I absolutely loved Anastasia as a kid. My other favorites were Thumbelina, Cats Don't Dance, and We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story.
I remember watching an American Tale, but it was never one of my favorites. I haven't seen Balto in ages...I actually used to hate it because the mean dog used to scare me xD

silvermilesprower wow although most of my childhood is Disney i remember an american tail, the brave frog(i'll give a cookie to anyone who ever herd of that movie),sonic the hedgehog the movie, but cats don't dance was probably my favorite non-disney film Oh wow, I loved the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, still do. One of my faves however is Little Nemo in slumberland, it was a collaborative effort between japanese and american animators with even some of the big honchos from disney like Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, and with music by the legendary Sherman Brothers. That movie is animated so well, I love the blend of american and japanese styles, art is beautiful, and its true that the characters are a bit goofy, but man, I love this movie.

ahhh here i am with my opinion (sorrry im so late!)
I love Anastasia, its timeless (Tidbit: the singing voice for Anastasia is also Kiara and the swan princess girl and Jasmine in one of the Aladdin movies)
american tail is another favorite of mine, not the first one really but the second one, fieval goes west. theres also a third one but its so bad i cant make myself remember it.
Hmm Balto. i cant remember the first one. i always liked the second one with the cool mouse song. ahh memories
Land before time - I like the first one alot but i havent seen any of the 14 or so others in ages or ever....

I feel I should refrain from posting in this forum, because I have a LOT of negetive things to say about some of these movies... I would rather not make anybody upset, so I'm just gonna keep my opinions to myself. 3nodding

XD Its not to say that these movies are not horrible or bad or anything, but often that gets overlooked for nostalgia reasons.

LOL that's how many movies operate- I haven't seen these movies in so long that my opinions might change if I saw them again. I can only go by what once was~ But still, even if the movies suck, a part of me will always remember them fondly 3nodding

Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite Ghibli film ever, though I've never seen Castle in the Sky, or Nausicaa, which I always hear is amazing. I get to be there when we have this little Anastasia get-together! By the way, I was watching Titan AE yesterday, and it reminded me of something from when we watched Treasure Planet. Sara, do you remember ♪SPACEBIRDS!♪? rofl

Laputa: Castle in the Sky is the only Studio Ghibli film I own unfortunately. I've also seen Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, and Spirited Away (was this the one that recieved an Oscar for best animated?) even though I'm not the hugest fan of the songs, I still love Anastasia! I hope it's not too weird to say that I think Dimitri is hot... xd rolleyes

Whoo! We should ask Addie before we make any plans, though. rofl

how is he hotter? he's young and he has that weird tiny ponytail in the back of his head. Dimitri is a MAN. what would be the best animated then? I just looked at the winner and nominees of the 2010 Oscars, I'm glad UP won! what's even better is that I've seen all of the nominees! (except for Secret of Kells, which I want to see! I didn't even know that it was playing until my mom told me about it.)
