Mitsuki Kuromori was standing in the corner of the assembly area, watching the ceiling without interest. One hand was holding her other arm, it had been hurting a lot lately for no reason. Maybe she had been working too hard. Oh well, Mitsuki would continue to work anyway. Her eyes drfited toward Alexander and Sami, who was making her way out of the area. The darkness of that particular corner made her appearance a little creepy, but Mitsuki didn't mind it at all. When she wasn't doing anything, Mitsuki would just be there. She'd be anywhere, but among a crowd she was just there.

---

Star Akira walked down a hall, hands place upon both sheaths of her katana and wakizashi. There was no particular reason to it, she just always had her hands on them when she was bored. It had been a while since her parents had died, but she didn't dwell on such a memory. In fact, half the time she didn't even remember she had parents, or had had parents that even died. That just made things more peaceful, to just forget about them. Dwelling on the past did nothing. It would not bring them back. The world was so cruel...

“Mind if I tag along?” Alexander followed her to the training grounds. The Shendai Lord wasn’t in the court, so I seemed he may have already gone to the training grounds.
Hopefully, he doesn’t give me a preach about getting up more early… Not that the Shendai Lord had given Alexander a preach before.

Walking down past the court, Vincent heard Alexander and Sami talking. It seemed they were heading towards the training grounds and that Alexander had overslept.
He didn’t knew Alexander, but every day it seemed he’d overslept.
It was only a matter of time before he’d get used to it, Vincent thought, like all recruits did.
Walking down the hall, Vincent knocked on the door that lead to the Shendai Lord’s chambers.
“Enter.” A voice on the other side replied.
The room hadn’t changed a thing, since Vincent first saw it, it never changed. Against every wall, a bookcase was cramped with books on all sorts of matters. An open fireplace was built in one wall, directly across the Shendai Lord’s desks. A few chairs were placed near the fireplace and at the desk. The Shendai Lord was reading in his large and comfortable chair behind his desk. When he looked up, he placed the book on his desk, next to some other books. Behind his chair was a large window with a balcony that overlooked the courtyard. When the Shendai Lord needed to address a large number of Knights, he’d stand on the balcony while the Knights gathered at the courtyard.
“It seems it will be a peaceful day, milord.” Vincent reported what the hawk told him. It would take a day to get from the foot of the mountain to the top. Anyone that would like to climb the mountain, would start at morning. At night it would be to dangerous to climb the mountain.
“Thank you, Vincent.” Shen stood up and walked towards Vincent, “Now if you could assist me in a small matter.” With a wave of his hand, he gestured Vincent to follow him outside.
“How can I assist?” Vincent asked, stepping outside.
“I first must attend to the recruits who are awaiting their training.” With Vincent walking at his side, the Shendai Lord walked towards the court.

Sami nodded, "Sure." She looked behind her and noted some of the other residents milling about. She turned her head back infront of her and continued to the training ground. "What are you going to work on this morning?" she asked.

“Magic.” Alexander replied shortly, “My father trained me in sword skill and learned me how to defend myself should I be unarmed. Since he didn’t use any Magic, he couldn’t teach me anything about it. That’s what I’ve been working on lately.”
He was excited about learning any new spell. Magic was a whole new door opened to him and he couldn’t wait to learn all kind of spells. Of course, he’d only learned the basic spells and he was working on his fire spells, “I already know how to create a fireball. Next, I’ll learn how to control it after I throw it at a target and redirect it.” Which could prove difficult since last his fireball exploded before hitting his target.
“What are you going to work on?”

"I don't know...I've been working on trying to get my fire to follow the path of my blades," Sami said with a smile. "Dad was a guard and Mom was a mage, so I did learn a bit from both before the attack. I could help with your skills, I work with fire as well."

Kade saw Vincent give him a wave. Excitedly he sat upright. But when Vincent had gone, he sighed again. Kade laid himself back down on the ground and stared back up at the clouds.

“I welcome any help.” Seeing as she practiced Magic longer then him, he could learn a thing or two. Both arrived at the training grounds. There were many plateaus to train in combat or to spar against someone.
On the lower level of the training ground was an survival area, varying from a forest, to desert, to even a snowy area. This area was enchanted and could constantly change. To get to the lower area you could take the stairs, that spiralled down, next to the plateaus.
This enchanted area had several levels, going down to the sea level.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this place.” Alexander said, overlooking the entire area.

As they entered the assembly area, the Shendai Lord stopped. Turning he faced a small corner in the darkness. With a small bow, he greeted Mitsuki who was standing there.
Vincent looked at the corner but didn’t see anyone.
“Good day, Kade.” The Shendai Lord greeted Kade with a small bow. It was his daily routine to greet every Knight and see if they needed anything.
“How are you?” He asked.

"It does take some getting use to..." Sami said with a grin. She found a good spot in one of the enchanted areas and headed towards the stairs. "Let's head towards the volcano area. We can work there and not be bothered."

((Lily's sitting right next to me, so I'm gonna post as her.))

Mitsuki simply bowed her head back to the Shendai Lord, and then to Vincent, whom she knew hadn't seen her in the dark. Even though the darkness was not her power, she enjoyed to stay among it.

---

Star walked into the assembly hall boredly, her arms now crossed. She was eager for some excitement later on in the day. She hadn't encountered any for a while now.

---

Kade jumped to his feet at the sight of the Shendai Lord. "Good day sir!" he greeted happily. "I'm great today! A little lonely, but seeing as the day's not exactly gone full swing, I know that will change." He beamed and bowed a small bow. His enthusiasm was amazing...

Following her down the stairs, Alexander hadn’t taken the opportunity to scout the enchanted areas. The different areas were all new to him.
“This is amazing!” He said wondering how they even created this place, “No wonder Shendai Knights function under any circumstances.”

The Shendai Lord smiled behind his helmet. It was glad to see an enthusiastic spirit in the Order. He was glad Kade has that spirit that never seemed down.
Looking around at his three veteran Knights, he remembered the day this area was filled with Knights eager to go on a mission to help out. Seeing Kade, he knew he shouldn’t dwell on the past.
“Knights, I have received a note from my old friend Araon.” He addressed the three veteran Knights. Hearing this last name, Vincent had heard it before.
“Master Araon?” He asked.
“Yes,” The Shendai Lord wasn’t surprised Vincent remembered him, “He was there when we stopped the Emperor.”
Vincent had seen the group that headed in the castle of Ankinia and knew who had survived the battle against the Emperor. The Shendai Lord was one of them and so was Master Araon amongst others. It wouldn’t surprise The Shendai Lord if anyone else knew Araon. Master Araon was famed for his many adventures and had become a legend in Licia.
“Araon wrote me there was some distress in Licia. The restoration of the Kingdoms is going slowly, while outlaws and creatures attack and hinder the whole process.”
Not that this was any new information. Licia was in chaos after the war.

Mitsuki, from the dark, spoke. "So... You want us to take care of it...?" She rubbed her arm again, a little glad that it was getting better if she was to go out and at least try to stop the disturbance. It was about time someone had, anyway.

Vincent was slightly spooked when Mitsuki spoke from her dark corner.
“Yes,” The Shendai Lord answered, “but not directly. The Order is also rebuilding and I cannot endanger the few Knights still alive. We will deal with the more pressing matters. Solve the problems that hinder the restoration, then deal with the chaos.” The Shendai Lord began walking around in the assembly area, “Once a Kingdom is restored, there will be harmony. However, for the Kingdoms to completely restore, a King must be chosen to lead the people. Since the Kings of Licia have died during the war, we first must find any survivor of the bloodline, if they are still alive.”
Vincent sighed, this seemed a handful. Restoring order is one thing, but finding lost heirs and bloodlines, that could get complicated.
“Since only you three have survived the Great War, I will send you back to Licia. This time to help restore it.” In a way, the Shendai Lord hoped it would help them overcome any bad memories during the assault on Ankinia. This reminded him, “Note that the people, well most people, have grown a fear for mages. They still remember Imperial Mages burning down their houses. The use of Magic should be used in dire situations.”
This day seemed to go downhill. First they are send back to Licia and now they can’t use Magic. Though, Vincent understood why and he’d know they get by without Magic.
“What about the recruits?” Vincent asked.
“The recruits?” The Shendai Lord was surprised Vincent mentioned them, “Do you imply to let them go with you?”
“That’s how we learned.” Vincent replied shortly. It was customary for Knights to take recruits. The recruits would first pass an initial training and a final test.
“Some of them lack in Magic and they still haven’t been tested.” The Shendai Lord said.
“You said we can’t use Magic. Restoring a Kingdom would be a good test.” Vincent gave the Shendai Lord little choice on the matter.
“Very well.” Looking at the other Knights, “If you agree, I suggest each keeps an eye out on a recruit.

Sami smiled, "Isn't it neat?" They had reached the area and she turned to Alexander. "Ok! Let's get started!" She started doing basic stretches to warm up and loosen her joints.

Kade clapped his hands excitedly. Finally, some sort of task! "That doesn't sound so bad!" he commented lightly with a grin. "I say we draw straws to see who gets which recruit!"

“Very well.” The Shendai Lord agreed. He held three straws each of a different length, “The longest straw is Sami, the shortest is Alexander and the straw of medium length will be Star.” Holding out the three straws, he looked at the Knights.
This is an original way of choosing a recruit. Vincent hoped he didn’t know any of the recruits that well, so in all, it didn’t really matter which straw, or recruit he’d get.
He’d wait and take the last straw.

Looking at the hot lava, Alexander hoped it wasn’t actually lethal.
“That’s not real, right?” He said, looking back at Sami, “It’s some kind of illusion spell and when I fall in, I don’t get burned?” This whole area was magical, so Alexander hoped that the lava also was magical.
