"So...what? We kill them now?" As long as Lunamarie could remember, that was the way is was done. It was destined to always end in a brutal death of a pair. "What? We? You mean I will kill the pair." "Why just you? I wanna help too." "Oh, shut up." He waved his hands as if waving away the thought, "It might not even come to that." The grumpy diva glared at her Shadow, "I want to help this time." "No" "You can't say no to me! I'm your host!" She stamped her foot, though the slipper didn't make much of an impact. "Luna....I'm only looking out for you." His expression fell, as did his smile. "Jet, we're 19 now. I can look after myself." She could feel the pair now. They were getting close to the border. "C'mon! Let's go meet them." Elated, she took Jet's hand and ran out the door in her pajamas. Screaming fans greeted her, and groaned as their idol bolted out of sight, her 'boyfriend' in tow. Down a hallway, out a backstage door, and under a red velvet rope. Then they were in the forest, feeling for the pair, ready to intercept them.

"Where are they anyway?" she asked in an uncomfortable voice. The jacket was getting tighter as Richter pulled on it more.
"I just sensed them in a forest not too far from here, it shouldn't be long before they get here, or we get there. They're in our turf now. It's time to give them a nice little welcome." His face was smug, he was obviously planning something.
"It would be a lot easier for us to appear as a threat if i wasnt tied up you know," she said struggling a little, "it is a little hard to move in this."
"Do you promise not to run away?" Richter asked half-heartedly.
"As long as you don't do this again, yeah I promise." She let out a soft sigh as the straps on the jacket were loosened. "Finally," she said gratefully, "it was starting to hurt."
The two continued on thier path through the various buildings that surrounded them. "Human settlements no doubt. Those pathetic weaklings don't deserve to live on this world."
Leah could do nothing but agree with Richter, in fact, this was the only thing she agreed with him on. This was the reason they became partners in the first place. The two didn't want to fight thier own kind, instead they wanted to focus thier powers against the humans. Only time would tell if they would succeed. They were only a few yards away from the forest now, and Leah could tell that the chance she had been waiting for would soon arrive.

Xiot had done as her Shadow had told her to, and kept her guard up in case anyone was planning on attacking them. Tox had seemed to be at ease about this whole thing, but she was actually a bit nervous. They were stepping on other Host and Shadow territory. That was almost always a sure-fire way to end up dead.
Xiot stopped mid-step, and franticly looked around her. Tox turned around to see her Host looking frazzled. "Are they within your senses now?" Tox asked. Xiot nodded. "Yeah. Keep your eyes peeled. They're within 60 feet of us, now." Tox nodded to her Host and took a first good look at her surroundings. Sixty feet wasnt a whole lot of a distance, so they would most likely be in sight. But Tox saw the forest, it was within 30 feet of them. It was more than likely that the pair they were sensing were in there, preparing to attack, rather than scoping the area in the open. "Ready yourself, Xiot. We've got a pretty good pair headed our way."

"We're really close now." Jet smiled wickedly. "You feel them, don't you?" Lagging behind by a couple steps, Lunamarie scoffed. "Of course I can feel them." She glared down at her ragged slippers. The bramble of the foest had shredded them to bits. Jet noticed the child-like pout. "Why the hell did you decide to come in slippers?" "Why the hell do you think you can talk to me like that?" She retorted. "Wait, stop." Jet jumped in front of Lunamarie, as if blocking her from somebody's sight. "What is it?" The moon shrouded trees cast ominous shadows across the thick forest floor and the sound of crickets filled the brisk air. Footsteps could be heard now. Footsteps of another pair.

The two came to a halt. "So you sensed it too," said Richter, half asking.
"Yeah, there is more than just one pair up ahead."
"It may be wise to wait here. If they are enemies, one will disappear from our senses eventually, then we can head after the other. Either that or they will both be weakened...I couldn't have asked for better circumstances than this." The mild enthusiasm was hard to miss in his voice.
"I guess so," said Leah lightly. "Please just don't tie me up in the meantime."

Tox cautiously moved towards the forest in front of Xiot, protecting her from any sudden attacks. They entered the bare outskirts when Xiot whispered, "Thirty-two feet." Tox turned her head and nodded once. They were deeper into the forest now, no one from the town would be able to see them. "How much farther?" Tox asked quietly. Xiot didnt answer immediately, calculating how far away the other pair was. "Id say just more than ten feet. But not by much," She looked around the dark shadows of the forest, trying to see if any figures or anything were present. "Another pair, different territory..." Tox said aloud, not being secretive about her location anymore. "...We may be in over our heads on this on, Xiot."

The pained grimace crossed Jet's face again. "Another pair?! Why didn't I notice that earlier?" Lunamarie was distracted, fiddling with a new rip in her cashmere turtleneck, "I dunno." "Well, it doesn't matter. There's no running away now. You ready, little diva?" The wicked smile that was so familiar and loved by Lunamarie spread across the Shadow's face. Like always, she returned the devious grin, "That's a stupid question. I perform in front of millions of people almost every day. I can handle-" "Let me do the talking, okay?." The flustered diva glared at her dominating Shadow, but nodded nonetheless. "Whatever. After this, I want to order room service at the hotel." "Whatever you say, princess." The pairs were closing in. Just a mere ten feet away...

"The two pairs are about to meet," said leah lightly. "I'm sure they can sense us here."
"That doesn't matter, we'll let those two settle matters before we come into the picture." Richter was in deep thought, probably planning what he was going to do to the pairs once they'd had at each other.
"I could always use my powers to cloud our presence," Leah offered, "it will probably stop them from mistaking us for the other."
"We're already in thier radar, there really is no need to do that."
"Well maybe we should move back a bit and then I'll hide our signatures, then it'll just look like we fled."
"Not a bad idea," said Richter, glad that his shadow was thinking on her feet. "Let's do that then."
The pair began to retreat a few yards back and out of the range of the other pairs senses.

The Shadow heared the sound of voices- two voices, one male the other female- in the surrounding area. For a moment, she thought she felt the pressence of yet another pair. Three pairs all in the same general area? What is going on here? She threw the thought from her mind and focused on the task at hand. Tox looked at Xiot, who was still frantically looking about and around herself, and waved a hand indicating 'calm down'. "Xiot, I know you dont want to do this, but I need you to do me a favor." The Host got an annoyed look on her face. "You want me to try and find the general direction of where the other pair is, right?" She said bluntly. Tox nodded with a grin. "I want you to stand only a foot or two in front of me, and then slowly rotate around me until you feel them come within ten feet. Okay? No danger or pressure." "Saying that only adds pressure..." Xiot mummbled. Nonthless, she did what her Shadow told her to do, and when she was facing the south-eastern part of where they were standing, she pointed in front of her. "There," She whispered. Tox nodded and got in front of her Host. "There's no more point in hiding, we know you're right there. Come on out and at least greet another pair with the proper...'respect.'" Tox said, with a tone that easily allowed one to hear the 'quotes' around the word 'respect'. She clearly didnt mean the sort of respect Humans knew.

"What?! Oh, the nerve!" Flustered and insulted, Lunamarie clenched her fists at her sides, trembling with outrage. "Respect, huh? I'll show them respect!" "Luna, why does that insult you?" Jet hissed over his shoulder. He dare not show his back to the enemy. But his Host was already deep in the throes of her chant. "When hate clashes with insult That is when trees fall Show me the path" Jet fell to his knees as Lunamarie tapped on his power. Groaning filled the air and the leaves on the trees trembled. The Shadow had to leap aside as a tree came crashing down over him. Lunamarie definitly had a natural talent for fighting, and her demonstration proved it. Every tree within 20 feet had toppled over away from the battlefield, revealing the second pair. Grinning wickedly, Lunamarie waved at them. "Hi there." Like a good Shadow, Jet resumed his place in front of Lunamarie, blocking them from the other pair's sight. "What do you want here?" The crackling electricity in his voice was not subtle

Xiot, being the carefree and idiot as she was, waved back to the other pair with a friendly expression. Tox glared at her from over her shoulder and her Host almost immediately stopped waving. "We dont want any trouble, that's for sure." Tox said defensively. "We've already got enough of that up at home ever since that one kid was killed!" Xiot chimed in, only to recieve another glare from her Shadow. Tox sighed and turned back to the other pair. "I know we're on your territory and everything, but we needed to get away from where we were. But like I said before, we dont want any trouble..." She paused. "But that's seeming to be kind of hard, since instincts are kicking in." She hinted.

"Oh Jet, let's let them stay." Lunamarie hugged herself and swayed back and forth, pure bliss written on her face. Again, Jet hissed violently over his shoulder, "Are you insane? How am I supposed to protect you when you invite our enemies in?!" "Maybe I don't always need to be protected!" She seemed unconcerned with the fact that the other pair was listening in. Peeking around Jet, Lunamarie tried to catch the eyes of the other host. "What happened to you? Did you lose your home?" Jet didn't interject, probably because that was what he was just going to ask.

The pair looked at one another and then back at the other pair across from them. Xiot looked at the ground, and Tox sighed. "Something like that," She said. "Xiot is more Human than I am, so she's the one who was born of Human parents. She had a home, but it was...torn up...and her family, well...they left for somewhere while she was meeting me somewhere for the first time. We still dont know where they are." Tox stopped and looked over her shoulder at her Host, who wasnt looking up from the ground. "As for me, I never had parents, as far as I know. I woke up one day like this," She motioned to her apperance before continuing. "So I figure I either popped up outa nowhere, or I was born from Human parents and somehow I lost all of my memory. So you could say neither of us have homes." The Shadow sighed again, feeling awkward for talking for so long. That was the longest speech she had given ever since she could remember.

Jet scoffed, "We don't harbor runaway pairs." "No, wait Jet." Lunamarie walked around her Shadow and came closer to the pair. "I would ask the same of you if I were kicked out of my territory. What would you say if I asked you?" "Lunamarie, please." He placed a hand on her shoulder to try to hold her back. Like a true celebrity, Lunamarie simply shrugged him off. "You can do it too, can't you? Say things that make terrible things happen." "Of course she can, that's why I'm telling them to lea-" "Shut up, Jet, let her talk." Her words stabbed him like a dagger to the heart. His Host had never been confronted with another pair before, and because of her Shadow's doting she was completly naive to the danger. Even as they talked, the nervous Shadow shot wary glance to the side, where the other pair was lingering.

"I believe I may have chosen the wrong element to hide us with," Leah said in a half-scared tone. "That Jet character knows we're over here. Our signatures now match that of simple humans, but I'm afraid he caught onto us before I could hide them."
"It's alright Leah. If worse comes to worse, we'll just take them both down. Remember, we're here to recruit though, not to kill. Go easy if it comes to fighting." His face started to twist into a slightly menacing look. His crooked smile giving off the vibe that he actually wanted to fight.
"Ok..." said leah, now looking into Jets eyes. It was an interesting form of eye contact, for, after all, only one of them could actually see any eyes. She knew, however, that Jet was fully aware of thier presence and signatures.
They moved closer to the other pairs to catch more of the conversation. Both of them using thier powers to mask any sound from physical operation.
