Kai couldn't help it, she started to laugh profusely at the two of them. Oh they were a good team, though Ace had shown up just in time to stop Kai from getting a look at the goods, but that wasn't something she was going to hold against the girl. "Another time then captain?" She teased playfully.

"Okay sounds good." Kai complied turning around and bending at the knee slightly. Her hair was already up it's normal style and only a few strands fell low enough to brush the bottom of her neck. "It's a bit like a puzzle isn't it?" It was getting there, to the point where her nerves were creeping back like fog on a dewy morning.

But this was just a step closer to her dream tattoo, and therefore it was an acceptable if not terrifying step.

Kai gave a sly wink to Nate as she waited for Ace to apply all the stencils. It really wasn't until that moment that she realized exactly how big this ******** thing was going to be... and it was all going to be on her back, and raw, and painful. How would she sleep? Guess there'd be a few nights laying on her stomach. Inwardly, she cringed at the idea. What one earth was possessing her to do this...

Glancing the way Ace was pointing, she she straighted out and walked toward the mirrors. It was sad, but she was almost afraid to turn and look. But dammit, she'd do what she was here to do. Slowly, almost cautiously, she turned to face her back toward the mirrors.

It. Was. PERFECT. The way the words were positioned and scripted. The uniforms torn, the puppeteers strings hanging down. It embodied all she'd wanted and could have ever imagined.

Seeing exactly how it could transition from sketch to skin made Kai grin with girlish delight. Failing to hold back the stream of giggles of glee she turned to smile at both Nate and Ace. "******** A-class amazing! I've never wanted something more. I'm without words to describe how much in love I am with it."

Taking a few deep breaths, Kaithala turned around and pulled herself away from the mirrors. Was she ready? Probably not... but it was past the point of no return for her. She glanced over at Ace and drew positive energy from the bouncing woman. It wasn't as if this was going to kill her... well hopefully not.

"I think I'm as ready as I'll ever be." She said a little quietly. Shaking her head to try and rid herself of nerves she looked back directly at Nathan. "Be gentle, it's my first time."

Yup, trust a sex joke to lighten the mood. Instantly she felt marginally better about the whole thing.

Well, some things were just worth noting, Nate's washboard abs as Ace so sweetly put it were one of those things. If a girl couldn't appreciate something as fine as those, well there was something wrong with her for sure. But still, even more impressive than his gorgeous abs was the tattoo he had displayed upon his back. It was beautiful really, there was just something about it that made her attracted to it. Couldn't have been the subject material as Kaithala had no ******** clue as to who the two characters could have been, but still, it was amazing. "Well, I'm a little afraid to ask this, but did you want to kill yourself while it was being done? You know to escape the pain?"

As she was guided to the room, her heart rate accelerated. Nerves? What nerves? Insert hesitant laugh here. It was a bit like going to the doctor almost... you knew that they knew what they were doing but that still left you in the dark. All the instruments seemed to be clean and they were using new materials. Not that she'd really doubted they would, but seeing it all just confirmed that it was all real, and yeah this was really about to happen.

Taking a deep breath in through her nose, Kai purposefully squared her shoulders. "Okay, let's do this."

Well at least he was honest... Kai quirked her brows until Ace came rushing in with god's gift to everyone. Drugs. "You're wonderful," she said off handedly to Ace while she opened up the bottle and took two of the beautiful little tablets out. Downing them like a pro she felt a little better.

A little changed to a lot when she turned on the stereo. Nothing like some hot thrashy metal to make the soul still. If push came to shove she could just wail along with the band, that usually made her feel better, although Nate would probably end up worse for ware about it. She smiled over at Nate, "Well if you insist?" She grinned cat like and made an exaggerated move of sitting on the chair.

"Honestly, I don't know how this is supposed to work, but for me, if we could get it all done in one go? That'd be great. If we take a break it'll just bring the nerves back. So... just ignore me if I start crying okay?" She had to laugh as she turned her head to glance back at him. "Will the top be in the way?" So many sexual innuendos sat on the tip of her tongue but she forced herself to resist. It was a hard and desperate struggle.

"Hmm knew this was all just a clever excuse to get my clothes off..." Kai grinned with good humor. It really was lucky that Nate seemed to understand that she used sex as a buffer for fear. She reached up behind her neck and released the clasp that held the piece whole. Holding the front up with her hand she leaned against the chair so it would do that for her. No reason to show all the goods off. Probably should have worn pasties... but it was too late to think of such things.

"Alright well, they're old jeans so I'm not too worried about them, but if you want, give me a towel and I'll tuck it into the back of them." Kai smiled again. "If I ask for a break, ignore me. Seriously, I want to get this done without any. Soldier through the pain and all, and because like I said, if we stop I may be afraid to start up again. So if you can do it, I can do it too." And that was the mantra she'd repeat to herself over and over. With any luck at all it would work...

Like any trip to the dentist's office the buzzing of the gun had Kai cringing to herself. It wouldn't be that bad... no of course not... right... right?

She closed her eyes and steadied herself for the first shock of it...

Well it wasn't a bag of rainbows that's for sure. What did it feel like? Like a ******** needle poking her several hundred times a minute. But... it really wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. Just slightly more than mild discomfort really, of course they weren't at her spine, which as she'd been told was the most painful place on the back.

"Okay, alright, this is doable." She said more to herself than him. "So, you do many pieces this large?"

"Oh I can hack it Captain." This seemed to be her new nickname for Nate. "Just try and keep up that stamina yeah?" And again with the sex jokes. The award for most inappropriate client goes to... her of course! "Full body tatts are crazy, I dunno, I think that'd be a little much personally. But I guess some people just don't like their skin color?"

The gun continued to draw on her back, the discomfort was still there but now at least she could let out part of her breath. It was started, first hurdle, check. And hopefully over time she'd just get used to the continual pricking of the needle, although that wasn't exactly something her body was trained for. The music helped a lot and hopefully soon so would the Advil. "Do you ever have to do tattoos you hate?"
