost, as she'd have to test the weapons as she'd done with the pistol earlier. Listening to the small gallery behind her she'd smirk to herself as her years as a merc had given her slight knowledge or sixth sense for people who were just belting loads of BS. It really was interesting to hear them go on, but Marcus didn't take to kindly to all the bad mouthing of his work. Which was understandable. Engineers were the types to consider themselves artist in a sense and to bad mouth their grade of work or purpose of their craft was like saying the were useless as well. Frankly the conversation crossed over into being rude awhile ago, but that didn't stop it from being interesting. Standing up and walking over to the counter to inspect her upgraded weapons first hand. She'd feel the weight of the pistol first and in her other hand the machete.
Twirling the pistol about a few time and feeling the increase of weight from the added parts she'd still feel okay with it since she'd already been pretty fine as a quick draw., but as for power. Well the bit of wall past the man calling him Jak, which could or most likely was bull, looked right for practice. suddenly stopping with the twirling of her gun she'd quickly load the chamber and take aim lightly digging her teeth into her now exposed tongue. the round would fly past "Jak" and create another cannon ball sized whole. With a whistle she'd notice the slight of shot of the fire much like it's original shotgun action. Really retaining a better use for ballistic action(crowd control), but the power made the distance traveled and power of close range shots considerably devastating. The gaping whole in the wall was testament to all that. "Oh sorry if I cut ya of there Marcus but you got the job as soon I'm done with this..." swing the blade down at the counter she'd clean cut trough it and smile again. "Well you've got your self a nice private contract here Marcus. The Desert Rats have been need'in a engineer for some years now. though I wanna keep ya close to start out. I have some business in a few cities and back alleys. I'll go into detail when we get some more alone time, but if ya hiring 'nail' there I'd say ya should sign her up with me too. She could hold down the fort while your away and I'll lend ya some 'eye's to watch her. Though I'm sure anything she might do isn't out of my experience." Walking over to her gear she'd place her machete back in it's sheath and holster her gun on her. Now walking slowly over to Mina she's hold her hands up as to not shock her further than she already may have if Marcus's big riffle scarred her as it were already. "...Sorry about that but I'm Osylla Salasyll, not too big a name here in G.E.A.R.B.O.L.T but come out to Sairok and you won't get enough of it in the right bars. I do have some work out here from time to time and a girl with...'hands' like yours could be really useful when I go to 'market'." Osylla could smell a fence when she saw one and she'd seen leagues of them in the black market of roughshot. When she'd made reference to her hands it wasn't in offense of her claws, but rather to the dirt she'd caked on them from fencing, well metaphorically. Putting her hand out to shke her claws Osylla would send her a slight smile. As for the other guy she wasn't even sure of what he could be lying for, but he just didn't sit right. Rules of the trade, keep you wits about you.

Kale thought the cannon pointed at him was a little much considering he just made one comment and the reaction of the woman he was talking to made him feel even worse about his situation but the bullet by his head took the cake. Kale was officially not happy with everyone in the room and if they were good at reading body language they would notice it in his stance. "Well I guess I'll apologize for my comment but the merc needs to tone it down a bit. I felt the wind on that round," Kale said in his usual sarcastic style.
Kale was not a mind reader by any means but he knew that the merc probably picked him out as someone who isn't what he seems so he decided to move at a high rate of giddy-up and leave the area before questions were asked."Well it was nice browsing the store but I think I overstayed my welcome." Kale said before walking out the store at a clam pace not usual to anyone with a gun pointed at their head let alone a cannon. [Exit to Low-Gear]

Relieved that Marcus still had some good-humor left in him, Mina bowed back and smiled a little embarrassed smile, "Hehehe, that's kind of you, but I'm really far more comfortable handling money rather than steam pistons and whatnot. Anyways," she continued, her face a little more serious, "Thank you for the work Mr. Laridius. It is very much appreciated." She was going to ask her new employer about how he ran his business, but was startled again by the tall woman as she started firing rounds at Jak, into the wall, and chopping into counters. At least if anyone tears up this shop it won't be so unusual, she thought. Her fright wasn't so bad, but she did blink hard every time a firearm discharged. The woman seemed pleased with the work Marcus had done, and was surprised when she started talking to him about a Guild contract. Mina was slightly miffed when she suggested that she couldn't be trusted and raised an eyebrow. When the woman went to put her machete away, the Jak fellow left in a hurry. Mina's interest was piqued since he was pretty shifty. He was bigger than most thieves she dealt with, but he could have been part of a team of muggers or something. You never know.
Her interest shifted when the woman started heading towards her, hands up in a placating manner, which in a way, Mina appreciated. She introduced herself, and at the mention of a "market," Mina was hopeful. Osylla knew the game, and was willing to make her a player! Grinning widely, she shook the mercenary's hand firmly, "The pleasure is mine, Miss Salasyll. I would be honored to work with you as well!" After the handshake, she rubbed her hands together for a second and then said to both Marcus and Osylla, "So, let's work out a business plan now. Osylla pays Marcus for repairs, Marcus pays me as the clerk, and I pay Osylla for whatever she brings me?" She giggled a little at the cyclical nature of this partnership. For now, Mina felt very confident in how this would work out. Osylla was a good connection to have, and probably had some or her own, and with the clerk job she would have capital to start buying. She wouldn't have to steal from her employer, but it occurred to her that Mr. Laridius might not appreciate her dealing with anyone other than Osylla at his shop. "Quick question though, Mr. Laridius. Would you object to any other..." Mina waved her hand, as though she was searching for a word, "Transactions taking place in your shop besides my deals with Osylla? I would also need a secure area to store my own wares as well. And don't worry - I always keep my own finances separate from my employer's." Used to discussing things of this nature with people who had obviously liberated views on the concept of "ownership," such as Osylla displayed, Mina felt somewhat apprehensive discussing this with Marcus. He seemed like a straight-laced guy and as law-abiding as you could get in G.E.A.R.B.O.L.T. She was worried such talk would make him change his mind about hiring her.

Marcus grinned as he heard about the private contract. He walks over and opens up his garrage, where his car aws parked. The halftrack was perfectly suited for offroad use and had a machine gun for the passenger to use. "Alright, gives me a good chance to test out shorty here." He laughs as he pats Mina on the head.

Osylla would smile as Marcus made his way towards his garage door and revealed the scary looking steam powered vehicle. She'd give a slight whistle and walk next to Mina. "See we're all set. No troubles or disagreements between use. Though I'll be need'in a to wear this. Quickly taking Mina's hand she take something out of her back pocket and trail her hand slowly up her arm. Then pressing something hard onto her arm. It was a magical marker, and it left the symbol of the Desert Rat on her shoulder. "It's not really permanent as long as your with use. So~ we'll be away and to back ya up I'll call two of my sons to come help ya start out. Find a place and I'll pay for the storage to start. Trafficking anything here with out the mobs knowledge or okay is hard. Though you've got guts to even been saying half the things you say kid. So your now an official partner of the Desert Rats mercenary guild, and as long as that marks on your arm I'll know I can thrust ya." Looking deep into Mina's eyes all the while as she spoke Osylla didn't blink and gently held her claws in her gloved hands. "My boys will pick up messages from me from time to time and give ya word on use. Don't worry I won't keep Marcus for long and then you two can get better acquainted."
Walking over to her gear she'd start to put it on and strap the various items onto herself. Tossing the metal stamp which seemed to have no ink, but rather was a small branding iron. It worked with out hurting those it marked, and Osylla was sure Mina would have good use for knowing who she could thrust. The marker worked for who made the mark and the symbol made would change with the persons cause. " Know your enemies kid, and my boys should come around soon so stay on ya heels. Marcus you ready to go?!" Looking over to Marcus she'd smile in wait of an answer.
(okay sami the whole thing with her sending bodyguard type of guys aren't really so much for protection but rather surveillance. Also this way I can give you a better introduction to the way my guild will work. So I'm gonna just NPc two guys and their info's really gonna be simple as to what they're meant for and good at.)

Darrion pushed the door open, seeing a decent amount of people here, he made sure that his sleeves were past his hands. ...maybe i should come back later... his hand rubbed over the cracked metal plate on his arm and he sighed. i need this fixed now....steampunk. ive been to a number of mechanics and engeniers in gearbolt, but never one that was steampunk. Darrion walked away from the door and looked around, there was already a line, and what he needed done would take a little time. and if he had the money, maybe he could get a boost in power. Darrion has heard both good and bad things about steam and he figured he might give it a go.

Taking Marcus' jovial reaction as a, "Sure, whatever kid," kind of answer, she laughed and mumbled in a sing-song voice, "I can still jump higher than you!" Leaning over to see through the garage door, Mina's eyes widened as she espied his monstrous vehicle. "Me-oh-my..." she said. She looked over to Osylla as she walked towards her and started talking to her. Smiling as she described a future, happy partnership, the quickness that the Guildwoman grabbed her hand made her upper-lip twitch involuntarily into a snarl for a second. Calm the hell down, woman! Mina chided herself. For the most part she loved being who and what she was, but it was ultimately delicate situations like this that triggered instinctual reactions where she wished she had just been human. Or at least something that wasn't predatory and violent in nature.
As Osylla explained what she was doing, Mina looked at her with an amount of suspicion. Either this woman was really desperate for a fence in G.E.A.R.B.O.L.T. which she doubted, or she still didn't trust her in any way shape or form. Which Mina completely understood, but it still didn't make her happy about it. To surprise the Hunter even more, Osylla was offering not only Guild help already, but to finance some essential features for her business. Mina became excited when she went on to mention trafficking... until now Mina had just been dealing with normal and legal, albeit stolen, merchandise. Apprehension took over mentioning she would likely be competing with the various mobs. "Well, I'm glad for the man-power if I'm going to be trafficking now. I doubt there's anyone in my clientele that can safely buy what you'll be bringing in, so in those messages you should tell me what you plan on bringing and who would be interested if you know anyone. I can work out a deal even before you get back, if that's what you'd like," she shrugged as Osylla turned to gear up again, "It would certainly be very efficient."
Nodding as Osylla told her that she would send her sons soon, another person walked into Marcus' store. Seeing his hands covered, Mina moved hers into her pockets in one quick movement. She grinned mischievously at the newcomer, and laughed as she replied to Osylla, "Alright, I'll be hopping around here and Low-Gear. I got my own friends to talk to now, so have your boys ask around for 'the Profit' if they can't find me," Mina then walked closer to Osylla, leaned in and said quietly, "Thanks for the backing, too. I'll get you the info about the rent or whatever when I find a place." Increasing the distance between them again with a smile, Mina waved to Marcus and Laridius, "Hey, at the very latest I'll be back 'round tomorrow morning for closing info and whatnot. Later guys!" She walked past the boy and gave him an obvious wink, and stepped out the door, closing it gently.
Right outside the door, Mina heaved a big sigh and shook her head. She was excited to have the kind of connections that this Guild hopefully had, excited to have a job on top of that, but worried about Osylla. She was obviously a danger to anyone she wasn't fond of, and unfortunately Mina didn't know what kind of person the merc didn't like. On top of that, she would soon be competing with the mobs in the area. Overall, the situation was promising. Whether what it promised was good or bad, it was impossible to tell at this point. Rolling her shoulders to loosen up, Mina walked quickly to the back of the Emporium, and jumped and grabbed onto one of the building's ledges. She really didn't care if they heard inside, so she purposely made a lot of scrambling, scratching, and thumping noises on the metal part of the structure. Laughing to herself, she crouched onto all fours, and sprang about thirty feet to the next roof. She continued this as she made her way to the parts of Low-Gear she frequented.
(Sounds good to me, Elyse.)

Marcus nodded to Osylla. "I gotta pack my gear, but I would prefer it if my new apprentice came with me. Being a steam engineer means you gotta work in every kind of environment." He walks to the back and notices the new individual who came in. "I'm sorry sir, but we're closing up." Putting his steam cannon on his back, he starts to pack some other weaponry and steam repair gear. He gets into his vehicle and rides to the front of the shop where Osylla was. The building locks up after the last customer leaves. "I have a feeling I know where shorty is. I'll meet you at the desert town of Roughshot, since I've done some dealings there." He drives off towards Lower Gear 8.

darrion nodded and grabbed his arm again before walking out of the shop. "well, i guess ill get the repairs somewhere else...if i can find another mechanic that is." Darrion had no clue what to do. and to get his air fixed, he didnt look for a shop, he alwasy seemed to stumble upon one. "well...might as well explore gearbolt a little more." Darrion said as he decided to head to the gate

Osylla wasn't really one to get in the way of others business unless it got in the way of her own. Since Mina and Marcus were now sorta part of her family of merc's she'd leave it be and have no objections to Mina being dragged along. Meaning she'd have to leave her muscle heads "sons" sit it out till the pair returned to get the G.E.A.R.B.O.L.T faction of the Desert Rat rolling. Things were shaping up well , pretty much just as Osylla had planned, but she was a merc and she couldn't shake the facts scurrying to trough every crack and corner in this city. These people were freaks of a broken and lowering moral stability. Everyone had to evolve into a carnivorous fiend and they wee encircling her even now, though it was just her thoughts. She'd nod to Marcus as he'd come about front and the boy who'd come to see him had left. Osylla having her sand cloak handy wouldn't take much more than a blink of an eye to return home and then to roughshot, a place she'd done business so many times. Standing n the corner of Marcus's shop she'd look down the road and watch the people go by for awhile as shed' sigh a bit shrugging her shoulders. It was a long way till her goal. the sand would see to form from out of her cloths and envelope her in a cloak of the street then to that of her home.
