I've never cared for Mars Volta, I like At the Drive-In and Sparta more. I get their concept, I just don't like their sound. I would also say that Mars Volta is pretty well known.

Really? Maybe I'm just hanging out with the wrong crowd... no one has ever heard of any of those three bands. Its a little disheartening. sad

Oh well....

Yeah, strange. Well, a lot of people here like them, along with Queen, so I think you'll be good here, and have someone to talk to them about! smile

I'm not sure who else around here likes the Beastie Boys, I know I do! I heart 'em!

Sorry if I came off as rude before... I spend too much time in the Music forums which has turned me into a bit of a snob. I'll try to cut that out when I'm here though.

Most of my favorite music has come from Matt.

A Perfect Circle - Like Tool, only a little more "mellow" as Matt put it which is just right for me. I LOVE this band (even though I'll probably never see them in concert ;_; Although I did get to see Tool in concert which was amazing).

3 Libras (Mer De Noms), Imagine (Emotive; it's actually a cover but it sounds SO cool), Oretes (Mer De Noms)

Gorillaz - The first cd I ever bought for myself. It sounds so quirky and weird and yet it works. It was my #1 favorite until A Perfect Circle came along. And I love the fact that it's 2 British guys who made up an entire band of cartoon characters. Awesome.

Frou Frou - I still don't know whether it's pronounced "froo froo" or "frau frau" or whatever but I love her voice. She reminds me of Enya only with more "pop" and less "I'm singing in an opera house" echo. Another of my favs curtesy of Matt.

Jay Z I'm not sure what it is, but Black Album and beyond Shawn Carter is absolutely magnetic. Before "99 Problems" hit the airwaves I was content to give him a pass. The first time I caught that raw, brilliant black an white video, a hook got caught in my cheek and I was dragged headfirst into the worlds of Mr. Carter and Rick Rubin. Now? Well ******** air, I'll breathe HOVA instead. wink
