So, how did I get in to the scene,
Friend told me, "check out psychobilly dude!"
And back at the time when I was 100% Skinhead, I was all, "OH HELL NO, They have nothing to do with our scene!"
Then I checked it out so I could have a reason to hate it more than empty arguments against it, like the one stated earlier. So, I checked out Mad Sin and Demented Are Go, and they didn't suck they where awesome and it's hard to try and hate something you love. I never started with Tiger Amry or Nekromantix since you know, they're pretty boring in my opinion, both bands have a few good songs (and Nekromantix first album is nice...) but from that...they just keep going with the same s**t cd after cd.
Anyway, I kinda got in to it when I was aiming to hate it, it didn't help that Mad Sin played in sweden at the time too.
and on another note, everyone should know who Dave Vanian and Cpt. Sensible are... razz

My city is nothing but scenie-weenies and a lot of ganstas. It's really disappointing. No punk scene [anymore] and no psycho scene. I need to go to L.A. more often. :/

In europe, we psychos don't know what a scene kid is, because we have never seen any at a psycho show.
(But I do know what a scene kid is, just so that no one will explain it for me)

I haven't gotten much into the ska scene but I like the music, even if I know a little bit.

When my dad was young he was a Teddy Boy so he obviously had good cds and records in his collection, thus I grew up listening to old Elvis and Stray Cats.
Then I just dug deeper, with The Cramps doing covers of old Rockabilly obscure songs...
I listened to a CD my mate owned, it was a best of Meteors cd.
That, plus his Best of Demented are go cd...
Then I just took the next step, I bought a demented are go DVD, the whole "look" just sucked me in.
I have always been a punk fan so my mind was very open....
Now i'm a full blood "trad" psycho.
And I ******** hate Horrorpops and Tiger Army.
They aren't psychobilly.

When I started going to a psychobilly/rockabilly bar in germany about 6 years ago....this "scene" just mixes so well with booze

I was on vacation in Reno, Nevada and I had nothing better to do so I looked up bands that were going to be playing in the area the two weeks that I was staying there.
There were 2 shows...One of which I don't recall, and Tiger Army.
I had heard of tiger army before but couldn't remember where, so I went to their myspace (i think that's what it was) and I listened to Rose of the Devil's Garden.
I thought it was AMAZING. >.>
My friend wanted to go to the other show though, but I got all pissy about it so we went to Tiger Army. :] LOL
I saw The Briggs (which weren't that fantastic. :/), The Black Rose Phantoms, and Tiger Army.
It was a great first experience.

I started out by just listening to the old timers: Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Reverend Horton Heat... then some of my HS classmates started up their own band. I love the look, so classy and never goes out of style... the hair and makeup is totally rockin'! Plus, I love shopping for rockabilly clothes - the hunt for awesome stuff and the satisfaction of finding the perfect item to finish off the look, is what does it for me now!
