Faith raised an eyebrow, feeling rather defient. She was being sent to bed like a child. She had felt the desire to comment on it but something else Ariai had said caught her attention. "Back up one minute... are you saying that I am capable of this 'magical' self-defence?" How could she learn any type of magic? She hardly believed magic existed.

"It would be basic but you could learn it. Ariai can teach you many things." Clifford said as he stood and streached. "I don't kow about the rest of you but I am tired for being in town one evening. I am going to go find my room. ARiai, if you still wish to talk you can find me there." He then gave everyone a small half bow and then left the room silently.
He walked the halls of the manor looking about. It had been far too long since he had come home. He found the room his sarogat parents had set aside for him and sat down in the armchair next to the fireplace within. Above the mantel were a pair of swords and a sheild. To the left of the night stand was a stand to hold varioous other weapons.

"All beings that exist have the power to use magic," Ariai commented. "They either don't believe in it or cannot tap into the vast expanses that magic offers." She smiled a bit wanely. "I can teach you, Ms. Anderson, tomorrow how to do basic spells that may save your life, if you so desire to learn." "Good night, Clifford," she smiled, and curtsied as he bowed.

~(Goodness, I forgot what question I was going to ask o.o)~
Placing one hand on the small of Liek's back to help prevent her from falling, Deimos smiled. "If I were so grand as to pass your rhyming class, I would not do so out of sass," rhymed the demon. Taking a moment to pause, he asked, "Would you tell me your tale? I swear to listen without fail. If you see fit to respond, I am sure that I shall become of it quite fond." The vampire moved a few strands of dark hair away from his face with his free hand before taking his cup from the table and sipping the tea once again.

Liek looked down for a moment thinking, her thoughts melancholy. She looked back upon him and nodded softly. "I myself am only of five centuries old, at least that is what Clifford tells me. I do not remember my human life, or the early stages of my new life... I was taken from my sire by the human government... They tried to 'cure' me of my illness, first with leeches, then with medicine, many many needles were involved. I was allowed little blood, very little for they wanted to cure me and keep me weak. Clifford and Ariai saved me... It is why I am neutral in this brewing war, humans have done nothing but hurt me before." She said, actually said and didn't rhyme. She couldn't rhyme her story. This was as much as she had told Clifford as well, though if he knew something from his own investigations she didn't know.

Flushing slightly, Faith nodded. She was one of the non-believers that they had spoken about. Most people found it odd that she believed in "fictional" beings and yet doubted the existence of magic. "Guess I'm gonna have to be open minded on this, huh?" she joked softly.

As Clifford waited Ariai in his chambers, he thought of how to go about doing this. Part of his mind was still reaching out for Liek and knew that she was telling the man her story...or what she remembered of it. Clifford was sure he would have to tell her sometime soon that he was her sire and what else he knew of her past. That would not have good results. She might even turn on him...depending on how betrayed she felt.
The aged vampire stood up and paced his room thinking. So many heavy thoughts weighed on him tonight...actually it was in the wee hours of the morning by now. Easily 2 or 3 am. A rebel force killing humans, a plauge that keeps reinventing itself, Liek talking with this murderious man, and Ariai wanting to find out exactly what was going on with hiim...quite a bit for one evening.

"Yes, you will have to be open-minded," Ariai said solemnly. "Or else you won't be able to learn. Magic will reject you if you do not believe. But..." She trailed off. "We'll discuss this all tomorrow, when we're rested. Ms. Anderson, I bid you good night." She curtsied to the woman and headed to her next destination: Clifford's room.
She came to the door and opened it slowly, so that the door wouldn't creak as she went in. "Clifford?" she murmured.

Faith nodded and watched Ariai leave. "Must be nice to be in love," she said a little wistfully. Looking over at the over Vampire, she gave a timid smile. She did not want to come off as cold towards him but she didn't even know him. She didn't want to just jump to conclusions about him. "My name's Faith," she introduced herself before standing up. There, she ahd made an attempt to befriend a Vampire all on her own.

The depths of the fire held the man's gaze but he heard her soft voice. "Come in Ariai. Get comfortable. I have no idea how long this will take." He turned his gaze from the fire and looked at her lovely face. It seemed as though the fire had made his eyes warmer then ever for her. "Have I told you how lovely you look tonight?" He smiled a little as he sat down in his chair again. He felt so clique for starting out like that.

Ariai laughed as she sat down into a chair. "I don't think you have, but I appreciate it all the same." She tucked her right ankle behind her left and tilted her legs, and then folded her hands on her lap. "So...there's something you wanted to talk to me about?"

"You were the one who wanted to talk my dear...about what was bothering me, remember?"' Clifford reminded her as she sat down. "And I am still not sure how to tell you...Its something important to me...and its hard to let go. You that it always is for me dear."

"Of course. I remember. But if it's something you want to discuss, I'm always here." She smiled at him warmly. "Whatever's bothering you...I hope you'll talk about it with me, because I don't like to see you hurt."

It was ironic to his mind that she never wanted him to hurt and yet his fear to tell her was what was hurting him. It made him chuckle a bit a** he looked into the fire again. "Ah...Dear Ariai...if only you knew..." He said and then stood again pacing slowly before the mantle. After a moment he turned and looked at her. "What do you think of me? If you had never met me before what would you think?" He then moved closer to her chair and knelt before it looking into her eyes. "What would you do if we met as mortals? Please tell me...I need to know."

Ariai blinked at his behavior. "Well...I suppose..." She tapped her heeled shoe against the cold tile floor, thinking. "I would think as I do now. You're a gentleman, opinionated but polite, caring and supportive to the ones you care about. What? Why are you asking such questions, Clifford? What does any of that have to do with what's disturbing you?"
