well since i've played them all i'd say the best FF games are

any game higher than FF II
except FF VI
and XI is online!

Final Fantasy 9.

-I love the storybook style they used for this game.
-For once, there wasn't a single character I hated in that game. Final fantasy kind of has a reputation of making boreing, whiny characters, but there were none in this game!
-I really loved the story.
-I think Trance was an awesome part of the game.
