*pads softly to the waters edge and purrs under her breath, placing a white lilly on the shore and lighting a white candle, sticking it in the sand next to the flower*
I light a candle to guide you, I sing a song to comfort you, I bring love to console you, and I beg the goddess to help you find rest.
Being the Seattleite I am, i raise a cup of coffee to you and your grandfather. He sounds like a good man, and as my priestess would have said, "The Goddess has a new favorite."
All light jokes aside, i am very sorrowful to hear of your loss, and hope that all goes well. I have no ancient, or even native words to say, but know i have lit a candle and cast runes to send you comfort and strength.

Some people say that death is the next big adventure, that when you die you move on to another plane of existence to live life there. I personally like to think that when we die we get sent to another realm where fantasy is reality. And if that be the truth I will one day leave this world and join with all my deceased loved ones and my physical body in this realm may perish but forever shall my spirit live on. Upon death our loved ones are reborn and live in a world without pain, a world without death but a world of fantasy. One where they can do anything they want. Know this, young friend, your grandfather's body is what has ended but his spirit, his life, his very being lives on both in your heart, your families heart, and in the Great beyond. So have no sadness for it truly is not a sad moment that one has passed. No, not a sad moment but a moment of peace, a moment in which we can know that they will always be safe and always be with us. Celebrate your grandfathers life and laugh at the good memories, cry at the sad ones.
It is now your time to shine, live your life and make your grandfather proud. We all are here. We aren't your friends. We are your family and this is Devoncroix! So stand proud amongst your family and know that you will always have your grandfather with you spiritually.*bows*

I am sorry for your loss but Lycos is right you will see him again and when you do it shall be somewhere more wonderful then anything we could possibly imagine.

Losing a Elder is a great loss, When our Great Grand-father and Gran-Mother died, there was mourning through out the entire family. But the trick Lukan, to dealing with loss, is remembering the good memories. Be Happy that you have memories of your grandfather, Be glad that you got to meet the older generation, because without our gran-parents we would not exist. Don't make your grandfather upset with too much sorrow, we are all here for you.
