I should probably mention that I'm from the hometown of Todd McFarlane, and the province where Wolverine is said to come from. Interperet that as you will.

Canada then? As long as it's not the Yukon. Ugh, Yukon.

*Hides from all the letters that appear to be being waved around*

Thanks again for all your input, it's given me a lot to think about. I will keep you posted if I have any other bright ideas on the topic but at the moment it's all a nice big confused mess of random data and opinions wink

I couldn't help but be drawn to the comment about Batman being an urban legend and that was what made him so cool. One of the main attracting points of Bats and Supes are the dark and light respectively. Batman has always been about shadows and working alone and Superman while capable of working alone quite happily is light and a true leader/inspiration. Maybe preferance has something to do with whether the reader believes that taking things into your own hands and not wanting to take the credit or that doing your best and being seen so others can follow suit is the correct course of action to deal with a problem.. and again maybe the preferance between these problem solving techniques is slightly cultural.

*Laughs* I know that one well, of course I'd never publicly admit to it all being petty!

well im kinda the opposite of static shock over there... i prefer the more inpirational leader types - the ones everyone else on the team can look to in times of crisis, the ones who cant seem to do anything wrong. they give everyone else, hero or otherwise, someone to emulate.. a standard to try n live up to. in the dcu, nobody fills this role more than superman.

this of course, isnt to say that batman doesnt do all that in his own arena.. its that supes does this on a more global scale surprised also, the thing that made bats exceptionally cool to me was that he was an urban legend - his own city wasnt sure if he even existed... thats not the deal now after what they made happen in war games sweatdrop

also, at the end of a hard day of superheroing... who still smells pine-fresh? superman, thats who.

on another note, virgil, how can u not like optimus prime?? he's who all the dudes wanted to be like & all the ladies (arcee) wanted to be with. u saw what he did to megatron... if it werent for that punkass hotrod, he'd b alive n kickin rite now.

crying

Hmm... I think I should have used "don't prefer" instead of "don't like." I certainly don't dislike Optimus Prime, he just wasn't my favorite. His awesomeness is indisputable, but I'm a Jazz man. domokun
