What level of chess would you like to start (Basic, Opening, or End Game): Opening
Why did you choose this class: I've played chess for years, but don't seem to get much better past a certain point...
What are you looking forward to getting out of this class: a USCF rating higher than 1250
Have you read the all the all the information on this page? yes
If you could change the name of your profesor to anything what would it be? hmm... I can't say I know you well enough to make an accurate decision here, so I'll agree with Fantasy and say Stormy

Alrighty I've checked out your forms and realized I got students going for all 3 classes. That means I have to do 3 different lectures so Profesor Stormy is going to need some time to get things settled out a bit. Before so I have to make a placement test for those trying out for openings and end game. At the same time Profesor Stormy has got a paper to do for english class so that also contributes to the problem. Most likely class will either start Thursday or next Monday. The placement test will also be given out on Thursday and due around Friday or Saturday so that how things are looking 3nodding

I need to postpone the first class until tomorrow...I still need to work on some tweaking with the slides but I might have to make it individual slides where you click to see each one. If I do that then I can use png and the image will be much better. If I use gif I can make it a slide show that you can see in one sitting but image maybe poor. I still need to work on the slides a bit but it will be up tomorrow 3nodding

No problem yall...the lecture material is up finally. My power went out yesterday all day which delayed my posting of it. I also have to make some changes to the class. I am going to decide to start everyone with the beginning class. The reason why is because even if you know how to play the basic will be good review and also teach a lot of new things. Chess is not about know just the piece move but also knowing the advantages of each piece. I am sure a lot of yall who do know how to play have never played pawn games or knight games. These may seem silly to you but mastering these sill skills will make you a great player. Another reason why is also the work it takes to prepare these lecture. Sure I could load off the internet and copy and paste but yall could do that whenever you want. You wouldn't need to take this class. I am doing it this way so it is easy and condensed to not confuse you. I use visual to represent all my points and to reinforce what I am trying to say. It may not seem like it but it takes quite some bit of time to get all these slides made. If I have to do 3 different presentation I would not be able to keep up. That is why I am going to let everyone start at beginning. If you know how to play let this review and also a time to learn things you had forgotten. This helps me greatly and gives me time to put enough effort into each one to better serve your purpose. I hope yall understand and that would also mean no placement test. Thank you very much and hope you enjoy.
*One more note please read under the syllabus about the class attendance which I have changed 3nodding *

And actually, power pawns was one of my personal favourites for chess variants. What is a knight game however?
Also I might not be able to be here on Tuesday as my driving exam falls on that day. sweatdrop If I can make it it'll probably be somewhere later in the evening.

If you viewed it now already than you are set. The next lecture will be up by next Thursday. I'm not to strict on attendance. In fact as long as you come 2 times each week. You make 4 post total. One for saying you are here. Another post saying what learn. Do that for both lecture. All is good than. I am not going to make it a set date for viewing each one. I'll change that on the syllabus. Knight games have many variety. There is the knight tour, knight vs 1 pawn, full knight games (all pawn and knight), etc... You will get to see them all when I teach the knight and all it's activities 3nodding

Don't forget to make 2 post....1 saying you are here...another posting a fact you learned. Ask question if you need.
Also reread the section about the class attendance for I have changed it.
Each week make sure you come 2 days a week. That isn't to much to ask. Plus you can see the entire presentation under 5 mins probably. Not a lot of reading so that should be a upside biggrin
