Zeke gave her a soft smile. "It's very nice to meet you, Kara. " He tilted his head. "I. . knew a preshion once. " He ggot to his feet, and gave Kale a soft smile. But his eyes spoke of sadness- the same sadness Kale would no doubt feel if Kara vanished and he had no way to find or help her. "Want me to show you where the house is now?"

Kale nodded to Zeke as he heard him and gently he guided Kara in front of him, so she was in between him and Zeke, safe where he could protect her faster if he needed to. He had caught that flicker of sadness within Zeke's eyes and his mirrored the emotion, but his reasoning was different than Zeke's, he had deeply loved Nieve, even though they had known one another for very long, but he had loved her and knew, after the hundreds of years he'd been around tha the wasn't gonna find someone else who could effect him like she did.

Zke nodded briskly back to Kale, and turned to walk away. Zeke alawys wore deep black, so no one- if they had known him or not- could tell he was in deep mourning. BEcause if Nieve wasn't dead, then she wasn't safe. And if she was dead then . .. well, either way he mourned. His trench coat ended at his anckles, but he didn't mind. Glancing both ways before crossing the road, he lead them down several streets, finally coming across an apratment building. Then they climbed up a flight of stairs, and Zeke opened the door. "Like I said, there isn't a spare room, but it's a roof. " Zeke walked in, and sat down on a stool.

"Better than nothing." Kale said and ushered Kara in gently and then proceeded into the apartment behind her. He smiled as he looked around the apartment, or what he could see of it at least. He looked over his shoulder to Zeke and gave him a comforting smile.

Zeke didn't see the smle, but had he, he probably would have been grateful. He glanced over at the fridge, where animal blood was stored, but glanced awy shortly after. Because half-human himself, he couldn't bring himself to drink human blood. Glancing down at the little girl, he remembered. . . remembered so acheingly how he' met Nieve. Pushing those thoughts from his mind, he glance dup at Kale. "I've got some food if you guys want it. And some animal blood if you need it. " His eyes said something to Kale- I don't know what kind of blood you use, but I only drink animal.

Kale gazed back at Zeke and nodded, "Good... it's the only blood we'll drink." He said and gently slipped his black boots off by the door and looked to Kara. Kara gazed around the apratment, she was taking in everything that was tere in the room that she could see and she looked at the fridge when Zeke did, she could smell what was in there, but she wasn't hungry yet. She watched Kale and she, too, took off her boots and sat them beside Kale's.

Zeke belatedly took off his own boots, setting them on the ground whereever. He glanced over at them, and couldn't help but give a slight smile. He respected them a good deal more now. He brushed some of his hair out of his face, and tilted his head at the little girl. Then at Kale. He. . .wasn't sure what to say now.

Kara studdied Zeke as he moved with her deep, enchanting eyes. "How do you know my daddy?" She asked, wanting the truth. Kale gazed at Kara, hearing her question and he looked at Zeke, unsure if he was really gonna be able to tell Kara the truth or not and keep himself in one piece.

Zeke shook for a minute, and then he sat down on the ground- to be level with her. He remembered ebigns mall,a nd wishing people would be on his level. "The preshion I knew. . .I raised her much like Kale is rasing you. " He took a shaky breath. "Years later, she saved your daddy, and took him back to her home to nurse him to heath. I visited her when he was there. " He hesitated, then kept talking. "Her name was Nieve. Kale had to leave for whatever reason,and when I came back, Nieve had vanished and her home was ashes. " Zeke was shaking. . .but he'd long since learned self-control.

Kara gazed into Zeke's eyes and she put one of her small hands onto his cheek to still his trembling, "I'm sure she'll return safely..." She said with a lot more wisdom then she realized she had. Kale sat down besides where Kara was and he leaned back against the couch calmly as he sat a foot on the ground, so one leg was propped up, the other stretched out before him and he gazed at the opposing wall as he thought of Nieve.

Zeke smiled at her, plainly amazed. "Sometimes I'm not so sure. But that's the difference between adults and kids, isn't it? One keeps hope. " He brushed her hair back from her face. "Nieve is trying, I know that. " He glanced at Kale, and couldn't help but say, "Just like I'm sure you'd try to get back to Kale, huh?"

Kara and smiled softly, nodding to him as she gave a soft giggle to his hand brushing her hair back, "Yep." She said confidently. Kale was listening to Kara and Zeke's conversation, but at the sametime his mind was running wild with thoughts. If it was true what Zeke had been saying, the Neive was trapped somewhere and wasn't able to get free, but he had to be sure.

Zeke glanced up at Kale, telling easily enough that his mind wasn't with them. "Beyond that, I'ms ure Nieve wants to get back to your daddy to. They were good friends, I think. " Even Zeke had to admit he wanted to poke fun at Kale- and saying that to Kara seemd like it might do the trick.

Kara smiled softly and giggled as she heard Zeke. She looked to Kale to see his reaction. Kale was brought back into the conversation and he looked at Zeke with a 'don't go there' look and chuckled, "Something like that..." He teased back. Kara couldn't help but giggle as she listened to Kale and looked back to Zeke.

Zeke almost laughed at Kales 'don't go there' look. He gave a soft chuckle, and shrugged. Then Zeke glanced back dwn at Kara. "Nieve is a sweet girl, always helping others. " He tilted his head. "She never knew any of her family, so she'd probably love to meet you, little Kara. Knowing Nieve, she'd declare you as her kin, for having preshion blood. "
