Dark_Stang Wolfgang Tiefdonner Auto tranny's also lose more power through the driveline, because they're more complicated. That's why you tune it... get rid of the torque management system if you want it for drag racing and it'd be just like popping the clutch. Toke's sexnoma allready does second gear scratches and he only firmed up the shifts in it. Yeah, it's true that the torque converter would keep it from being direct drive, but it's not like power is just dissappearing into thin air. It's there, waiting to be harnessed. Actually, the power is disappearing into thin air. That's why you need to harness it. biggrin Anyway, I imagine a race-worthy manual tranny would still be more efficient, but tuned automatics are quicker...

i do not care if i dont touch my clutch and power shift perfectly every gear i will never ever be able to run a 1/4 mile as fast as an auto...now on a road course i would own an auto because i can control where my rpms are according to where i make the most power. also with my auto trans i sufferd a 26 percent drivetrain loss...with my manual trans it was bumped down to 17 percent...thats alot of hp when you make as much as i do.

Big Stickers That Say What Your Car Is - Yep. A yellow Cavalier at school has a big sticker on the front windshield that says CAVALIER and a jiant chevy bowtie on the back... I allready know it's a cavy by the overall look of it, (not to mention all the badging on it) I don't need your windshield to tell me. Nitrous Bottles - Okay peoples... if you have a Nitrous bottle in your car that you don't use for racing, it's pathetic not cool. If you have to rely on the juice to pass somebody your car just sucks. Also, N02 really isn't needed as long as you know what you're doing. And here is my proof for this. No MSG SycloneCombustion Engines - That's right, oh yeah, I said it. Cycclone Magnetic Engines (magnet engines that generate over 300 ponies)

Those little colored balls for your antenna: though the smilie face ones are pretty pimp, the regular pink, orange, yellow, etc. balls are not required. If, for any reason, you cannot distinguish your car from another in a parking lot, you should put down the keys and break out your 18-speed bike.

Super Panda More than one TV in the car...firstly it has no place on a race car...maybe something you would cruise around in. However it pains me to see people (*cough*west coast customs *cough cough*) placing TVs in the door pannels, in the trunk and in the head rests of the back seat. What the hell?! I can't understand why people would want to waste money like that. Its absurd. Unless you plan on kindapping people, why do you need a TV in the trunk? Anyone go to the SEMA Show in Vegas this past Week? There was a Car there with 7 TV Screens in the Dash alone. Then the ones implanted into the Windows. WTF? Why? How do you drive a car if you can't read the Tachometer or Speedometer? No Gages whatsoever!?

Attach a computer to the engine and differential/transmission, get rpm/speed readouts, and hook it up so that they display in one of the screens. lol Then you could customize the tach and speedo so that they were any style you could possibly think of. 3nodding rolleyes

Sema for the most part seems to be a place where car comanies can showcase thier stuff. Look at the crazy alpine cars those two guys built.

20" Chrome off road Rims:
Just, No. Hell no. Expensive, heavy, and make your truck SCREAM "Showtruck!" Even Hummers and Unimogs (Which have portal axles and large disk brakes) only need 17" (16.5 for the Humvee)
Bigger rims on your truck to clear brakes: Cool. Bigger rims on your truck because they look cool: Lame-o.

Big Wheels = Big Rotational Weight. Rotational weight is... I think eight times worse than static weight.

I watched a guy with 20" chrome rims, and 40" tires get his rim beat to crap by a rock, and it damaged it so badly that the tire wouldn't hold air anymore.
And he didn't have a fullsize spare, and nobody had a spare that was the same bolt pattern. LUCKILY, my town has a F-350 tow truck on 35" BFG MTs and a nasty 460 to come to the guy's rescue.
Worst of all, that tow truck kicked my a** off the line when we were back on the road, while carrying the Chev 1500.
