Louis-Auguste Robespierre The biggest threat to the working class are the Democrats who can get awya with a lot more than the Republicans purely because they posture are 'friends of labor' or 'anti-racist' or whatever. This is a really interesting point (at least to me). I completely agree with this. If we have people posing as people who are "Friends of labour" but are really enforcing the form of government that demeans the working class, nothing can get accomplished.

I think it's purely because over the past few decades [mostly] that the captalists, have put out all kinds of propaganda about the socialist/communist parties that most people are actualy ignorant what they even mean to accomplish or goals. Just because their parents, and their parents' parents, and so on, told them that it was 'bad' because a single generation was brain washed a long time ago.
Well... um.. not even sure if i'm describing what i'm trying say properly... sweatdrop

I still heard it in college. "They tried to destroy the family!" they'd say. (which we did but besides the point) To the average philistine it would sound like a horrible doing.

Aye, I have an alright civics/history teacher where i go though, encourages debate, and says he'd rather be a communist than a facist, so i might be able to enlighten a few at my school within the next year.

It wasn't because one generation was 'brain washed'. It is because of the constant effort made to demonise socialism. It is because of the misleadership of the Trade Unions, selling out every major struggle, and fighting against strikes whenever the possibility is raised. It is because of the treachery of the 'leftists': The CPUSA, the SWP, the ISO, the RCP, all of them are pro-capitalist in fact, sucking up to the democrats, and appealing to liberals, and not fighting for socialist revolution. It is because of the disorientation caused by the betrayals, and the collapse of Stalinism in Eastern Europe.
We are currently in a really backward period, the most backward yet seen. The working class no longer identifies its struggle with the eventual rise of socialism (either through reform or revolution), the bourgeoisie is able to trample the workers and oppressed both in the first world and in the neo-colonies with little thought to defeat, and even less thought to the militancy of the workers. We live in a world where a quarter of a million people can come out on the streets of sydney, that is 10% of the population, in opposition to a war, and the government doesn't think twice about ignoring them, and the 'leadership' of the protests isn't willing to even point out that the problem is capitalism, and is unable to call for anything more than another protest.
In short, we live in the world where the Soviet Union, the first successful proletarian revolution, has been smashed, and the next strongest worker's state, the People's Republic of China is widely perceived as being 'more capitalist than the US.'
We have a lot of s**t to deal with, and we need to deal with it as soon as possible. You cannot be Dermy or Kagerou, and claim that sucking up to the Democrats is 'the least worst choice,' or be like 'Comrade' Mann who claims to be a 'pragmatic' communist, completely dispensing with dialectics! There is only one path through this ******** period, through the marsh, and if we are not to disperse, and retreat into the marsh, into bourgeois parliamentarism, then we need to follow the lessons of Lenin and the Bolshevik Party.
