Guns can be taken away easily its just a matter of not getting shot. I would think the bets martial arts for taking away a gun would be a modern karate class. Like kenpo karate, one that uses self defense techniques. Im not sure if MMA uses self defense techniques but if it dose that might be a good one to.
Gun can be taken away ... assuming the person holding the gun is close to you ... say arms reach ... maybe leg reach ... anything beyond that ... BANG BANG ...
That isn't strictly speaking correct. Krav maga teaches engagement ranges for guns, with the optimal range being, as you say, arm's reach, second optimal leg's reach, third optimal one step, and so on out to about ten feet. And the Spetsnaz are notorious for training specific sets of maneuvers to dodge gunfire until they're close enough to do all manner of unpleasant things to you. It is a great flaw to think that a gun between you and your opponent gives you overwhelming advantage. There
is and advantage there, but a canny opponent who is aware of their surroundings can make a gunman's day all manner of unpleasant. If guns were a deciding factor, after all no military would bother to train their people in close combat.
MMA has some beautiful weapon disarmament techniques in its self-defensive forms. Most of these derive directly from techniques found in more traditional arts. A person who is trained to use MMA defensively is just as dangerous as a karateka or TKD player if you get your weapon too close. And these days, even boxing has ways of getting around knives and guns. I think the simplest, most effective technique (which is found in most styles but the boxing variety I saw was amusing) was to step out of the line of the gun, block the inside of the forearm, and simply smash the face of the gunman until they couldn't move anymore. At any rate, in summation you should never assume that a gun/bow/crossbow/throwing knife/frisbee-of-doom will make you invincible. Bullets move in a straight line and come in limited supply.
