So, my turn to get hit came along. Me and my friend were training. He tried to grab my wrist to wrap me up. My reaction was to break the grip right away and swing for the head.

This, said we were apparently training face shots xd

He went in and threw a nice swing at my jaw. I tucked my chin and deflected it instinctively. He felt his fist go into/by my mouth and stopped, asking if I was alright, if I had a cut.

I wasn't really sure if I had one or not. But, the side of my jaw that got hit was kinda slightly numb, ish. Not in bad pain or anything but I could tell I was hit there y'know?

I walk over to the mirror and check. To my pleasant surprise I go, "No, I'm fine."

He got a cut on one of his knuckles from my tooth. I had a good deflection. His fist hit, somewhere he wasn't aiming. He was impressed that my first reaction to someone trying to grab and wrap me up was to swing for the head too.

Your friend should check that out ... getting cut from a tooth .. well those can get infectous quick ...

Yeah, the human mouth is a cesspit, and not just because of the language that can come from it. A leading cause of tetanus is accidental cuts from another person's mouth, not to mention the other virulent bacteria that can exist there. And that doesn't even take into account the possibility of pathogens such as HIV (which can translate through saliva though only rarely) or a herpecitic virus (which can come from a cold sore.) These are the concerns that fighters rarely consider when they get into an altercation, but even if you win, you can lose.
