I can't write a good Double D Diary, so Bee, have at it... I tried my hand at some Film Reels however to add to the mix:
Film Reel: Training: It looks like a young woman entering into a caged door, helped by another woman. They exchange a greeting and the woman behind the caged door bows, and the door is shut. The woman goes farther inside and the other one leaves.
Film Reel: Leaving A young woman is seen tucking two young girls into their beds. That done, she kisses each on their forehead, picks up a small bundle of something near the door and exits the room.
Film Reel: Argument A large chested young girl is arguing with several older women. One of the women suddenly clasps a hand on her shoulder, and the arguing women lower their hands, and the young girl's face is partially seen, she's smiling.
Film Reel: Water A young woman jumps into a river. Screen goes blank a moment, and then there's a woman climbing out far down stream, she gets onto the bank and then stops moving, though it does look like she's still breathing.
Notes more: Each person - basic camera for friendly shots or not? They give points like a contest for a completed Ghost list?
If you do not write in your posts you're taking a picture of a particular ghost (and its entirely possible RP reasons causes you to miss it, however in a group someone else might catch it?) it is missed. Bold the pictures you take.
Ghost Group Battles - Feats of Willpower can be used to distract a ghost from a target, or pull it away, but it is up to the GM's whim which person gets attacked 'first'. Usually might end up being first into the room, or whoever approaches the ghost first.
About Ghosts: Friendly VS Unfriendly: You will NEVER encounter a friendly and unfriendly ghost in the same room at the same time. You might encounter a Friendly ghost shot and then it turns into an unfriendly ghost, or see a friendly shot, miss it or get it and are attacked by an unfriendly ghost, but never at the same time UNLESS it is a key ghost (one whose picture you need to open a door, get past something, find an item) that will REMAIN until its picture is taken, which can be after you are distracted.
There is an exception to this... is if you posses BLUE CANDLES that run out as you're trying to take a friendly shot and Reika shows up.
And sometimes there will be two unfriendly ghosts. To make it fair, it will be more during group encounters than solo encounters, less someone gets cocky and yeah... >> Though a solo person with the Camera obscura may/may not be expected to take on two ghosts at once.

Total Success Chance (TSC)This table shows the TSC of modified 1d20 rolls against various other rolls. TSC is generally calculated as follows: (Chance of individual 1d20 result) x (Chance of opposing results =< 1d20 result) = individual success chance TSC = Sum of individual success chances of each individual 1d20 result Modifiers are granted by ability scores. Mod v.2d10 v.3d10 +0 49.80% 24.935% +1 54.75% 29.105% +2 59.60% 33.485% +3 64.30% 38.015% +4 68.80% 42.635% <--This is the maximum +5 73.05% 47.285%
Camera Obscura: 1d20+1d10 v.2d10 v.3d10 73.86% 49.90% It should be noted that the Camera Obscura is an attack, not defense.

Okay... since I think it might help... well, it may/ may not who knows...it was just a thought.
What's Expected of the Players 1) ASK questions before making assumptions. If you want something clarified, ask. 2) Role play out your walk through of the mansion. The GM is there to guide you, but it is your choices that will affect what happens. (If the GM misses something, let them know) 3) Please, do your best to BOLD pictures you are taking. Especially in a longer post. We're human, we miss things. 4) Have fun. If something confuses you, or you're not enjoying yourself, we'll talk with you about it. This is meant to be a horror game, so if you don't like horror, a lot, please do not get yourself involved and then complain about it. 5) Split the party. It could be fun. 8D Of course, Seung-mun loves being wicked at times. >> But there are rewards for solo adventures.
What's Expected of the GM 1) We'll be making all the dice rolls. You don't need to know/worry about it. There has to be some trust between Player and GM to make things fun and balanced. 2) We will BOLD the friendly ghosts and unfriendly ghosts as best we can. 3) Describe in the best detail we can where you are, what's in your vision, what you can explore and see. We're setting the stage for you. 4) Answer your questions and make sure the game doesn't get out of hand. 5) Be fair - We will do our best not to discriminate. We want you all to be consumed by the tattoo equally. xd 6) Get EVERYONE involved. If you want to get involved, or want to do something but feel left out, talk to us. This is meant to be an event/game where all can have a roll. We will find something for you to do.
...Bee and Seung reserve the right to edit and add to this list as we feel the need to... sometimes you THINK these things wouldn't have to be said, but some people A) Like the reassurance. B) Are idiots. C) Might not be familiar with how Game masters work.

As in a different version of her? Or should it be another account?
And should we pick that from PW, or should we look at maybe involving an OC... >> I was thinking of doing something with Chris...

From Malicious Intent To Rock over Yahoo Messenger:Quote: So many things to say, however I will sum it up like this: you were told that you had carte blanche to this pretty little world as long as it did not dramatically effect the PW verse; meaning hey, its not the office, snap all the ghosts you want, but they don't haunt us, they don't attack us, they don't even visit as long as we are in the PW verse threads. This should still give us control in using NPCs and evidence in the environments that are part of the OVR! network proper.Seung says: This is now a moot point. Pfffft.

((Gotta keep this in mind)) "Stay here...forever." one of the priestesses say. its said once on each hallway. ^^
*FLASH*
A hallway, you stand at the end of a hallway, sheets hanging, blowing in a nonexistant wind. From behind the sheets walks a woman, covered in tattoos and wearing only a blue skirt. She walks past the sheets towards you, you feel yourself frozen in place, can't move. She is in front of you, raises her head, and her eyes, filled with tattoos, meet yours.
*FLASH*
(name), you are now lying on the ground, naked except for being covered by a white sheet, your head, feet and hands exposed. Four children surround you, two at your feet, two at your hands. You're paralyzed, stuck, squirming but the girls approach. Each one holds a hammer and a stake. All of them with a smile on their face. They kneel down, pushing a stake against your flesh.
Across your body a holly and snake tattoo creeps along your body, covering every inch of skin, down your arms, down your legs, up your body. The priestess children raise up their hammers, and just as you watch them lower them in a striking move, the tattoo covers your neck, your face, and reaches into your eyes.
In a pale sweat, you awaken from what seems like a dream.

First Reika 'touching'
You approach the woman in a pink shirt and short jeans, mumbling, "...died too. If only I had died too. ... Its not my fault I survived... I didn't survive because I wanted to." You feel the urge to kneel towards her, asking her what's wrong. She looks at you, screams and crawls away to sit against another wall.
Then you follow her, and watch as her eyes go wide. There's a moaning in the background, closer, closer. The woman you were trying to help screams and runs.
You turn around and back into the wall. Eyes glued at the blue figure slowly...slowly moving towards you. Her eyes are staring at you. You start to run, run and run, but its not fast enough.
Her hand is reaching, reaching out at your, and barely brushes your shoulder. You see flickers of her memories, and her voice, "Let me sleep...forever..."
You continue to run and burst out a door.
You wake from the manor in a cold sweat. Your shoulder starts to hurt as you sit up, yet nothing seems to be there... yet. A moment passes, and you see a holly and snake tattoo begin to appear.
The curse of the manor is upon you.

The Camera Obscura
Currently there are plans to include multiple Camera Obscura in the Manor of Sleep, possibly corresponding to the three Camera Obscura that were possessed by the original game characters. Whether there are only three, or one for every player character, is yet to be decided.
Would having many Camera Obscura make combat too easy? Ghosts could possibly be "stun-locked" by having several Camera Obscura focused on them at a time. Unlike the original games, where the player had only one Camera Obscura to work with, our players may have multiple.
How does a Camera Obscura work in combat? Does it do incremental damage? How should we determine these increments? Considering the limited numerical scope of the player character stat system, what should be expected for the ghosts? How can we feasibly predict and calculate the "health" of each ghost? What would determine the Camera Obscura's strength? Should we limit this strength by introducing the film items from the original game? Should we limit player usage of the Camera Obscura in combat with film?
Do we need to introduce something that will bring up so many questions and, even if we answer them, could potentially create issues later on?
...
Personally, I would rather keep things simple. The Camera Obscura is meant to be the "ultimate weapon" against the ghosts players encounter, permanently defeating them and also uncovering information and secrets. If we keep the number of Camera Obscura low, their usage becomes an event of great import, as usually the person holding the Camera Obscura will become a "hero" for the other characters in their party.
I also don't think there should be an additional chore in searching for different types of film. Unless there's a functional gameplay difference for them, there is little need to specialize them, even in terms of "damage" done to ghosts.
Instead of "hit points" for ghosts, perhaps encounters with important or powerful ghosts could more resemble skill tests, where the ghost in question is vulnerable only in special circumstances which a party of players would have to trigger. This way, we can adjust encounter difficulty on-the-fly, according to the party size and player performance. (In this case, the "success chance" for a hit with the Camera Obscura may as well be 100%)

Well, I think those that do have camera obscuras might not be allowed to party up... as in whoever is chosen for the main three storylines won't be allowed onto the same team.
I think everyone should have some kind of camera for the purpose of catching those photographs and shots of ghosts (the blue/red/friendly kind).
Since we're allowing willpower challenges to draw the ghosts away from a person,... hrm...
I think...I can calculate the health of the ghosts, at least in terms of how many shots/successful challenges it would take to defeat the ghost.
Of course, this is also the thing...if only the camera can defeat/capture the ghosts, single person exploration with someone who doesn't have a camera obscura becomes that much more deadly.
I know there is a type of film that makes Reika's final battle not as bad as it could be, perhaps some film could make certain boss ghost battles go better? It'd be like a reward for such exploration...
But the last statement about the skill tests could work.
Except for Reika. She's like the ultimate exception...well, the final bosses of each area kinda are each exceptions and should only be a one v one battle. Especially Reika's battle, as well, you REALLY need the camera to defeat her there...

I unno how important this is to note, but the ghosts aren't that hard to begin with...well, Kyouka isn't as you encounter her several times.
I believe the master builder isn't that tough the first time he's encountered
And Yashuu is... well, essentially one of the final bosses, and you truly 'fight' her twice, I think. And both is towards the end.
Other ghosts are easier and such, and we already discussed the issue of hiding. I think... if a person states well enough where they're hiding, they shouldn't have to worry about making a check, it'd make things a little easier.
However if they watch the ghosts move, as when they're 'friendly' they have a set pattern of movement, they could be attacked depending on when they decide to leave the hiding spot.
Mebbe I'm just thinking too much on this... I'll try to put together the ghost list for the shrine carpenters and the Shrine Maidens. And fill out the other information.
The Head Builder killed all his carpenters and builders, and had one help him kill as well those that tried to escape, and then made them sacrificial pillars...
They were supposed to be pillars actually, as that was the final sealing of the rift shrine. HURR. And there is a photo op of the master builder, finally watching him ...well not watching him but he does kill himself to become the final pillar.
God...I know waaaaay too much about this. XD
