Red fell fast asleep on the comforter as his owner went to work finding her guest raw meat.
"Now where was that venison," she muttered loudly in the crowded and disorganized pantry. "I must get this place sorted out, AW there it is!" Trix finally got to the freezer and took out the deer meat. "About as raw as you can get."
Getting out the pantry she go to the kitchen and bellowed out the pick up window. "Deer good for ya?"

Sado was not happy about the mission he was given by the Vampire Order. They decided to send and Elder out to do a job a peasant vampire could do. That's all these creatures deserved in his opinion. He could hardly believe it when the chairman of the Order appointed him for the task; oh how he hated him for it, but there Sado was on the wet street on this dreary day. It was raining. All he needed was for the elves to sign the treaty in his left pocket, and he could return home. A goal he hoped would be an easy task. Sado walked down the long wet road into he reached a new pub that had just opened. Figuring their would be plenty of opportunity to perhaps find someone of high importance in the Dark Elf Kingdom in this new pup, he decided to pay it a visit.
Sado walked in the front door of the pub and hung his large black trench coat on the coat rack.
"Can anyone here assist me?" Sado said, in his ussual cold deep voice.

Trix can out with the tray with two platters of ram slowly defrosting cuts of deer meat. She seemed to float over to Twi's table laying the large plate on the table and the smaller plate in front of the cat. Turning back with a jolly smile she answered the man in the doorway.
"If if its food warmth and a room then you are in luck." Trix moved back to the bar counter and waited for the man to answer.

"thank you very much!" Val said in a breathy voice, betraying his hatred of the cold. he rubbed his hands, vainly hoping to warm them up a bit, and lifted the dear meat to eat, ripping at it with a slight growl, eating it like an animal, but from above his mouth so any blood dripping would fall into his mouth.
he looked up to the new arrival, human-looking person, pale and suspicious-looking. Val blinked twice, and returned to his food, keeping an eye on the man.
Shadow let out a low throaty rumble, not quite a purr, not a growl by any means either, and kept an eye on the man as well. when he didn't seem to move, she returned her attention to the plate of meat, sniffed it, licked it, and dug in fairly loudly.

{{Pen, need an executive decision from ya: Are we modern enough to have things like cell-phones, tv's, etc.? We had them in the old rp, but it hasn't been specified yet in this one.}}

(You know, call me old fashion, but I'm going to vote No; just the setting that Pen gave does not paint a modern picture in my head. It kinda of gave me the feel of a much older time. It's majority vote though, but my vote is no!)
Sado thought about the invitation and figured he was not going anywhere else tonight.
"I already ate before coming here, but a place to rest my head would be nice." Sado said in his cold expressionless voice.
"Could you set me up a room at the lowest level of your establishment. I prefer to sleep in low places."
Sado caught a glimpse of the elf eating the venison and utter disgust came across him. He much hated watching other eat food. The act that had been lost in him for a long time now had appeared to be almost savage to him now.
"I wouldn't suppose, you have any visitors here that are of the royal blood line?" He asked the owner, hoping he could get straight to the business at hand.

((Well I do like pre-modernization I can't see a problem an city lost in time with modern influences. I want the old England feel with cobble stone roads and rustic building surrounding narrow alleys but you can still hear a cell phone going off and see people bopping to their mp3 players. New meets old.))
"Sorry sir all my rooms are on the upper floors. We still have a few rooms on the second floor." Trixie moved back to behind the bar. Fishing once again for the sign in book. The large book came back out and fell with a thud on the bar counter.
"See which one you like."

"Thank you, I'm sure that well be suitable" Sado let the Panda take his belongings to the 2nd floor, not caring which room he put it in. He had more important things on his mind. Sado noticed his second question was being ignored. He was to old to accept this blatant rudeness. He decided to be more blunt.
"I'm here on strict business, and must know if you have anyone of the royal elf blood line that visits this bar that I might be able to talk too. You see this is of grave importance between our two people." Sado voice was know as deep and cold as ever with a small hint of annoyance.
Sado begin to think that maybe this had been a wasted visit, but the pub looked like a place where royalty would go.

Red heard the bags fall down on the floor below and knew who whould be in charge of that. He shook his head and nuzzled down on Liz's bed planing to move when he heard a command.
"Well you are about a year late to meet a royal and two years late to actually get anywhere." Trixie said with a serious hint in her voice. She grabbed some of the dusty glasses and began to wipe them down with a clean rag. Her eyes stayed on the visitor in an almost glare.
"You see we threw that rotten rich boy over. We are a republic for elves of all kinds. We don't need a family tree to make us suitable to run ourselves." Her jolly tone competing with a serious anger. "Now what is this grave importance that you had?"

(i'm voting for yes, just cause i don't mind either way. =w= )
catching the sneer that the other man gave him made Val huff to himself, and continue eating. the way he figured, he spent enough time in the wilderness to get away with eating so sloppy. he didn't realize that that's not the reason the stranger looked so repulsed.
questions about royalty were spoken, which made Val grin and chuckle, his fangs flashing slightly. luckily, being covered in blood, and distorted by flickering firelight, they probably wern't too visible. of course, he was eating rather sloppily... still, he didn't think they'd be noticed. especially with the stranger's atention being on Trixie.
he returned to his food, ripping at it hungrilly and slurping the wet meat loudly. he wasn't even above licking the plate clean. ater letting out a small belch, he wiped his hands on Shadow's fur, much to her indination, and his hands on his coat.
"i'm going to bed now Trix." he said cheerfully, and headed upstairs. his large cat stayed wheresh was and finished her food, before curling up right in front of her plate.

"A Republic!?" it seems my sources are a bit out dated
"Are you a member of the Republic government?" Sado said, with seriousness in his voice.
"I wish only to discuss my business with an official" Sado looked deep into the Trixies eyes trying to manipulate her mind into answering his request.
"Who are the leaders of this Republic, where might I find them?" Sado said in a voice only low enough for Trixie to hear.

{{I like the idea of that old England feel, but with the ability to still use small things like phones. And it will come in handy for my next few posts. Thanks Pen.}}
Setting the last shirt in her middle drawer, Lizzie straightened and looked out the window with a small frown. The rain was steadily coming down by now, partially obscuring the view of the buildings across the narrow street. She could hear it faintly drumming against the roof above her, as well as the sound of the drops striking against the window in front of her.
Lizzie wrinkled her nose, hoping that it would let up soon. She wanted to head out after lunch to take care of a few things. She turned around to see Red snuggling into her covers, and a smile graced her face, smoothing away her disgust at the cold, wet weather outside.
"I hate to disturb you Red, but I'm going to head downstairs to grab a bite to eat. I don't want to lock you in here, so you better come with." Trixie had talked to the panda like it was intelligent, so Lizzie figured that doing the same couldn't hurt. Stepping forward, she scooped the warm animal up in her arms, setting him gently down on the hallway floor once she was outside of her room. Lizzie then twisted to grab the door handle and firmly close the door behind her.
Heading down the hall she passed the elven man from earlier, and gave him a friendly nod and smile. She didn't pause to talk, her stomach growling and informing her that the bread from earlier had not been enough to satiate her.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Lizzie paused at the undercurrent of tension in the room. Gazing uncertainly from Trixie to -to Lizzie surprise- a vampire, she kept silent. He leaned closer to murmur something to Trixie, and Lizzie chewed on her lip for a second before shrugging and just walking to the bar, deciding not to poke where she didn't belong.

"As matter of a fact, The leaders of the republic aren't publically known. You'll need to know where those shadows leaders meet and when. Then your going to then get an audience with there leader." Trixie had enough of this conversation and went to the kitchen to start lunch.
"Good luck, sir. they don't just let anyone in to one of their meetings." She bellowed from the kitchen. Red came trotting down as well and made his way to the bar counter to curl up again.

Sado let out a half moan, half growl upon hearing this news. He really despised this mission, but what he despised more was having to comunicate more with these disgusting creatures.
Sado decided to retire to his bed room, he found the room on the 2nd floor that the panda had put his things in.
As he flopped on the bed, he couldn't help; but wonder why the leaders of the Republic would keep themselves hidden, when the The Vampire Elders were well known by every vampire in existence; plus everyone knew where to find them.
"What a coward race" Sado said to himself, as he laid his head on the pillow. Soon he fell into a deep slumber.

Watching the vampire storm up the stairs with raised brows, Lizzie could only shake her head at how easily worked up vampires could get. She turned to lean her elbows on the counter of the bar, mulling over Trixie's parting statement. Even as a fairly high-level officer who fought for the Revolutionaries, Lizze had to admit she had only met one of the leaders of the new Republic.
Of course, General Kira didn't really count seeing as Lizzie had trained with her for over a decade before the war really began, but still. Looking at the small window that showed Trixie bustling about the kitchen, Lizzie admitted to herself that even the General had become scarce since victory was declared. It was partly why she had decided to get out of the military. That and having your ex-fiance and royalty loyalist share your rooms with you wasn't exactly comfortable. A rare scowl settled on Lizzie's face at the thought of Jonathan, and she quickly tried to dismiss thoughts of him by concentrating on her original purpose in coming downstairs.
"Hey Trixie, think I could have an early lunch? That bread was good, but not filling in the long run." Leaning forward, she called this out with a grin forced on her face.
