The Indecisive Color ----------------------------------------------------- I was hacked, I don't even know if thats the proper thing to say because nothing was taken, I just couldn't get on so I logged on to my email to find out what happened and my password had been changed to a bunch of random numbers and letters. O.o It was quite weird, and I still don't know who did it or what exactly happened. ---------------------------------------------------- x_x Lucky. When I was hacked, they changed my pass AND the accounts email, so I couldn't figure out WTH was going on.

On my old main I was hacked 2 or 3 times simply because my avi had good items on her. The last time she was hacked I caught the hacker by starting a convo with them and the moron answered back saying they were the new "insert account name here". So I screen shot it and sent a report asap. That was in July. I made this account at the prospect of never getting my old one back. But the day of my birthday this past year I had an email in my inbox and because of the proof I had given the account was greatfully returned to me with all my items restored. Since then I changed the account name and I change my passwords regularly. She's now a mule of mine but I do get on and love her from time to time. ^^

When I was hacked, I didn't even have a lot of good items because back then I didn't go on Gaia much. So at the time I was on my mule and I saw that my main account was online and I freaked out. I logged off and I tried to get in but it didn't accept my password. I filed a report and after about a day, I realized that I could try to retrieve my password. So I did and it worked. I checked my trades and I found the guy and I filed another report. A year later, no reply which leaves me to assume that the guy is still out and hacking people.

 I was hacked via phishing scam in Feb. of 2007... after being on gaia for years. It was prior to the GIANT page that says "this isnt a gaia page". I clicked a tiny url that was SUPPOSED TO send me to the Ava to vote for someone...and it showed up as a page with sign in screen. My interwebs at the time did it all the time anyway, so I didnt think anything of it... in goes password, and it sends me back to page I came from, and then all of a sudden I am nakey... well I immediatly changed my password and email addy... but it was too late. My Penguin Slippers, Golden Laurels, Chain Wallet, Large Gaia Tshirt, Ninja headband, and a couple Thank you letters we're gone. I had only a couple of items of worth... all under 50k in value. I was crushed. I reported it, and waited. In June of 2007 I was perm-banned for attempted hacking. Apparently the phisher had posted under my s/n and when gaia did the whole "post change over" in march of '07 it didnt show up in my history, so I didnt know. ... well I deffinatly contacted mod after mod with my mule... They told me basically I had to wait til my hacking report was recieved. Well in December of '07 I finally got word back. I was unbanned and a few of my items returned ... My penguin slippers, my ninja band, and that's it. I was told the hacker sold my other items on the open market, and there was nothing I should do. The mod who talked to me actually said "Good luck questing to get them back" ... What a slap in the face!

Almost a year ago, my boyfriend's account glitched. He had been in the market place buying something, when an error came up. It was all in site codes and stuff. He thought it was kind of odd, went to his inventory and everything but game items were gone.
In just 5 seconds, it was all GONE.
Things he had were-
A Katana for every position.
A Gwee for every position
Plus a whole bunch of other things. :/ He'll never be able to get it all back.. we've filled out reports, talked to admins, ect. Nothing. stare

Well, I've been ALMOST hacked. I was still a noob at the time, and approached a well clad man in the towns. I asked him, how have you so many wonderful things? He gave me a link to a site, which asked for my username and password. I saw thru the b*****d and ran like hell!

My old account was Taurerana and I had it since 2004. This past year back in like... May, my account was hacked and the haker stole my gold, my orphan, and my one or two monthly collectalbles. I tried getting my password back to get on and change it, but I couldn't find the e-mail that sent it to me. So I made this account that has next to nothing on it. I lost all of my quest items and my christmas caroling outfits.
Its tough starting over. I hope the hackers computer explodes in thier face. scream

Sadly, I've been hacked too.
It was on another account, and to this day, I still don't know who it was, or how they did it.
I've never entered my pass anywhere other than gaia, so it's kinda odd
and my pass isn't exactly easy to guess...
the hacker made off with 10k that i was saving for a commission, and a few items T^T
i'd say they got away with like....30k in total

I joined Gaia in '03. That's right, 2003. That's 6 years of devoted service to this site. SIX. and one morning I logged onto my account (mind you its been changed since my first one back in '03), and I found that my avi was wearing a bulls eye t-shirt and some really crappy jeans. (xXxChocolatecupcakesxXx). I went to my inventory, and BAM. everything, was gone. EVERYTHING. Gold, Items, that are now worth over 90million stare Everything. I had Penguin Slippers, Ninja Bands, Seal Slippers, Letter sets from every year, at least 2 sets per year the list goes on (find list in link that you can click in this posting format.). I've spent years, on Gaia, and countless dollars.
So, I went to my trades to find out that my BEST friend IN REAL LIFE, had hacked me. I thought it was a joke. I reported, (at this point, I was on my library's computer and I couldnt screen shot, FIGURES!) and then went to her account and took my items back BEFORE she could sell them in the MP and I wouldn't get them back.
I got home, and planned on screenshotting that I took ONLY what she took from me, and I sent the items to my NEW accounts (I love my sprinkles, CupcakesAndSprinkles 2), and that they were still ONLY what I had stolen, nothing of hers... and BAM! Permanently banned... stare
So I mailed Gaia. My sister mailed Gaia. My boyfriend mailed Gaia. and what did they say? "You hacked, You're banned" I was like, "look in the trades. I was hacked, the stuff I took from her account was MY stuff." and what, No response. No damn response. 6 years of being on this site, and you cant give me the courtesy to give me a damn response?
Yeah. Gaia is going downhill fast.
