Herobane Louis-Auguste Robespierre It isn't just up to the regs to keep the guild going. We need new people as well. I totally agree. However, I don't think there are that many Communists to find. I think that the guild would benefit from focusing mainly on Communism and being composed of Communists, and I'd like as few "outsiders" as possible, but there aren't many Reds left to find I think. I'm not sure whether to let other people in or not. I'm on the fence about that one, so if you want to you can try to convince me in favour of it or not. While I agree about having this guild as a predominately Communist guild, in order to recruit more members we have to be more open (like trying to revive the NCS Community guild as said above). Hopefully by having a more open guild for people with similar leftist ideas to come to befriend one another and learn more, this guild could see a rise in new Communist/Socialist members who are up for a more in depth discussion here. It's all about educating the masses. wink

I see him as being one of the few who are trying to fix problems, and the the people responsible are people who never post, and people who just post nonsense and don't take the guild seriously. That is something to take up with the Leadership who don't see NCS as an actual party organ, which it's not. Gallenger, Tank and myself have discussed this with each other numerous times. This is not a party and efforts to make it so are fruitless. Why do you think in my tenure as Guild Captain I let in Fascists? Why do you think we had Libertarians in here that were never banned no matter how badly they trolled? To me this guild was intended as being the lounge of the Gaian Communists and as well something for the education, theory, and discussion of Marxism, Left ideals and anything else like that. Things like that don't require extreme discipline and purity.

The best that can be hoped for is that the members of the guild join the same organisation IRL, and accept its discipline on their own. That fascists were allowed in shows not an anscence of NCS discipline. Such an idea is laughable. What it shows is a personal ideological lack on the part of said leadership: Social-deomcratic to the core. But as far as the question of discipline, the 'mission' of the guild, and the position of fascists within it goes... Well, my draft constitution gives my position.

They've defined their views already and we've met it. Gracchvs'? Gracchvs would see half the guild banned for one reason or another. He would see actual people of benefit in this guild gone because essentially they rub him the wrong way And your ideas of purity and discipline? Well those remain to be seen and judged don't they? But I don't think we'll remodel this place on them just yet. Look at it this way. Banning someone at best what happens? Someone not entirely compliant with a few views (the Fascists stopped posting here long ago as did our one Libertarian troll). At worst we lose an outlet of discussion, activity, thought and information. The latter seems worse than the former. Perhaps Gracchvs may seem like he has grand and great ideas but I see that he wants to turn NCS into something similar to the now defunct GCP and whatever the hell the name of the GCP's successor was. This is not a party. There is no need for tedious efforts and discipline and purity. Purity and Discipline may work in whatever idealized NCS you've imagined but other guilds have tried similar policies and I've seen them go belly-up. I don't scorn those ideas. If this were a party I'd be all for it. There would be necessary actions, rules and other such similar things. If this were a place that was being plagued by Fascist and Libertarian trolls or under that while other members did nothing then maybe we would need more hard measures. If this guild had more members instead the core 7 members I might even at least consider it. Right now though taking the guild seriously is fruitless. I ambitiously tried a lot in my tenure that came to nothing. And though I would like to take another crack at motivating people and getting more unity I've learned it's not going to get terribly far trying to take a guild on an cute anime based website seriously. In all my time as mod, I only banned one person, and that is because he had a racist username... Notice that the only 'ideological purity' I want in the guild is for NCSers to be in it. This in no way equals me or my ideology being dominant. On the contrary, I expect that there are way more 'socialists' than there are commies. What I do know is that I do not intend to turn this guild into some kind of party. If I did, one would expect there to be some talk about democratic centralism in my proposed constitution, but I don't, so there isn't. In fact, what you will find with the proposed constitution of mine is that it is pretty much how we opperate anyway, except there it is codified with a few extra items. You will also notice if you bother to read the thread that I actually said to Gallenger when he voiced his criticisms that I am fully open to the old constitution being brought back. unfortunately Tank deleted that thread. Right now if you, myself and Tank were to act together, intervening in threads and s**t like you used to do... If I could prod Kotka to do the same, and other members were active in EDP and ED in communist threads, well... Then we would get tonnes of recruits, like you used to, except for all of us.
