Sarkanto moved toward the town gate in an attempt to get a closer look at the meeting. The guards that were stationed nearby merely ignored the two men, there lances at the ready just in case. Sarkanto merely ignored them and made out some words like " Fire", and then " accident". He hummed at these findings, guessing that they had of set an accidental fire. He stifled a laugh, remebering all the times he lit his home on fire....

" Sar..." Martin said, his footsteps were competely silent as they passed through the bushes, his body was shifted to the side sensing something.
It was a strange feeling for him, like something was watching them and after years of traveling he had learned how to sense it.
" I know.." Sarkanto murmured, his hands already on the sheathes of his blades.

Mercy used one hand to flip her hair back into place. "Oh really? Well, that's just great. You do, of course, realize that this type of magic was very strong and thusly was done by a magician so skilled he's over your heads, right?" her smirk looked innocent, causing the already angered soldiers to fume. One of them clenched their fist, but, was stopped by the look of their captain. His voice dropped to an urgent undertone.

"Word has it... the dark lord is back. But, we must keep this confidential! Otherwise the entire world would be in a mass panic."

Mercy nodded. "I gathered as much. I'll go and see the marketplace more closely myself." she straightened and bowed to the soldiers and without a word, left to her own business.

However, heading to town for entirely different reasons, Faire looked for work where she could. Brushing back her loose hair, she immediately searched for the inn, but, what she didn't realize was the fire's remains in the district.

Tsarina's good, sharp ears clued her into the fact that she'd been sensed, and she stiffened. She tried to follow in a way that wouldn't seem offensive, although she knew that if they could sense her, they'd probably jump on her the moment she got close enough. Still, she continued moving closer, telling herself that it wouldn't matter; she could overpower them with sheer force of arms, not to mention the abililty to fly away at will. Thus was how she got extremely close to them, still separated by a measly tree.

Sarkanto's body moved calmly, yet swiftly. In mere seconds he had drawn his blade and faced forward, his friend right beside him his tome wide open. Sarkanto slashed forward at the tree, letting it fall to the side, to reveal their " Stalker".
" Who are you, and what do you want?" Sarkanto asked, in a slightly dark tone. His swords pointing towards the female laguz.

Martin stepped forward and eyed the laguz, her black wings and hair, perfectly matching that of the tree's shade. Impervious to say the least, she had gotten in pretty close, but that didn't mean she was entirely hostile. If she truly meant to kill them she would of waited for them to separate from the guard or go into a nearby inn.

Tsarina glared intently at the unique blade poised at her neck. She sighed as she raised her hands. "Hey, hey, no need for hostilities here," she ushered, pushing the blade away from her neck with a finger. "Please don't try to blow me up. All I'm doing is traveling," she said, not mentioning the fact that she'd been following the two for quite some time. She eyed the two beorc men in front of her with interest. "...Who might you be?"

As Mercy walked back to the firey mess, she saw a laguz and two others in what appeared to be a hushed misunderstanding. Well, that was her guess anyway. These people probably didn't even know what was going on, it was a little sad, yes, but, she knew it was necessary.

She was just going to go past them, but, a shine of steel reflected into her eye capturing her interest. Mercy didn't want to get involved, so one statement would do it.

"Hey," she called to them. "You be careful with those weapons. Don't point them at the wrong people."

Martin raised an eyebrow, just traveling? It was obvious to him that she must have been stalking them, but he knew that the laguz kept their secrets and pushing into such matters would only create more misunderstanding.
He nodded over to Sarkanto, who lowered his blade.
" Isn't it customary to give your name first, before asking others?" he said skeptically.

Sarkanto turned backward suddenly, spotting a girl that looked to be a mage, a rather young mage. His blade lowered and he grinned softly,
" I'm sorry, it won't happen again, just carry on with your business, " he said as if these kind of things happened alot. In fact they sorta did, and he hardly enjoyed it when others interefered.

"H-hey!" Tsarina protested. "...Hmph. Seems like some beorc actually have manners," she said, glaring at Martin. He appeared to be the more handsome one, but she didn't know the beorc standards. "The name's Tsarina. Tsarina Rossini." The crow offered a sharp, pale hand, smirking. So she'd caught the attention of a couple of people, just enough to cause a disturbance. Perfect.

Mercy raised one eyebrow. The way he talked to her... it was almost as if he was looking down on her! She tried to ignore the feeling as it the two lowered their weapons.

"I will. And don't make anymore trouble." she said, tossing her head back into her direction. Just what were those people doing anyway?

Martin smiled at shook her hand, " I'm Martin...Marting Egan," he said softly, stepping backward while closing his tome and placing it away, just as Sarkanto did the same.
" Ahem..." Martin coughed, over to Sarkanto who was now focused within the group.

" Oh, sorry.." Sarkanto said, extending his hand shaking the raven's
" I'm Sarkanto Thancor, please to meet you," he said with a bright smile, slightly more sincere than Martin's, he glanced back at the town and then at the woman, " So...What brings you? As for me and my friend, we're restocking on supplies" he added musingly.

Tsarina was going to make a crack to the woman walking away that making trouble was a crow's specialty, but she, for once, wisely kept her mouth shut. When Sarkanto asked his question, she needed to think fast. Not expecting that one. "I'm here to meet up with a friend," she said decisively. She gestured as she spoke in order to relieve the stress of the situation from her mind. "I've been looking everywhere for him, see, but he has issues, I guess. He just won't show up when he's supposed to show up. If anyone's making trouble, it's him. It's all his fault." Tsarina folded her arms nodding.

While she waited for Sarkanto and Martin's replies or comments, her gaze flickered between the two, her eyes calculating something unknown. She stayed fixed on Martin for longer, but it was nigh impossible to see that unless the person being watched was a laguz, something she was sure the two men in front of her were not. Still, she couldn't be too careful. They smelled funny.

Mercy sighed at that, and merely went on her way when a soldier bumbled up to her at such a pace that it seemed like buildings would fall. Before speaking, he leaned on his knees trying to get his breath back.

"Well, what is it?" inquired Mercy. "Clearly you wouldn't rush over here so fast for no reason."

The soldier straightened and gave a limp salute before answering. "I-I'm terribly sorry to bother you like this, mistress Lovett, but..." he began stammering words too quiet to hear.

"What, already!?" she burst out, but, at that point, she thought she already knew. Thick gray fumes whispered above the next district over and as it sunk in, the soldier confirmed her worst thoughts.

"Another mysterious fire appeared! In the Housing District! And there are still people there!" he wailed.

Mercy dashed to the scene without another word. She knew she had to save those people, but, how? She had her trusty water tome and hoped it would be enough.

As luck would have it, or, rather, as misfortune would have it, Faire had been in the Housing District when it broke out and now held a little girl firmly in her arms as she tried to find a way out. "I get myself in such messes..." she muttered, stroking the crying girl's hair. Faire kicked down one door that led outside, but, for better or worse, she couldn't tell yet.

(( Front page has been updated. Please view.))

" Hmmm...By chance what does this person look like? If we see him we could surely direct him toward you," he said calmly, glancing at the crow with a slightly mixed feeling of strangeness and confusion.
It seemed odd...

Martin ignored this and merely nodded, " Yes, we'll help in whatever way possible-" before he finished the fire had started with Sarkanto instantly turning to face the anamoly that had just occured. He unsheathed his blades and without dashed straight out for the district.
Martin gaped as his friend ran off, despite it happening alot, he never really got use to it, " Sar! Wait!" he shouted, suddenly, taking out his tome and rushing to his friend's aid.

Tsarina yelled silently in gratitude. Thank you, fire, she added mentally, pulling her fist in in silent and unseen victory. It took a moment for her to register that there was a fire, and therefore danger. "Uh oh... Heheh, I've got an idea!" The raven took off flying towards the fire. Not a chance she was giving the two a description of her companion, but this would be a perfect chance to gain a little trust and make a few connections. "H-hey! Martin!" she called out. "...I'll help out!"

Mercy used her special water tome Ocea and cleared the way, but, it would break to pieces this way before she had even quenched the raging flames. She noted the three people from before behind her and only gave them a partial glance.

"Don't come any closer! Civilians shouldn't deal with these problems." she shouted to them over the sound of crackling and hissing.

With the child still clamped in her arms, Faire saw what appeared to be a rush of magic. Water magic? She had never seen such a thing before, but, any water now was good water.

"Over here, please!" she called. "I've got a child - she needs help! She's inhaled too much smoke!" Faire pressed her closer to her chest in order to protect her.
