Oh my. I hope this doesn't sound pretentious, but I have been studying language for quite a long time. My aim is to become an interpreter and eventually a teacher, so the list is quite long.

I am an American-born Frenchman, and my first language is English with French right behind as my second. Beyond that, I can read, write and speak:
Japanese (quite a popular one, too)
Swedish
Norwegian
Greek (Hellenistic) <-- This unfortunately excludes modern Greek for now.
Latin
Old (West) Norse

I know some of:
Egyptian hieroglyphics (I can only read them and vaguely write/draw them; I cannot pronounce them.)
German (Just a few phrases; I can't pronounce very well at all.)
Dutch (Same state as the German. Actually, I tend to pronounce German like its Dutch, since I started to learn Dutch first.)
Chinese (Mandarin [Those tones! Most of the characters I know in Chinese I have learned through Japanese, though that sometimes creates confusing situations. No, it's "demon". No, it's "ghost". Well, they're both similar, and it is the same character in both languages...])
Russian (My vowel pronunciation = poop. I can read it pretty well, as the alphabet was largely based on the Greek one. The grammar is similar to Latin, so I understand a little, but that's really as far as it goes.)
Portugese (This and the following two only through Latin; vocabulary and grammar are somewhat similar, so my recognition of the words and meaning doesn't go very far.)
Italian
Spanish (Castilian)
Danish (While I can read and write it, I cannot pronounce it without sounding Swedish, haha.)

I aim to learn:
ALL of them!
But in the near future. =P
Arabic
Sanskrit
Indonesian
Tagalog
Malay
Myanmar/Burmese
Various other southeast Asian languages, and many more! >3

So, of course, that's why I'm here. And don't get me wrong; I don't doubt that some of you here can teach me a thing or two about every language on this list, including the ones at the top, so don't think that I'm unwilling to learn. There's always room for more!

My favorite language would be Russian, though my native tongue is English (so I guess that is my second favorite). Then I'd say I my third favorite is German despite me knowing little to none, and my least favorite though I have to put it up there as being better than French and other languages I don't know at all is Spanish.

English Is my first language. ^^ I know a tad bit of Japanese, and I'm tapping into French.

English and German are both kind of my first language... I grew up with half of my family speaking English, and the other German, so I learnt them at the same time. If those two are my 'first' language, then French would be my second. I took Spanish for a couple of years in school, making it my third language, and now I'm teaching myself Italian. My fourth language. Come to think of it, it's no wonder I don't have much of a social life, lol. XD

I don't really have a favourite language. They're all pretty amazing.

English is my first, French is my second, both of which I'm fluent in. My third is Japanese ^o^ I really like all of these languages! Ah, and I know a bit of German too, but mostly food words and insults xp

English is my first language. I suppose Spanish would be my second, since I'm not fluent in it, but I know enough that I could get by if I had to. I'm in the process of trying to teach myself Italian (it's stop-and-go at best >.<). My list after that includes:
Japanese
Chinese
German
Latin
Greek (both ancient and modern)
French
Russian
Spanish (to become more fluent in)
Gaelic

English, french (basic), and japanese (Still learning)
PostPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:38 pm

I maintain that I speak no language fluently although English is my first language, with Spanish being my second (Off and on since I live in New Mexico and it tends to be helpful to know some words but truly started studying in High school ((not that I can actually talk to someone who's fluent but hey I try))) Then last year I took French (Know a few words, enough to form a sentence and oddly talk about breakfast). I also have more then one friend who speak fluent Japanese, although I still can't seem to get more then a few words. Favorite depends on my mood. Most of the time its Spanish, French if I am trying to mess with that person or am half asleep.

My first language is English, but I've always thought speaking just one language was boring. So I took German when i first got to high school (my second language) and then French the next year (my third) and I've been attempting to teach myself Finnish, Turkish, Russian, Dutch and Japanese. I'd have to say of all those languages, German's my favourite (with Russian as a VERY close second). I really do like all languages though smile

my first language is Dutch (leuk dat je ook een beetje Nederlands spreekt)
and is speak a bit english, french and german
