((hehehe.....Jet's got an enemy now.....and the Necromancy book.))
Jet reached inside of his cloak and pulled out a book and tossed it on the ground infront of the others. "You know not who I am for I walk in the shadows. The light flees from me and my fire burns fire. With eyes of ice and hair of night. With a heart of fire and a soul of shadow, I fight. One enemy has fled, yet two remain. On which side dust thou lain?"
((Jet really doesn't talk like this. It's part of the disguise.))

((I'm one of "the others" right? XD)) Previous Debrah bent down and picked up the book, flipping to a random page with no intention of actually absorbing anything written upon it. "Cute," she said, unimpressed with the writing before her. Then her gaze turned to Jet and, with no shift in expression, she added, "Theatrics are cheap, shadowchild. You do not impress me." ((It should be noted that everyone within the ruins can feel Mizar sucking out their energy--it won't kill you, but it will make you weaker. Spellcasters and those who use any form of magic or energy will feel it much more strongly than those who don't. No one is immune and I'm not trying to kill your character so don't argue with me, kay?)) ((Also, Lich, if your character isn't in the ruins anymore than you don't have to post in this thread. Move someplace more appropriate. If there isn't one, PM me and we can see about making a place that will fit.))

(Valin doesn't really have anything, he's only got a weak bit of magic. I know that will be sucked up, but after that what will happen to him)

((Basically, on non-magic users, the effect is just that it makes you feel tired and weaker. It's not as severe as it would be for spellcasters and such. For them, it would feel like they're completely drained and totally weak, because the effect is much stronger))

The man's glowing crimson eyes could be seen narrowing as she spoke. "You best develop some respect little girl. We're all in a little bit of trouble, you more so than me. If my help is going to be rejected this way, then I will leave." The man let the hood of his cloak fall down and let the illusion of his eyes and change of voice disiapte and he gave Asmoday a knowing look that told her that what he was about to say didn't pertain to her. "You pathetic girl. No wonder you rely on others for assistance. This is why I stay away from others. You others have remained the same since the beginning of time carrying yourself with an underserved air of self dignity that not even a god would want. The way I see it, you cannot afford more enemies right now and you're doing a damn good job of gaining one right now." Jet took a step closer to Debrah and in that single stride he was right infront of her, only about four inches from his chest to hers. "So back off, back down, shut the hell up, and show some appriciation. One more act of disrespect towards me, someone that's being a good semaritan, and you wont have to worry about leaving this place." Jet turned slightly and walked foward, heading towards Mizar, his eyes burning with an invisiable flame.

Previous "As I said, shadowchild," Debrah said, watching Jet's back as he walked away, "theatrics do not impress me. If you present yourself to me as a whelp struggling for dominance, I will treat you thus." Debrah turned to Eldrich and, as if the exchange with Jet had never occurred and the strain on her energies effected her not, she grinned, her fire returning in an instant. "We have a fight ahead of us, boys," she said. "Let us finish this quickly. I want to taste some of the power of this place for myself." ((Um...do I still have Torren's book?))

She looked at Jet, still not saying anything. "So what do we do now?" saying this to the group and to Jet.

At the word whelp, Jet stopped dead in his tracks and turned so abrupt one couldn't tell that he had turned at all if they hadn't seen his now slightly angered face. Jet walked foward slowly and delibritly and the others could feel the energy crackling and eminating from him, letting them know that even though Mizar was sucking energy, he still had a lot left in him. Suddenly, Jet raised a finger and pointed. "Asmoday is the only reason I do not attack you know. If this is how you treat people that attempt to help you, then you can expect no future help from me. Calling me shadowchild is one thing, yet a whelp struggling for dominance is another. Nothing has placed you above nor below me and I highly suggest that you realize such. Here, we are on equal footing. In the city of Ry, you are above me in political standings, but I care not for politics." Fire burned in Jet's eyes. He had never been good at controling anger for it was anger that drove him to fight on. Anger at others' inability to change and anger at himself for the past. Nothing could put out this fire. "You can rest assure that nothing I do is a theatric, nor will it ever. You don't believe me, ask the undead that had that book in your hand. He learned that I use not smoke and mirrors. The undead fled from me and the ones in these ruins were vaporized on spot, and now, you cannot touch me." Now, if Debrah got within five feet of Jet, she would experience a great deal of pain, as would anyone else of Debrah's species.

Previous "I have no intention of fighting you," Debrah said. "You approached me, self-righteously informing me that I should be grateful to stand in your presence, that I am weak for traveling in the company of others yet boisterously barking that I need your help and that to cause you to retract it from me is a punishment. If I wished to be treated thus, shadowchild, I would never have rejected the embrace of the gods." Debrah's anger reflected Jet's now, but she continued to stifle her power. She would not waste it. "You know nothing of me, shadowchild," she growled. "Do not presume for an instant that you can cause fear in me, or that I will hesitate to make myself an enemy. You insult me, and expect me to be regretful? Do you think I know not where I stand, and where you do? I am lowly here, shadowchild. I have more power than any mortal could ever hope to have, and do you think they praise me for it? I am feared here. I am hated. I have legions of enemies. You are no different to me than they. I do not flinch when you spit at me, shadowchild. I have ceased to be effected thus." Debrah stood in defiance, glaring at Jet for a moment with fire burning behind her eyes. But then she relaxed and turned back to Eldrich. "I will move ahead, Eldrich," she said. "Follow, when you rouse the Elf." With that, Debrah took to the skies, flying to the area where Sovern and Mizar waited.

Asmoday was torn. She looked at Jet, thinking of how happy she had been, but she had offered to help Debrah and the other. She didn't know what to do, go or stay. She closed her eyes. "You can't make this easy can you?" she asked herself.

Now that Debrah was gone, Jet allowed his powers to subside and he smiled. He had accomplished what he wanted and now he hand a large portion of the ruins to himself. There was a reason that he had looked at that book in the library not that long ago and there was a reason as to why he was here. Torren and this small party had gotten into his way. The other's couldn't feel it for they were too pure of heart, but Jet. Oh no, he was far from pure of heart so he could feel the force that seemed to be pushing at his very soul, a feeling of angry good. It took him a few mintues before, but he finally connected the feeling with the holy gauntlet that had been in the book that Eldrich had mentioned. It promised to take some of Jet's powers, and Jet didn't like that one bit, however he had seen the longing in Eldrich's eyes and aimed to give it as a peace offering. Zoning in on where the feeling was comming from the strongest, Jet began walking that way, which happened to be towards Asmoday. He stopped infront of her and in an instant held her close, but kept looking past her. "Asmoday, I do not mean anything I said back there. Tell your friends that I only wished for them to move on with their task in a hurry. The longer they wait, the less chance they have of success and I have my own objectives here. You really didn't think it coincidence that I was here did you? I do have a heart, however cold and hard it may be, and I do not wish to see them killed. If I get what I aim at getting soon enough, I will join the fight." Jet didn't let go nor move and wouldn't until Asmoday responded.
((sorry, but I thought that it'd be cool if Eldrich could use the holy gauntlet against Mizar and the other guy in this battle. let me know if I need to change this and I'll simply make Jet change his goals.))
