Wednesday 12-2-09 10:27 A.M. >Kisu<
He knows?! This can't be!... How... Why?!... Not Jason! Not my Jason! Kisu could not formulate a coherent thought, let alone form a sentence. She stared at Jason for a long while, not saying anything. After a minute or two, she finally asked, though afraid of the answer. "What is the Daemon to you?"

Jason sat in an uncomfortable silence that seemed to last a lifetime. He saw the massive mix of emotion on Kisu's face, and dreaded what could happen next. Finally she broke the silence. "What is the Daemon to you?" she asked, no emotion in her voice. Again, Jason could not meet her eyes. "I'm a member of the Daemon network. I have been for the last two and a half months."he said matter of factlly. He hadn't seen anything wrong with the Daemon yet, but his voice was still distant, due to Kisu's reaction. He looked at her. "Now how do you know the Daemon?"

Wednesday 12-2-09 10:36 A.M. >Kisu< Kisu's mind shut down for a moment. That is what happens when one finds out that one's closest friend is part of something you have been fighting against from the beginning. Her face blank, her eyes glazed over, Kisu stared into Jason unseeing. Slowly she came back to reality. She closed her eyes, her eyebrows furrowing, and stood up abruptly. Perhaps a bit to abruptly, as she nearly knocked over the hot chocolate. She paused, then grabbed her phone, still with it's target message on the screen and shoved it at Jason before walking out of the shop to sit on the edge of a planter in the shade of a tree. She put her head in her hands and tried to keep the tears welling up from spilling down her cheeks.

Jason stared back at Kisu. He saw her mental shutdown, and wondered just what he said that could have gotten such a reaction from her. Then she shot up, eyebrows furrowed. When the LED screen was shoved into his face, he read over it's contents, but did not make a connection at first. Then horrible realization gripped him as Kisu stalked out. Her absences, her wounds, and the local daemon member murders. They were all connected. She was killing Daemon members. Why!? he wondered as he stood up and, backpack over his shoulder, he looked around. Finally he spotted Kisu, hunched over by a planter. He walked over, and sat down next to her, placing her cell phone on the cement between them. He was terrified, but he knew Kisu, or at least thought he did. "I don't understand whats happening, but..." he couldn't find words. He could not explain the Daemon in their current states. After a long moment of silence he spoke. "It doesn't matter what happens..." he paused, once again looking for words, "But you are still my best friend...hell, your more than that. And we'll find a way around this together..." Then just sat in silence, hoping, wishing he could do something...anything.

Wednesday 12-2-09 10:37A.M. >Kisu< Kisu waited, listening to Jason. More than friends he said. So he thought so too. She sniffled and looked at him. "It doesn't matter what happens? Jason,... I have to kill you. I doubt you'll want to be with me when I kill you." she almost whispered it. She stared at the ground, watching a trail of ants make their way into a crack in the cement. She tapped her cell phone screen as she thought. When she spoke again, her voice had a steel edge to it. "What are you doing with the Daemon anyway?" She caught and held his eye. The Daemon were the ones behind her father's murder. How could Jason possibly be with such an organization?!

Wednesday 12-2-09 10:30-10:40 ~Io~ Io woke up to the sound of his alarm. For the fifth time. He had a terrible habit of hitting the snooze button continuously. He rolled out of bed and actually turned off his alarm. He was up, for real now. He stood up and groped for his glasses. They looked like normal prescription glasses but they had been modified to do the same thing the orange sports glasses that were standard issue for all Daemon members. He put them on and sent a message to Jason. It was about time for their usual morning info swap. When he did not respond, Io got curious. He located his friend and, once dressed, set out to meet him. After all, Io's classes did not start until noon.
Io spotted Jason and his close friend Kisu sitting outside the cafe. But to Io's concern, neither of them looked happy. Io found a spot where he could see them but they could not see him, and began eavesdropping.

Jason looked at Kisu. "What do you mean you have to kill me?!" he said, a little anger in his voice. Some nearby students looked at them in confusion and he lowered his voice. He was scared, for both of them. When she asked why he was in the daemon, he paused for a moment. He didn't know how to describe it, but he tried. "The Daemon...look it's a bit complicated to explain." He looked into her eyes. He'd always found them striking, but now, they looked fatally so. Finally he was able to hold her gaze. He refused to believe that she was behind the Daemon Killings, but needed to find out none the less. "And why are you...killing members?"

Wednesday 12-2-09 10:41 A.M. >Kisu<
"You are on the target list, Jason. I don't want to kill you. But even if I don't, someone else will." She did not know what to do. She could not forgive the Daemon for killing her father, but surely Jason was not the one who killed him. When Jason asked why she was killing Daemon members, she sighed. It was a very touchy subject. She stood, wiping her weepy eyes. "The Daemon... Killed my father."

Jason sighed. He was angry, hurt and sad at the same time, but by the way she was acting, so was Kisu. When she said that he was on 'the target list', it confirmed his fears. She was working as a mercenary for the government. He was about to ask her why, when she stood up and revealed something horrible. He wondered why she hadn't told him before, thinking that they had more trust in each other than to keep those kind of secrets. He looked down at the cement. Every detail was suddenly in very sharp focus. He stood up and grabbed her in a soft hug. "I'm sorry" he whispered. He could not think of anything else to say as he held her, and for the second time in just ten minutes, he felt very helpless.

Wednesday 12-2-09 10:45 A.M. >Kisu<
Kisu could not hold them back anymore; the tears began to spill down her face. She did not understand. Everything she knew about the Daemon was that it was evil. There was no way Jason was evil. He was her closest friend! She put her head on his shoulder and waited for the tears to stop. “I don’t want to kill you.” She whispered into his shoulder. After she had exhausted her tears, she put her hands on Jason’s shoulders and pushed herself away gently. Letting out a breath, she looked at Jason and smiled. “I’m not going to kill you. But,” She looked down, a pain in her chest. This would be the hardest thing she would ever have to do. “You can’t be anywhere near me. This is probably the last time we can see each other.” Grabbing her book bag, she turned to go.

Jason just held Kisu, all the while holding back his own sadness. She pushed away from him and gave him a sad smile. Then threw his world into confusion. Never see each other again? his brain kept rolling the words around in his mind. He suddenly felt horribly sick to his stomach, and Kisu turned around to leave. It looked as though she were walking down a long and distant tunnel, and Jason couldn't move. Finally he was able to take control of his limbs. "Kisu wait!" he said. Leaving his backpack he ran up and grabbed her hand. He had moist streaks down his cheeks, and his stomach felt as though it was twisting like some animal in its final death throws. "We cant just vanish from each others lives like this..." he said, unwilling to accept it. He had feelings for her, some he hadn't even been aware of until just now, and he would not...no, could not watch her leave.

Wednesday 12-2-09 10:50AM >Kisu<
When she felt the tug of Jason’s hand on hers, Kisu stopped. “Jason,” She began, her back still to him. “I don’t want to see anything happen to you. If we stay close, I will HAVE to kill you.” She clenched her fists. Why?! Was losing Father not enough?! Do I have to lose Jason Too? She pulled her hand away from Jason’s grasp. For a moment, she just stood there, eyes closed tight and fists clenched. “Jason…” She took a deep breath, “I love you. But that’s why I can’t ever see you again.” Kisu took off at a sprint. She had to get out of there as fast as she could.

The moment Kisu's hand slipped from his, he heard her speak, could feel the wave of emotion radiating off of her, and then she ran. And he went blank. His mind shut down. For a long moment he could do absolutley nothing, not even think. He was completly and utterly emptey. Finally, as echoes of Kisu's running faded, Jason blinked, his composure returning. He looked around. A dozen or so students were gathered around the area, staring in silence, and though Jason was aware of his surroundings, all he could think of was Kisu..or the lack thereof.

Wednesday 10-2-09 11:05 A.M. ~Io~
Io had seen the whole ordeal. He tried to find information on Kisu, something he thought he would never have to do need to do. Amazingly, Io could find no incriminating information on her. If she was indeed working for the government, they were keeping it well under wraps. He focused his aqua blue nine-year-old eyes on Jason. He looked as if he had turned to stone. Io closed the windows on his glasses and sighed. Rising from his hiding place, he approached Jason, “Jay?” He tapped his brother on the shoulder gently.

Io's gentle tap brought Jason back into the world of the living, and all the pain that came along with it. He looked up at him, his face streaked with dry tears. "I...She..." he tried to collect his jumbled thoughts, but that was an impossible venture. He looked around, and students would look away when his gaze fell on them. One however was wearing the same orange sports glasses that Jason had, he was looking at Jason, then distantly at the unseen screen within the glasses. Jason looked back at Io. "She's part of the feds...she killed people, some I knew through the net...but I still love her...why?" he asked the air. He slid his backpack over one sholder and began deftly walking back towards his dorm. He was sure Io would stay with him every step of the way, but he still felt beaten and hollow. Alone.
