Ok, well I see that I made another mistake, once again I am not going to try and cover anything up, a few of those complaints obviously my replies to a few posts, and obviously my actions are not agreed upon, then I guess I feel that I will have no choice in it but to quit, resign, what ever you wish to refer to it as.

I appologize for any mistakes that I made in this then, I posted those with the intent of giving those people an idea of C&T, as they were new in C&T, so I tried to post those in the idea that they will understand to read the rules, but obviously it is not a view shared by others.

To be exact, I said the 1st one, 3rd and 4th one I believe it was.

Good day then I guess.

When I inform the OP that their thread is in the wrong forum, I try to be as polite as possible. And I'll tell them that I'll PM the moderator. That way, I can be sure it gets done. Nothing against them, but you don't know if they are going to listen to information.

Im not saying you were being rude to them, and I am glad you were trying to help. But 9/10 of the time, the poster will not PM a mod to get their own post moved.

Here's a thought.

Ryuke, feel free to change alter edit deny the following idea:

Keep informing them of there shortsightedness, AND PM a mod about it. I would refrain from saying you have Pmed a mod though, as most people would take that as a threat, or be afraid, or something.

So, we need to know on those topics , in a non offensive/intrusive way that a mod has been PMed about it, for several reasons. One, so we dont get 8 people PMing mods about the topic, Two, so we all know its been done.

My suggestion to go about marking the topic is insanely simple. Put a mrgreen somewhere on your post in the thread. It'll be like the fish for christians in roman times.

But with less lions.

Arethic, what part of "talk" did you assume to be "I'll kick your a** out!"? If you'd rather not talk with me and resign, that's your decision.

Kiretsu, that's a good idea, though i prefer the ninja

I will gladly talk, but I never said nothing about kicking my a** out, its just that this is now the second time that someone has reported my actions in that type of reply, although I feel to believe that I did nothing wrong, as I keep an eye on those that I have informed in the past of this situation, but in the end it comes down to my time I have in C&T and the rest of gaia, I have pretty much become regular around Q&F and its subforums somewhat.

And I just feel that by me telling those that I have not had to yet to PM a moderator on a matter, or inform them of the stickies gives them a better idea on what to do the next time they want to post something, they learn.

If I just post and say something like, wrong forum, I contacted a moderator, what do they learn? They dont learn what moderator to PM if they ever need to, they dont know what forums unless I state it or inform them of a sticky that exists. I give them the opportunity to do it them selves, cause that way they learn plus it does not make me, nor the C&T PD seem like asses, as I have gotten PMs in the past telling me all I had to do is inform them of the problem and they would gladly have gotten a moderator to move it, that does not get us respect, and respect is what we deserve a little of when it comes down to it in the end, so that people will trust our judgement and trust us to be polite and not bias on decisions.

I keep an eye on the people that I have notified in the past of PMing a moderator to move their thread, if I see them make the same mistake again, I then personally PM a moderator and them most of the time and inform them that I asked them once before to check the stickies and the rules of the forum on that matter. That is why alot of people dont mind me and trust my desicisions, cause most of the time I am as polite as can be and do not immediatly PM a moderator and do trouble, I try to take it into my judgement to learn from their problems and give them chance to report their own thread in the hopes that they will understand me and then trust me enough and not be angry with me so that when I ask them to read the stickies and rules they will, by doing this since I have joined, it has gotten people actually PMing me asking me a question before they posted anythign in C&T so that they would know if it would be good or if there are any threads I knew of that I can direct them to for an answer.

It seems to me though that these ideas of mine are not shared among the practical laws of the C&T PD, and if you cant atleast understand the reason I reply to some people the way I do, then I see that I cannot perform to the best of this Group cause it would be something that leadership does not agree with.

In my opinion, Arethic, what you are doing is what you should be doing. I think you should be telling them where to go, and how to do it, and why they are doing whatever they are doing wrong; all C&TPD members should follow your example.

My issue comes in with spam and D2D topics... yes, tell them they are wrong by all means, and why they are. But, as I mentioned, 9/10 times they NEVER come back to the post as they are doing so for gold, and just dont give a s**t. Mods NEED to be PMed to keep our section of Gaia looking clean and sharp.

Im not trying to get anyone here kicked out. Im trying to help everyone.

And mrgreen is alot more blatentley obvious than ninja .

Can we use both? heart

Well then I dont understand, if you felt I did a fine job, then why did you report three of my replies to people above as complaints?

Arethic, if you're choosing to go the "inform the n00b" route, just make sure the thread is dealt with. If 15 minutes pass and the thread is still in the same state as it was, go ahead and PM a moderator yourself.

I believe the threads in question were not moved, hence the complaint.

But the threads were moved, I do believe they were, or maybe I did not realize they were not, but I believe I checked back, cause I usually give them 10 minutes, unless they show up as offline then I contact a moderator personally on the matter right away.

There is no need to appologize, its all my fault, I have let the stress get to me lately, and I try my best to do what I can, but between trying to do C&T and the other forums, and all the other stuff, I guess I actually did lose track of a few threads.

For that, I guess I owe the appology.

See, these are the types of posts I hate when people make them:

http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=233297038#233297038

These two guys pretty much give the same answers everyone else has and then practically demands the gold, now I made as civilized answer as I possibly could.... but yet they have to, mainly the one guy, has to get smart with me and try and flame back lightly, that annoys me, cause if they read the rules and stuff, they would know that C&T is practically volunteer if you plan to help out, and you should not take gold if you are even offered it........ now tell me, does not dealing with this sitution suck a tad and atleast warrent a bit of a minor flamitory like response to try and set them straight......?

I am starting to like the archiving system even more ^_^

I was pretty pissed when I came back and found that one gone last summer. I thought my guide in there was fairly good.

The only problem with the archiving system right now is that on topics like the FAQ, we cant edit or post in them, at all. Not even Xeon, from what I heard.

I would imagine only admins can, if its based anything off the rough archiver in phpbb...
