Chaos blushed pink and smiled, glad to have Sorbete so near him. She made him feel safer, and happy. "Good idea Sorbete." He said a bit shyly. As they walked through the dense jungle, Chaos gazed around, taking in the sights. He noticed it was getting darker as the treetops began blocking the bright sunlight. He hadn't really seen any animals so far, which confused him. "Where do you think all the animals are?" He asked quietly. "You'd think there would be a lot of them in the jungle."

Sorbete noticed the lack of activity as well. The forest seemed to stand still, the only noise was that of the snapping twigs underneath foundlings' paws and their brief exchanges of words. "Now that you mention it... It is kind of quiet... Too quiet, almost." She looked around warily then turned back to Chaos.

Chaos fur bristled slightly as he eyes darted around, looking for any danger. He was fairly frightened, but he was ready to protect Sorbete if needed. He was sure she could probably handle herself, but he wanted to be ready just incase. He puffed out his chest a bit and continued with Sorbete deeper into the jungle. The tree canopy was fairly thick at this point, casting strangely shaped shadows onto the jungle floor. As they walked along, Chaos swore he heard a growl. Unsure if his frightened mind was playing tricks on him, he turned to Sorbete and quietly asked, "D-Did you just h-hear something?" Trying very hard to keep the fear out of his voice.

Sorbete's mind was elsewhere. Therefore, she was oblivious to the low growl creeping its way to their ears through the canopy. She did notice Chaos' question, however, "Nope, didn't hear a thing! You must be hearing things." She spoke while keeping up her steady pace, the crackle of the leaves they stepped on seemed to echo now. The mint colored foundling remained unaware of the surroundings. She was in her private bubble into which she'd happened to let Chaos into.

Chaos smiled weakly. He was pretty sure he heard a growl, but pushed that into the back of his mind. As they continued further into the jungle, his thoughts wandered to Sorbete. He was glad she was here with him. He wouldn't even have traveled into the jungle without her, him being a bit of a "scaredy-cat." He smiled sweetly. It was nice to have someone to talk to also. He was alone most of the time, so the company was greatly enjoyed. She seemed like a very friendly foundling, who wasn't put off by his shyness, which was a nice change for Chaos. He slowly began focusing on the real world again, leaving his daydreams behind. He noticed they were entering a small, sunny clearing. "Well this is a nice spot.." He said, stopping for a moment to admire the jungle. As he looked around, a jungle cat leaped down from the trees and landed in front of them, baring it's teeth. Chaos was surprised, stunned for a moment before leaping into action. He jumped infront of the cat, making sure Sorbete was behind him, before showing his teeth to the cat, his fur bristling.

Sorbete could barely get a whimper out before Chaos jumped in front of her. Her eyes widened in terror, what was he doing?!
"Chaos!!" Her shriek echoed along the jungle, possibly alerting other creatures. She didn't care, her friend's life was at risk. She looked about frantically, wishing for something helpful all the while. This was a wonderful day. Miracles happen on wonderful days, don't they?

Chaos was absolutely terrified. But between the adrenaline and the need to protect Sorbete, his fear was the last thing on his mind.
He glared at the jungle cat, letting out a long, low growl, hoping to dissuade the cat from attacking. Unfortunately for Chaos, the cat didn't get the hint. The cat swiped a paw towards Chaos, narrowly missing him as he dodged. Chaos swung back at the cat, hitting it's shoulder. That made the cat angrier. It swung it's paw at Chaos, hitting him square in the chest. "Oof!" He said, flying to the left from the impact. He was still for a moment, catching his breath. As the cat stalked towards him, Chaos readied to strike. As soon as the jungle cat came close enough, Chaos leapt up and bit it's shoulder..hard.
The cat yowled and pain and ran back into the shadows of the jungle. Luckily for Chaos, it seemed to be a fairly young jungle cat, just barely an adult, so it didn't pack quite the punch, nor had the pain tolerance, of a full grown cat.
After watching the cat retreat, Chaos slumped on the ground, breathing hard and going over in his mind what just happened.

"Chaos!" Sorbete was upon him in a matter of seconds, her face pained with the terrified thoughts of a fatal injury. She looked him over, worried eyes lingering on the deep wounds. He would live, at this she gave off a grateful sigh, but she knew that wounds like these did have to get treatment.
"Let's go back to the ocean!" She came closer still to Chaos, nudging his body up off the ground. "The iodine in the water should treat you better than any herb! It'll sting a little, but you're tough! You just took down a jungle cat, didn't you?" She laughed lightly at this, but a crease of worry still lined her features, for this wasn't something to laugh about.

Chaos got to his feet slowly and gave a weak smile. "That cat didn't stand a chance." He joked, laughing quietly before wincing slightly. His face grew worried as he looked over Sorbete, checking for injuries. "Are you all right? Did it hurt you?" He asked, wondering if perhaps he let the jungle cat off too lightly.

"I'm fine!" Sorbete gave him a broken laugh, "Let's just get you all healed up, okay?" She couldn't explain the feeling when she watched him in pain, it was as if she'd hurt with him when he winced that one time. Supporting him, she led him back towards the water.
It didn't take them too long to get back. So they hadn't walked that far, after all. She propped against him walking towards the water and waded in 'til they were both in to their ankles, "Do you think you can swim in your condition?" Her question was spoken with eyebrows tilted up in concern.

Chaos stood there in the water for a moment, moving his limbs. "Yea, I should be fine." He gave her a smile before wading deeper into the water.
As the water began to hit his chest, Chaos winced and let out a small gasp. He stopped for a moment to catch his breath, trying not to think of the pain. All he thought about was Sorbete. He was so glad she was ok! He sighed dreamily before remembering his wounds. He steeled himself for the pain and swam forward, immersing his whole chest in the salt water.
"Aah!" He exclaimed, the stinging pain making him lose what little composure he had. He treaded water for a few moments, calming his breathing and refocusing his eyes. The initial pain had subsided as he looked over to Sorbete and smiled. He blushed as his eyes met her, feeling guilty for making her worry.

Sorbete hesitated entering the water. What a stupid thing to do, especially when she should be there by his side in case his limbs falter! As Chaos smiled at her, however, she felt a blush engulf her face and stared at him dumbly.
After what seemed like an eternity locked in his eyes, she looked away coyly. Oh, yeah, you're so shy, you've only stared at him for a hundred days now! She giggled lightly at her internal conflict and swam up to him, circling around him before coming to rest before him, looking into his eyes once more. It was addicting, that feeling. She couldn't quite explain it, but she just couldn't pull away, the feeling was ecstatic.

Chaos blushed pink as Sorbete came nearer to him. He stared back into her eyes, losing himself in her gorgeous purple eyes. After a few moments, he realized that he was just staring at her, not even saying anything. He blushed crimson and looked away, embarrassed.
"Thank you for helping me back there.." He said sincerly, smiling at her. "I'm very relieved you're unhurt." He smiled, so glad she swam out here with him.

A shy smile crept onto Sorbete's face, "It was no problem, really! And there's not a scratch on me while you have those awful wounds!" She could see the pale wounds underneath the clear water's surface. They were a pearly white when submerged, any loss of blood being washed away instantly.
Looking at him, her heart beat accelerated. Wasn't she strange today? But she could've sworn she could see the slight change of tone in his fur color surrounding his cheeks. At this realization, her blush grew deeper, "so... Chaos... I was just wondering..." She wondered if this question would come off too quick, as they had only met earlier in the day, "Do you... Like me?" The second those words were spoken, she looked away, the blush now much too noticeable on her face.

At hearing the question, Chaos blushed a deep crimson. Well of course I like her! I even... l-like like her.. he thought, giggling quietly that he was using kit terminology. But, does she like like me? What if she thinks I'm a weakling, I mean look at my chest! As his self doubt started chiming in, he was having a bit of inner conflict. Well, I can confess my feelings and risk getting hurt, or refuse to answer and risk hurting her.. After that thought, he knew what he should do.
Chaos looked up at Sorbete, his cheeks still crimson. "S-Sorbete" He said quietly before clearing his throat a bit. "I... really l-like you, I may even l-love you.." He said, stumbling slightly over his words. He prayed that Sorbete liked him back, that he didn't just scare away his only friend...
