The man looked at her eyes. Her big gorgious indigo eyes and smiled a little. "You mean more to me then you shall ever know Ariai...and I want to know if your feelings for me are only like that of a brother and friend...or if they could possibly grow to be something more...I know of no other way to say what is bothering me." A weight hovered over his heart, unbeating though it was, ready to crush it should she reject him.

"Ah..." In the back of her mind, Ariai mused that this was oddly turning out like a romance novel or soap. "I never knew that you felt that way about me, Clifford." She stood up and walked over to the open window, letting the breeze lift her hair as she gazed out into the weakly moonlit night.
"I...I suppose...I could see us as a couple, dear Clifford. But...not now. Soon, but not now." It was odd, she thought. All this while she wanted to get a mate, and when the chance arrived, she wanted to hold off for a while. "Do you understand? I need a bit more time to myself. Very soon though, cher. Very soon." She kneeled down and hugged him tight, burrowing her face into the crook of his neck.

His arrms went around her naturally and he held her close. "I understand dear Ariai...I will wait for you until you are ready..." While the weight had settled over his heart it was not crushing...after all she said that they could try soon. Now he could turn his mind to the tasks at hand without so much distraction. He would indeed wait for her for as long as needed...for what else could he do but wait.

((awww... xd ))
Ariai felt a warmth settle over herself, a warmth that she hadn't felt since she was human. "Mm..." She felt her eyelids get heavier and heavier with sleep, until she went into her nightly slumber. The last words that could be heard from her lips were, "Soon..."

Carefully he took her into his arms and moved her over to his bed. AFter he set her onto the downy matress he kneeled by her side and studied her lovely face. A smile, abate slightly saddened, came to his lips for a moment. He then stood back up and moved back to his chair. Sitting down he got settled to rest there for the day. "Soon...soon..." He said to himself as he closed his eyes. He let his mind reach out to Liek to make sure she would find a safe place to rest for the day.

((Please pardon my lack of being here to reply. Tenth grade is murder...))
Adrien became more than a little uncomfortable when the topic turned to self defense and magic - more because of the magic than anything else. He was learning all too quickly that the world wasn't as science-strict as he thought it was - there were demons and monsters and people who could pull rabbits out of top hats! It was all so confusing, and it made his mind buzz, like he was host to a whole family of bees.
He didn't want to say anything on the matter at the moment, as it seemed the one vampire who had given him the cookies, and the other important-looking vampire, was sharing a moment of intimacy. Nothing over-bored. From what Adrien had glimpsed, it was nothing but a hug. No big deal, right? As long as it wasn't a vampiric thing to be all touchy-feely with fellow vampires. Adrien didn't feel comfortable with that idea. He wasn't even twenty yet.

((Tenth grade isn't so bad. First year university... now that's... actually, it's going relatively well.))
Faith yawned and nodded at Adrien. "Well, shouldn't you be getting ready to sleep Vampire?" she asked rather nonchalantly. Unlike the other three, Faith was completely unaffected by the coming of dawn. Granted, she hadn't slept at all during the night but she had good reason. She had convinced herself that the moment she closed her eyes she would either never awaken again or she would be plagued with the face of her attacker/tormentor.
"Wouldn't want you to spontaeneously combust or something," she added as she stood and offered the young-looking creature a hand up from his chair. What did it matter that he had completely disregarded her introduction? She was still going to be civil to him and if it meant making him feel more at home (even when she felt like an outsider ehrself!) then she would do whatever she could.

"Hm?" He turned to the vampire, rather startled, after being interrupted from his thoughts so suddenly. In all honesty, he hadn't been paying attention much to anything, besides his own inner-most feelings. But...who was this person again? Did it really matter? He should at least be polite enough to take her offered hand, no? She...seemed all right.
"Thank you," Adrien said softly, taking her hand and standing up from the chair. Sleep seemed to have come for him in a vicious attack of many troups, as his legs were failing to keep him erect. He didn't want to fall into the woman before him...he gripped her hand tighter, praying that he wasn't about to hurt her.
"Forgive me," he said weakly. "I'm just so exhausted..." His eyelids were quickly becoming heavier by the minute; he was glad to know that his room was just across the hall. But would he be able to get there without causing an accident? He doubted it.

Faith smiled and drapped his arm around her shoulders to help keep him up. "No worries. I've lugged my share of people to their rooms," she told him, laughing slightly. JUst a few years ago she had been a giggling high school student, partying hard with her friends. She shifted him slightly to balance his weight out and took a step towards the door. "Where's your room?"

~(I feel like such a bad person for leaving Abyss hanging like I did. >< Bad Lunar, bad!)~
Deimos listened patiently while absorbing every detail he could. When the tale was done, the tanned demon smiled softly. "Humans never know what they're doing. Especially when they're involved in polotics," agreed the raven-haired male. Waving a waiter over, he ordered more tea. "Would you like some more tea, Miss Liek?" he asked, smiling.
~(I feel even worse as it be a short post!)~

Liek looked at him for a moment before looking at the waiter and shaking her head. "No, and you should know, that soon the light will be upon us, so to not create such a fuss, we should go to the shadows, to sleep with the widows. You may come stay in my room, so that you do not have to loom. I live right up there, up the stair. You may wait for your tea, and should you see, a reason to dock, my door will not be locked." She said and leaned to his face before blowing gently onto it cold air before taking her top hat and leaving. A second later (literally) her form could be seen traveling up stairs in the corner.
She entered her room and placed her top hat on the hat stand and pushed gently aside her curtains made of different dark and metallic cloths. All sheer yet seemed to be sewn together like a quilt and hung about from ceiling to pooling on the floor, some even going across the ceiling and hanging partially down. Thick black velvet covered the window and behind that shutters closed upon them. Protected candle lamps were on the walls and unprotected candles of all sizes and variation were around the room. All furniture was on the floor, low, with no space under it. Her king size bed was draped in quilted fabrics, much like the curtains draped around the room except made from actual sheet material and of much lighter but elegantly colored fabrics. Much of the room was like that, very elegant colors, yet a mesh of it all.
((When I say dark I mean dark shades of colors. All colors of the rainbow and then some. Metallic is for gold and silver and those))

"It's just across the hall," he explained weakly, trying not to cling too much to the woman supporting him. He hoped this kind of exhaustion wouldn't present itself every night; he would hate to have it hit him during a moment of awkwardness - as if this wasn't already awkward enough.

Faith nodded and helped him out of the dinning room and across the hall. Slowly, she balanced the young Vampire as she pushed the door open. "Is there anywhere you want me to bring you?" she asked quietly as she manuevered him into the room and closed the door with her foot.
