Regarding the tax thing. I'm not sure I support it. neutral
Since you can't post unless you're a member of the guild and some would rather not go that extra way, they can just simply PM the artist for a commission. lol

They could. But we're not taxing the people--we're taxing the artists. It's just a trust thing. We tell the artists that any gold they give us won't be taken and used for personal purposes, but to fund guild events. (And it's not like we're not going to put in gold for that XD)

Er...wait, what? I'm a little confused now.
Yeah, we shouldn't call it a tax--everyone hates taxes XD
When artists join up we'll let them know that we would LIKE a 2% (?) donation of their commissions every month or so to help bring in customers and hold events.
And of course, only commissions from inside the guild. We'd know where the customer ordered because we'd see their post in the artist's 'shop' thread in the guild (:
The benefit they get for donating...is a thriving, happy guild with happy customers who buy art. : P
And artists can participate in contests too, right?
Yeah, it's liney--but because it's got sketh marks it was only 10k x3 Hee. The artist will make neat ones, but they're 20k, and the lines didn't bother me n.n

Yeah, pricing is the hardest bit :l
I don't really want to tax them, but because they are benefitting from the guild (or they will, because there are always customers n.n) and the crew does a lot of the organizing for them, it makes sense for them to give a little back, right?
I will probably say that the suggested donation is 5% of their monthly earnings but it's not required. I think most artists will be fine with that, if it brings a sort of community feel to the guild (:

Alrighty, so I'm in Santa Barbara, California right now (which is not where I live normally) attending a music camp so my time is going to be all tied up. I will probably log in once a day and post some stuff but nothing more, really XD
I will return on the 8th of August, but late at night. I'm hoping that before then we can name the guild and all the subforums.
I found one artist willing to be part of this guild. I will also be an artist, but not a very active one : P Once we get the name down, banner-making can commence. n.n

How about we call it the 'funds jar'.
You know, kinda like a 'money jar',
instead of tax. 2% or whatever off each
commish into the jar and at the end of
the month, the money in the jar is used
as prize money for a contest.
Of course, the more money saved up,
the bigger the prize.
Plus, there could be like a little 'funds jar' image
on the front page, just to show people the
amount of money up for grabs, and it'll
assure them we're being honest with it.
Sorry I've been away for a while.
I've been hammered with test after test at school,
and whenever I do have free time, my computer
decides he doesn't like me. T^T
