Marine opened her mouth, but Gabriel cut her off.
"'Rine, let's go," he ordered. The girl blinked and glanced at him, bristling slightly, before he added, "We've got a lead on the Wolverine."
That got her attention. She glanced at Shin as she got to her feet. "I'll tell you later," she said before darting off after Gabriel.

Demi flipped down from the branch above Shin, hanging by her knees, upside-down. She kept one hand on her leg to keep her skirt from flipping up, the other holding onto the branch.

Nii sighed glanced at Phoenix, who had already fallen asleep. The neko was wearing baggy clothes, making her look like a guy.

Demi grinned smugly and flipped to sit in a crouch on the branch next to him. After a second she shifted to sit, dangling her feet in the air.

Demi swung her feet back and forth.
"Lady Dakota," she said softly, "According to the Legends, she was the first of the Shade." She side glanced at Shin. "They can walk in the voids of darkness that your soul travels through when you die, before you get to heaven and hell. The Legends say that the Shade can even pull your spirit back if it hasn't reached the end of the void yet."
