probably Japanese manga becuase I get to read the ending without waiting for another three years for the english version to come out.
Yep, three years for vol 22 to be out. I worked it out a little while ago. >< Hopefully 1 1/2 if they go back to published one every two months.

I prefer the manga because I don't think that the anime does it justice (and it cut off way to soon.) I am working on Japanese but I still can't read it very good so I think that I will be sticking with English for awhile. mrgreen

Nickybobaloo09 Both english anime and manga Ditto. Though the manga is far better than either version of the anime, but I also don't mind the Japanese version of the anime either.

I've only watched the english version of Fruitsbasket... and I've only read the english version of the manga ( because I can't read japanese... and I don't think I'll ever learn. crying )
but out of the two I like the manga much better! there's a lot more to the story (plot twists and romance! and the fact that there's just more of it!)

No, I'm not apart of the guild, but I'll put in my two cents anyways.
I'm a long-time watcher/reader of Fruits Basket. Well, was a reader. Certain utterly stupid and out-of-the-blue events caused me to stop reading it ( I never forgave the creator for turning Akito into a girl. It hurt my villainous pride to see "her" sleeping around with people out of weakness. Also Kureno randomly becoming curse-free without intense plot development beforehand = not cool.).
The anime Akito, and the anime Hatsuharu, still have a place in my heart. I will always treasure the RPs in which I drove people onto the verge of a nervous breakdown, or two, or three...
I would have probably liked the manga if it had not turned into a soap opera, and then had such a pathetically happy ending that it made even the anime look somber. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is really saying something.
I adore the Japanese cast for the anime. I liked the voices, even though Hisakawa made Yuki sound a bit girly, and Ayame made me double-take in shock. Akito was dead-on. Subtle. Dangerous. Slightly off-balanced in the sanity department. He was my favorite villain for a long, long time (And then Takaya killed him, and turned his image into a girl. A weak, sane, needy girl. I have not overemphasized anything.).
I'm not the only one of this opinion. They aren't on this guild, but both of my long-term RPing friends (my Tohru and Yuki) hate what happened to the manga. They nearly keeled over in agony when they were informed of the travesty that occured to the series. And we were awesome RPers, too. You should see some of our work. Priceless, multi-paragraph, suspense-filled plots.
To quote non-verbatim my Tohru... It was such a good series. WAS.

I like the manga beter. It's more detailed than the anime. One of my friends watched it and came to the conclusion that only Kyo was able to escape from the cures, but could still transform into a cat. Let me remind you that they only watched the anime and never read the book. I started telling them that they were mistaken and they actually tried to prove me wrong when I saw and read the manga and anime. People...
