  Haruka was surprised. "No, that's not it," she shook her head. "She never knew him that well to begin with. She said he was just there for a few seasons, visiting his grandparents. He went back home before my mom even knew she was pregnant." Carly hadn't known that? "My mom doesn't like to talk about it just because she doesn't like all of the attention, but I don't think she's ever been mad at him," she shrugged. He had always been low on the Koyama family radar, though Yuuto had contacted him a few years prior.

x████████x x████████x Ah, so... he wasn't a jackass? Well, maybe a little, but just because he doesn't keep contact with his daughter and all that. "Oh... I didn't know that. Like I said, your mother doesn't talk about him much," she paused, "At least, not with me." she nodded, taking the final gulp and finishing off her hot chocolate. She sat up then, extending her hand to Haruka with her empty cup. "Or...?" she asked awkwardly, making an indication that she could hold it for a little while longer.
What was taking Nanami so long?! Talking with her daughter was really awkward! Nanami's laid-back and relaxed attitude always made Carly feel more at ease. But when her teen daughter was talking to her, she felt like she was being scrutinized or something. Was it because of their combined insecurity? x████████xCARLY TALBOT x████████x THE BROKEN DOLL

  Haruka fell silent. Maybe she had been mistaken? Maybe... She turned red. Oh no, she had misunderstood the situation! So when she heard her mother's footsteps, she mumbled a quick "Nice to meet you and hurried back into the house, bumping into Nanami on her way in. Nanami looked surprised. "What was that?" she asked with a confused smile. "That kid has gotten so weird lately... Sorry for the wait, by the way."

x████████x x████████x What? Wait, no! Carly frowned, as she was forced to hold her now empty cup. "Yeah, definitely weird." Carly agreed, quite lamely. She stood at that, moving over to the desk and leaving the mug on it. "All kids are at that age, right?" she smiled lightheartedly, though she probably had worst issues than Haruka would ever have. Haruka was young and pretty, with a whole future ahead of her. Carly could only hope to sell a big hit, like those Harry Potter and Twilight novels.
Her life was so boring and uneventful nowadays, but she definitely prefered this over all the fighting back home. "You should take good care of her, some kids never grow out of that phase..." she gave Nanami a sad smile, "I should be going, I bet Matthew's worried about me." she lied, putting on an apologetic look, after checking her watch; for effect. "Some other time, maybe?" which she then proceeded to to plaster on a look of whistful hopefulness. x████████xCARLY TALBOT x████████x THE BROKEN DOLL

-New day thingie~- Both Nanami and Haruka were sitting around the parlor, as usual. Things had been quiet around here, but that was mainly because Nanami had been moping about her thirtieth. Her birthday had come and gone, and nothing had changed. So now she was disappointed. Both looked up when the door opened and in walked Raiden. Haruka was startled, Nanami was not. "Ahh, you're the new guy?" Nanami said casually, setting down the tattoo gun (she had been cleaning it) and standing up to walk over and shake Raiden's hand. "You hired someone?" Haruka was surprised, and all of a sudden she felt self conscious about sitting in the receptionist chair. It wasn't hers anymore! She quickly hopped over to sit somewhere else. Nanami looked back at Haruka and nodded. "Figured we could use the help," she explained before turning back to Raiden. "No problem, we're pretty lax about time around here. I'm Nanami Koyama, that's my daughter Haruka," she grinned and held out her hand to shake.

 Haruka peered at him from behind her magazine (that she had pulled out from under the chair) when he greeted her. She wasn't sure what to think about her mother hiring a young, good-looking guy like that! Especially since it seemed like Nanami hadn't even spoken to the guy before. Haruka couldn't help but let out a sigh at her mother's carelessness. If they ended up murdered or robbed, it wasn't her fault. Nanami noticed his discomfort and broke into a grin. "Don't be so stiff! Your desk is here, feel free to do with it as you please. Except move it; it's pretty cramped in here as it is," she joked with a laugh. Shoving her hands into her pockets, she began to shuffle towards her own desk. "Ever work in a tattoo parlor before?" she asked. Haruka almost facepalmed. Wasn't that something you normally asked beforehand?

 Haruka turned pink when Raiden turned and smiled at her. She was caught! Quickly, she pretended to concentrate deeply on her magazine, though she still looked at him from the corner of her eye when he turned back around. She wasn't an easy person to win over, so her suspicions wouldn't go away with just a grin. "Huh, really?" Nanami was surprised. But what luck! She had expected some kid with little to no experience. It was an easy job, since they didn't get as many customers as any other businesses. "Cool, that makes it easier for me," she grinned and winked playfully.

"Hmm, not really," Nanami sighed as she walked back to her desk, plopping down on the chair. "Just enough to pay the bills." She propped her elbow up on the back of the chair and leaned back. Haruka nonchalantly flipped through her magazine, though she wasn't really looking at the pages, but listening carefully. "You picked a boring place to work. Sorry," she said simply. Nanami clapped a hand over her chest as if her heart ached. Her daughter could be so cruel sometimes! "You just moved here, right, Raiden? How do you like it?" Might as well change the subject~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Going to get a tattoo! WAAHOO!! the eighteen year old girl thought to herself as she skipped about happily until she reached the tattoo palor. This looks like the place... she was all giddy to be a rebel even more so since her parents kicked her butt out of the house. It was one thing to be a lesbian and get kicked out for having wild lesbian sexy in you room without permission... It was completely different then to do it at your own house, and have a sexy tattoo on your back side that prompted question. Yes, Marissa liked to think herself a sexy beast, but she couldn't really be completely until she was inked up at least a little bit. She was thinking something across her lower back that would peak out of the top of her low-rise jeans when she wore them. Yes! That would be idea! She walked inside of the shop and looking around curiously. Oh, this was going to be so great! She just had to pick out what she wanted and then get it! Now she was wondering if it really hurt all that much... Probably not. She had a pretty high tolerance for pain... Or at least that's what she kept telling herself. I mean, being beat with a whip is one thing, getting stabbed with a needle at rapid speed to inject dyes was completely different. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was just another day at work, and Nanami was doing some tidying up. It was a small place, so it got dusty easily~ She was rearranging the things on her work desk when the door opened with a cheerful jingle. She looked up to find a teenage girl standing in the entryway. She wasn't surprised; it seemed that most of her customers were teenagers. It was hard to be rebellious on this island, so she seemed to attract kids from other villages as well. "Hi, can I help you?" Nanami asked her with a smile as she turned in her chair to face the girl.
