Last time I checked, Christ was my Holy Symbol and my Redeemer and personal Saviour, not the cross. I respect the object by which He died, as a device used for the purpose of killing people. I find it sad when people have crosses around their neck, crosses in their churches, crosses in their homes, but not a single picture of their Saviour, or scripture verses, or not a single good memory of their Saviour other than the device of how He died.

Saying things like "the cross is stupid", "It's pointless", etc...

The cross itself is meaningless. Two pieces of wood put together. There is nothing special, nothing holy about a tree. It is the ACT PERFORMED upon on the cross that is holy. Take the catholics when they wear the crucifix. A CRUCIFIX is a depiction of a cross with Jesus still on it. That makes me think that they are trying to teach he never rose. But the empty cross that people wear is not better. I agree with whoever on here sayd this, It HAS been too commercialized. There is nothing special about the cross now. If you think by wearing one you are proclaiming your faith, no one sees it that way now. It is seen as a piece of jewelry. If you want to proclaim your faith, go talk to people. Read your Bible in public, that'll get you LOTS of people talkin to you. And be sure you can defend your faith logically against the people who will attack you.
